I love Max and Erma’s. The food is always right and delicious. Love the tortilla soup. The service was great. Our server was extremely friendly and courteous. However, how could you take away Free Cookie Wednesday? I realize this is a corporate decision, but it’s a huge bummer. Hopefully they will bring this back!

fun atmosphere, great food, good service! Friendly neighborhood restaurant. The eclectic ambiance is interesting and gives you much to look at. Moderately priced.

I was craving something other than McDonald’s one night and remembered that there was a Max & Erma’s on my side of town — normally I have to go to Easton. I stopped in here one night and grabbed some Sweet Chili Tenders and a Caesar Side Salad to go for about $ 12 and it was delicious. I went on a Friday night and it was PACKED! But, there aren’t too many ‘sit down’ and dine type of restaurants in this particular area so I can see why it was so packed. Anyway, my review is solely based on my take-out experience, for now. The service was pretty fast — waited about 10 minutes for my meal — however the teens or young adults taking my order were a tad bit unprofessional, but again, they were teens(I doubt any of them were beyond 18). They were kind of rushing me to make a decision on what to get and almost shortchanged me. One thing I noticed while waiting was the noise level here. Maybe I’m used to the one on Easton which in contrast to this one seems much more quite and chill, even on a Friday night. The complete opposite here. Loud music, loud guests, loud kids(ugh) and even some of the serves were loudly laughing and shouting at each other form across the restaurant to each other in between serving up tables. Eh, it’s convenient for take-out, but I don’t think I’d actually bring my girls to this one to sit down for a night of drinks and appetizers.

Not the best dinner. Bun on garbage burger was stale. Glass had a chip in the top which cut my lip and server offered nothing and took the 1⁄3 filled glass away. Loud kitchen. Hope not to return.

My husband and I went for Valentine’s Day, and it was good! Our waitress was very friendly, the food was good. We were able to get our courses quickly, we didn’t have to wait very long between our appetizer and our entrees at all! The only thing was that it felt a little rushed, perhaps because we got the special(shared app, 2 entrees, shared dessert) but it seemed like we finished one and then the next was on the table!

I have been here a couple of times and am just never impressed. The last time I went with my husband(two weeks ago), we were seated quickly. Our waitress was super friendly, but it was clear that she had too many tables. She was running from one location to another. She took our order and then had to come back twice. I had ordered a steak, medium, and a baked potato. Apparently, they had run out of baked potatoes. So I swapped for mashed. It took over thirty minutes for our food to come. My steak was well done, or more than well done, and dry. I had also asked for it to come without the sauce drizzled on top, but it was covered in a butter sauce. My husband ordered a burger and fries — maybe it’s harder to mess that up? We were in a hurry at this point, and I didn’t send anything back — so in all fairness, I didn’t give her the chance to correct it — but it was just par for the course. The food isn’t great, the cost is high for the quality of food, and there is just a lack of attention to detail. It’s not somewhere I would go regularly.

I ate at this location with my mother. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Our waitress was ok. She was moving around very fast because it was so crowded and didn’t seem angry or anything but she wasn’t too friendly either. We waited a really long time for our food, about 45 minutes or more. The waitress told us that she had informed the manager of our long wait. The manager paid for our dessert, which was super nice and we really appreciated it. The food was not very good. I had the Chicken Parmesan meal with a side of mashed potatoes. It was a big piece of chicken with cheese on it surrounded by pasta. Everything came out cold, but we didn’t bother to complain because it was so crowded and we were starving by then. Would not go back, but we really appreciate the managers generosity.

This location just seems to be declining. It used to be pretty good. Poor service. Really slow service most times. Some staff look unclean. Just seems like no one really cares about good service and food quality. Sad! Regional need to fix this place! If you check other review sites and apps like next door you’ll see people are not very happy with this location either.

My advice DONOTGOTOTHISLOCATION !!! The place was FILTHY food all over the floors tables were sticky and it just felt like I should clean up my table before I sat down with my wife. Next thing it took 25 mins. to get a bottle of bud light and a coke, Our waitress was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO slow. So we waited to order and it took another 30 mins for our dinner to arrive no big deal there. But when the food came, I ordered the Laredo steak with baked potato and steamed broccoli. with had the chicken quesadia, Okay so now the arrives my steak with cold the broccoli was cold and the baked potato was barely warm. the wife’s chicken qeusadia. it was cold and 2 of the flour tortillas had 2 small cubes of chicken and nothing else. When I asked to see the manager she was like okay I will reheat this meal for you WHYWOULD I WANTED A REHEATEDMEAL ??? My advice get someone in there to clean house get some people in there that have some pride in working for your restaurant. If I could give minus stars I would go for a minus 3.5 . I will NEVER step into another Max and Erma’s !!!

