Sure, there are lots of ABC stores to choose from in RVA, but this one just happens to be my favorite.
Why?
— First off, it’s super convenient to where I live since it’s located on the edge of Carytown, directly behind Ellwood Thompson. It also has its own parking lot (albeit tiny), so you don’t have to fight the diners at Burger Bach or the shoppers at Ellwood for a spot.
— It also happens to carry my favorite gin (Tru Organic) and is only one of two ABC stores in the area that stocks the stuff.
— The layout is easy to navigate and the staff is always helpful, offering suggestions when asked and checking on back stock when shelves are vacant.
— It’s always a quick and easy in and out and the store’s always clean.
I’ve been in many a sketchy ABC store, and this just isn’t one of them. Sure, you might encounter your overly friendly customer telling you they’d like to party with you based on your alcohol selections… but that could happen anywhere, right?

The best ABC store in the area! Of all the local stores, this one has the largest selection, best lay out, and most knowledgeable staff. I’m a huge bourbon fan, and every time I come here the guys behind the counter tell me about new bourbons, other similar liquors, and things they love and hate. Props for being the best ABC store in the city.
