Modern Dental

Ok I can never leave Dallas now. I finally found a good dentist and a good hygenist. The office is clean they are quick and effecient. It might be the best cleaning I have had in 5 years. They were good at checking in with me to see how I was doing.
I love that they make the crowns and fillings in house. It is so much easier than waiting on your crown to come in. They can do a crown in as little as 2 hours if all goes well.

Modern Dental is awesome. Everything is very clean and organized. Julie is a super awesome hygienist. Everything felt at home, and one of the best dental experiences. Julie did an amazing job on my mouth and I have never it cleaner. Dr. Kim came in and consulted me after. He showed me a video of my teeth and a treatment plan with options as well as referrals. I highly recommend you go see Dr. Kim!

Dr. Kim may be the best dentist I’ve ever had. I first went in for a standard cleaning and was immediately impressed by his clean and modern offices. When I struggled with the molding trays triggering my gag reflex, he patiently photo-​scanned each tooth so I wouldn’t have to endure the trays any longer.
I’ve used his office for teeth cleaning, a night guard for grinding and invisalign. His office is great and my mouth is much better shape because of him.
His staff is very friendly and I’ve never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to be seen. I wish I could say all of these things about my other doctors.
Highly recommended.

Had another great visit with Dr Kim for my 6 month check up and I had a sealant that had fallen out and he was able to fix that during my visit. Another shout out for great service and friendly staff. He has seen my friends and family and all of them love his office.

Dr. Kim was really nice and helpful. I have to have a root canal done tomorrow, but have no insurance. Dr. Kim himself, took the time to explain everything to me and talk me through everything that needed to be done. He called around to get financing for me, because I don’t have insurance. Then he called me back and set the appointment himself.
I have never had a dentist that seemed to care so much about his patients and tried to work out the best deal possible for them.
I will definitely be back.

Great dental office!!! I have been to a few dental offices and this one is, by far, the best. The dentists are very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable… the staff is great… and the office itself is pretty slick. This place is a gem!

I recently used my groupon to get a cleaning at Modern Dental. While there, Dr. Kim took a look at one of my teeth that I was concerned about since the filling had fallen out over a year before. The tooth wasn’t giving me problems, but I just wanted to see what needed to be done.
He took a quick look at the x-​ray and immediately said that I would need a root canal and should feel lucky that I had not experienced any pain already.
I then received an estimate from Stephanie for the procedure.
I thought it was a little excessive (since I don’t have insurance) so I went to another dentist that was recommended to get a second opinion and second price.
The new dentist immediately took his own x-​ray (because the one from Modern Dental was blurry) and explained that it was not necessary to do a root canal. He would simply just pull the remaining old filling and and take out the little bit of decay below, and then refill with a new filling.
So my concern is that Dr. Kim got a little ahead of himself and wanted to do an unnecessary procedure. A root canal (to me) should be the last resort. I would like to be able to save my teeth as much as possible and keep from doing any unnecessary work. The second opinion saved me $ 2,000!!! and my tooth looks great and feels fine.
I previously put in a great review for Modern Dental on their survey, but now that I have experienced this, I will definitely warn other patrons about this experience. It almost seems like Dr. Kim was trying to recoup his money from the groupon.
The receptionist (Stephanie) was very friendly and helpful, and the cleaning went great, however I wouldn’t recommend any other procedure at this clinic :(- unless you have insurance.
Thank goodness I got another opinion or I would have been out $ 2000 AND my tooth!

Dr. Kim was focused on providing a pleasant dental experience. He really took his time and made sure I was comfortable during my initial x-​rays and cleaning.
Modern Dental’s office looks like it is equipped with the latest technologies and the staff was very helpful.