I truly enjoy this Columbus based restaurant chain. I’m proud to bring out of town guests here as well as Bob Evans. This is an American fare menu by definition. The Garbage burger is their signature item. All burgers come in 6oz Erma size, or 10oz Max size. Over the years they have added the patty options, turkey and black bean vegetarian. All these are served with seasoned fries. They will however make substitutions with no hassle. Like many establishments that serve a lot of fries, I have received some on occasion with old fries. Beef and chicken are their staples. Dinners, sandwiches, salads & desserts. They have a rotating seasonal menu that may feature more seafood, fajita/stir fry, lighter diet, & comfort items. Dessert used to be a highlight for the artistic clawfoot iron bathtub sundae bar. I think the parents enjoy it as mush as the kids. The newest push is for the dessert cookies. You could be asked if you would like these, while ordering your entrée. They bake the cookies to order, so it takes a few minutes. Hot cookies are great. There is a full service bar that serves the entire menu. Beware the blender noise of all those specialty frozen drinks. This includes lemonades, and kids drinks. Not the place to go for your sports fix. The policy is TV muted on closed caption with music playing. If you want the fifth star back, the fine touches need to return. Open the front door and greet/thank us. Put down the cell phones. Quit congregating at the hostess stand to talk about your personal lives, or your guests. Management needs to visit the tables again. Prepare EVERY meal like it’s being served to someone from the corporate office.

We’ve been here twice and both times we had amazing service! I wish I remembered the name of our servers but unfortunately I don’t. The food was good. We had tortilla burger combos the first time and then a St. Patricks Day special burger which came with corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. The fries had cheese and bacon on them and were endless also. We tried the asparagus appetizer and I would skip that next time. It really wasn’t worth the money. The tortilla soup is seriously to die for! It tastes like they use a canned cheese soup of some type blended in there but it still is seriously addicting. We did have an issue with my husbands burger not being cooked all of the way, he ordered it medium and it came out rare, but the waiter took care of it immediately and ended up taking it off of our bill as well. All in all this is a great option when you’re just looking for a quick burger or something other than fast food that’s still priced reasonably.

The food was good but the service was abysmal. My 2 stars are averaged as 4 for food taste but 0 for service. Drinks came but no cream for the coffee. By the time the creams came, the coffee was no longer hot. The next table over, we overheard complaining to a manager that the server took a drink order then disappeared. Requests for condiments(mayo for a burger — not an unexpected or unreasonable request) took forever. Even our bill was wrong. Multiple issues here with how the team operates. I hope it improves.

Went to this Max & Erma’s tonight with my Dad and 18 year old Grand Daughter. We all got burgers. Tortilla soup was great. Skewered garlic parmesan cheese bites were served with a ranch sauce and marinara sauce, delicious. Chili great. Fries blah. Coffee delicious and fresh. One of the medium rare burgers was raw except for 1⁄16th of meat on each side. they replaced with new burger and she loved it. Mark was our server. Very good service. $ 45.00 for 3 burgers, 3 fries, 3 soups and 9 cookies. 2 coffees and one raspberry tea? Appetizer cheese bites, 12 of them. Good.

Here’s is a list of some of the issues we had over the years at this location. We no longer go to any Max and Ermas. * Pink chicken on a salad. * Waited 30 minutes once seated(with beverages from the bar) and no one came by. * Chocolate cake had grown mold. * Consistently cold fries. * Servers regularly took forever to get refills, etc. * Food wrong multiple times on take out orders. Your money is probably better spent ordering a pizza.

Seated directly on a Sunday at 1:00pm Service was very good, Erica is a great waitress! Tuscan grilled chicken Erma’s size is my wife’s new favorite. I had my old standby with the cheeseburger deal. We enjoy the staff and atmosphere. Recommended.

I came here on the 4th of July so it wasn’t very busy. It was like most other Max an Ermas décor-wise ect. Our hostess and server were good at what they do and seemed not stressed out or irritated which I like. We only had cheese skewers and a bowl of soup each but the soups were passable(my chili was a little greasy and her tortilla soup seemed a bit on the salty side for me but she liked it) Our server was very attentive as well as the manager who checked in with me to make sure I had been helped

Been here many times every time it gets worse. Max & Ermas is a great franchise but this location is absolutely the worst. I wish I had the patience to write down all of the horrible encounters here but I feel it’s a waste of my time. Their employees are nasty and need to get an attitude check.

Dining with my aunt on a random thursday evening around 7pm and there’s a 15 minute wait. Friendly staff banter with guests and the wait goes by quickly. It’s a very busy evening and our waitress Ciara is running from table to table, but she never missed a refill and had taken our orders correctly. Where I fault Max and Erma’s, especially the manager(Phil) and the cook: They can’t cook a burger to order. Twice. We both ordered a burgers medium. Both came out charred, completely gray throughout and dry. Plus they were missing pickles! We send them back. The manager apologizes and personally brings out the new burgers. Again, completely gray throughout with a tiny sliver of pink. The edges were charred and dry. I asked him if this is what they call medium and he responds«it’s close». Really, you’re satisfied with being«close»? What if I pay«close» to the amount? He says that it wouldn’t bother him to redo it AGAIN! I said it definitely bothers me. He removed our burgers from our bill. That’s why the food gets two stars, not one. If you’re going to personally escort my re-cooked burger to me, wait around, see if it’s right and never sever the wrong thing twice in a row.
