I love the menu here. I have been coming to Sakura since they first opened and it’s my go to for sushi in the tri cities. The bar is not very high in the tri cities for sushi, anywhere close to the ocean with fresh fish is better, but for what you can expect in a desert town, Sakura has got it. The food is always great, the lunch specials are very God deals but the expensive rolls are where it’s at. The Chinese food it very good as well. The service is ok. I’ve come here many times and as they started to recognize me the service got better. It’s never been great and thats why they lose a star. Sometimes the ladies can be rude and they get upset if you can’t understand them, but they have very thick accents which makes communication a little difficult. All in all, I’d recommend Sakura over the other sushi spots in town.

Sadly Sakura has fallen out of favor with me. 15 minutes for a pickup always turns into 30 and worst case 45 minutes. Once you finally get your food, if you order anything with tempura, enjoy the free loaf of bread that comes with it. It is so thick it has ruined my favorite roll with them. Also, it appears that sauce has changed, so my wifes roll is not the same as well. I’ll leave them alone for a year or so, try some other ones and see if it gets better.

Mediocre sushi, mediocre fried rice, mediocre service ! The hostess was so rude ! I don’t understand how a rude person can be working as a hostess greeting customers and taking orders to takeout !

Customer Order #9448 Order Type: PickUp ASAP3÷25÷2016 Our order, 2 Shrimp eggroll, large Hot & Sour soup, Happy Family, and Double Delight with Garlic Sauce spicy. When I picked up food, after paying, the waitress/hostess said BTW we no have Shrimp Eggrolls here. I explained that I ordered online from their menu and she said, oh that old menu, not updated. We give you pork eggrolls. When I got them holm they were greasy. Yuk. The soup was delicious! If you look online, the normal recipe online it shows that a Happy Family dish is a Chinese stir fry typically made with beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, lobster or crab meat and scallops mixed with vegetables. These vegetables often include carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, baby corn, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots… Nowhere does it mention heavy thick brown horrible tasting oily mess which is what we had to throw away. We also ordered Double Delight with Spicy Garlic Sauce. This should have been a light chicken and shrimp dish, with veggies. The average sauce recipe includes: 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce, 2 teaspoons chinese rice wine, 1⁄4−1⁄2 teaspoon chili sauce(Sriracha to taste), 1⁄4 teaspoon sesame oil, 11⁄2 teaspoons cornstarch, 1 tablespoon water, 1 tablespoon vegetables or 1 tablespoon peanut oil, 3 –4 medium garlic cloves, finely chopped. Ours was so heavy in oil that we could not stomach it. No we will not eat here again. We wasted all of our $ 30 plus dollars except the $ 4.07 for the soup

By far the best sushi in town. All other dishes are great, as well. This is our go-to Chinese/Japanese restaurant. Reasonable prices, generous portions. The lunch sushi specials are perfect in size and price, great for take out. The staff is not always incredibly warm, but they aren’t rude, and provide efficient service. Atmosphere is a little lacking but that’s ok with me, and we’ll often call in a take out order for dinner and eat at home. They’ve never gotten an order wrong with us. I have zero desire to get sushi anywhere else.

I’d give it 0 stars if I could. This place is awful both in food and service. We were seated right away, got drinks fine and order taken. Food came out instantly. The boyfriend had general tsoas and I had the roast duck. After we got our food, that was it. No one came back to check on us. Waitress had no problem flirting with other customers seated around us, we made eye contact, still we were ignored. Now the food. There was a reason it came out instantly. It had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. It was terrible. I’ve microwaved better TV dinners. General tsoas sauce was congealed and breading was a soggy mess. My roast duck was also soggy and old. Food was pretty much inedible. Overall, no resturant has ever made me as mad or hate a place as much as this place.

The reviews are right. The food is OK but the service is bad. If management just took some time and fixed their customer service issues the place would be better. We ordered take out and still had bad service. When I showed up to pick up the order it took almost 10 minutes for someone to even come to the front stand. Then when they did they ignored me completely as if I wasn’t there. I had to literally ask the lately to go find my order. It then took another 10 minutes to get the food. Making it almost 45 minutes from call in to actual pickup. Then to top it all off, when we got home we were missing food. At that point we were too tired of dealing with the bad service. I give this place 2 stars only because the food that we did get wasn’t bad and the serving size is decent. Otherwise I’d give it a single star only.

I have eaten here multiple times because the food is decent. The service however is absolute GARBAGE. Especially the older Asian lady. She could not be more rude to my wife and I when we go in. In fact, she’s rude on the phone too. We were just trying to order take out right now and this rude, inconsiderate shrew hung up on my wife instead of simply answering her questions. To the lady I’m talking about, I hope you read this review. You need to understand that customers are vital for your restaurant to be successful and when you treat them poorly, they stop coming. I have no problem taking our business to any of the other Asian restaurants in the area because they appreciate it and don’t treat us like shit. I encourage everyone who reads this to also go somewhere, anywhere, else so hopefully this place closes or at least gets new ownership.

More than disappointed in the food and service. I actually pointed to a sushi roll shown on the menu asked for that roll and was served a totally different roll. I was too stunned when the roll came to say anything. I ate the roll served to me and have to say it was comparable to a roll I could buy in the deli section if my local grocery store. Second visit to restaurant and will not be back.

Love everything I have tried here. I have not had any sushi but the prices are great and the portions are big. We come here a lot and will keep coming back.

The only reason I am giving this two stars instead of one is because my grandpa LOVES this place so maybe I’m just missing the charm. Also, I don’t like sushi so I can only comment on the Chinese and American dishes. I have been here a few times(thanks G’pa) and never had anything to eat that I enjoyed(except a green salad with really good house dressing).

I really like this place. The sashimi is always fresh. The food is always presented nicely. The prices are a bit high but it is worth it. The order is not always consistent but that is to be expected with sushi. I wish I could eat there everyday.

How hard is it to get an order right when you order online? The list is RIGHTTHERE! These people regularly STEAL from you if you order this way. Check to make sure you get what you order. If you get home and your order is incomplete, they accuse you of lying! Mediocre sushi, terrible customer service. Do NOT eat here.

Sakura has the best sushi in the tri-cities(on par with Osaka’s sushi, but Sakura’s prices are better). The service is good, the atmosphere is nice, and there is a large menu with lots of choices. We have never ordered anything from Sakura that wasn’t good.

I should have heeded the other reviews in regards to the service(or lack there of). My husband and I came here for dinner tonight It was pretty busy and I had already anticipated issues just from reading reviews online. We were seated immediately(with menus) but it probably took them about 10 minutes to come back to take the order or even ask if we wanted drinks. We already knew what we wanted(having been sitting there with plenty of time to read the menu 50 times over) so we ordered drinks and dinner. My husband’s dinner came out first. I sat and waited for mine(nibbled on his)…and waited. .and waited. Finally, after about 10 minutes with no food of my own or anyone even looking or checking with us I got up and asked a waitress to please check on my plate. She came back about 5 minutes later and said my plate would be out in another 5. It did finally come but I was so irritated by then that there was no way I could truly enjoy the meal. Oh yes, and I asked her for more rice while we were waiting and she begrudgingly agreed(ended up bringing my rice that came with my meal-so no extra rice out of their pocket). The food itself was OK. My husband’s General Tsos was a lot tastier than my Sweet and Sour. Nothing to write home about. All and all I would not recommend this place after my experience tonight.

Love this place! Can’t beat the happy hour and the jungle bowl drink is a must. The staff is friendly, the tables are clean and it’s generally a comfortably quiet atmosphere.

Had to edit and drop a few stars for service. Stopped in on a weeknight, while not busy, and we stood at the entrance for 5+ minutes ignored. Employees walking past multiple times without a single acknowledgement. We walked out and went elsewhere. This is how you become a 3 star joint. Previous review: I can’t imagine why Sakura has a 3 star rating. Their sushi has never been anything but amazing. Seriously, I dream of The Black Pearl roll and crave it on a regular basis at random times… like a fuzzy, happy memory I want to revisit again and again. Everything we’ve ordered over many many visits since they’ve opened has been fantastic, service has always been very attentive and personable. Highly recommend the Baby Bok Choy or roasted duck… so good! That you can request brown rice instead of white is awesome. And the Happy Hour drink menu cannot be beat!

We ordered takeout on Christmas Eve, because we had been doing a lot of cooking for the holiday and just wanted some good olé’ comfort(American Chinese) food. We ordered lo mein and sweet and sour chicken over the phone(I didn’t want to create an account for the online ordering — I wish they were integrated with Unilocal’s online ordering, but that’s okay). The woman who ordered the phone was efficient and courteous, and gave me the order total and pick-up time. Husband went to pick up the food. It was packaged neatly(sweet-sour sauce separately, +10 points) with packets of soy sauce and nothing leaked or spilled, which is always fantastic to see. The food itself was hot and tasty, nothing too salty or soggy, and definitely fulfilled my craving for Chinese food. It’s close to us, so I would definitely order from them again.

Probably my favorite sushi/Chinese place in town. Happy hour specials are crazy, all drinks are 2.75! Jungle bowl is best and biggest option, so get that to really get your moneys worth. Chinese food is half way authentic which is 200% better than anywhere else in town. Sushi is up to par with everyone else in town but not top quality by any means. The ladies who work here are the best! I come just to hang out and harass them! I’m a regular already and keep coming back for the fun and light atmosphere, which is sort of uncommon for an asian restaurant. The food is honestly hit or miss and can be a bit salty at times, but I always leave happy and enjoy bringing groups of friends to enjoy the experience. Sakura gets a 3 star for food quality but a 5 star for value, atmosphere and wait staff.
