Stayed at the hotel and the service was terrible. I was dining by myself and it took over an hour to get my food and the entire time, was offered a half glass of water while I waited. Never again.

TERRIBLE is the only word that could describe this place. I was at Sheraton hotel last time and the manager offered us that he would buy breakfast and lunch at Syrah for my boyfriend and me. Breakfast buffet was something close to a college dining hall breakfast– I would have certaintly never paid for it. I ordered pan seared scallops for lunch(which were rotten) and my boyfriend ordered salmon steak which were both overpriced and disgustingly untasteful. The best thing we had that lunch was the side of fries. Since our meal was free I didn’t complain or anything but I would never come back here again.

For a hotel restaurant at dinner time, Syrah was fine. Unlike the Hyatt in Reston Town Center, this location lacks the options outside the hotel within walking distance, so having a hotel restaurant that is adequate is even more critical. The price was average for the area and the service at the bar was prompt. Was it the best steak frites I have eaten? No, but it wasn’t the worst. Eat here if you are hungry and do not have the time or energy to venture farther away, but do not expect a gourmet meal.

$ 18.50 for a to-go cup of yogurt parfait and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. You’ve GOT to be kidding me. I was starving at work so decided to go to the hotel by work because normally hotels will have a fairly inexpensive to-go section for breakfasts. Not so. No menu prices should have been a give-away. So I order a yogurt parfait(that was almost all granola with some hard pieces that I think used to be dried dates) and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. I knew it was going to be an issue when they asked how I wanted my egg. On a sandwich… that’s how I’d like it. Weird question, but alright. Oh, and I’d like it on wheat, please. I go to pay, and about fall over. You’re kidding me. Whatever, fine. I already ordered and was running late. Except then I get to work, and take a look: 1. Cup Of Yogurt — almost completely full of granola 2. Egg Sandwich — over-hard egg in between two double-slices of bread. The cheese was melted inbetween the slices of bread. WTF? Oh, and NOBACON. The only thing I will grant them is that they gave me a roasted tomato(really yummy) and some hash browns on the side, so it was like a full meal. However, that was not at all what I asked for. I’m not only disappointed in the price, but I’m also disappointed in the food itself — Breakfast is the easiest meal of the day, people. I guess I’ll just have to find somewhere else for it.

The food on the breakfast buffet was cold. Food for room service was good. We had sliders, steak, and calamari. Favorite was potato hash.

This review of Syrah is for the breakfast buffet portion only … So I ask if I can check out the food before I decide and the hostess says «of course» After checking it out … the only thing I can think of was «if I’m here as a guest for the wedding, is it free?» «No, it’s $ 19 per person» Seriously. $ 19 per person. Let me run down the extensive selection. burnt bacon — yup soggy corned beef hash — check day old danish — yeah, they got it scrambled eggs from the carton — you betcha’ cold and hard toast — of course fresh fruit bar — yes sir homestyle potatoes — what home are you from? breakfast quesadilla — i heard of breakfast burritos milk and cereal — don’t worry the milk’s not expired «So do you wanna eat here?» Guess what … guests of the wedding got free vouchers for breakfast. The hostess failed to mention that to me but it’s OK I found out anyway before ordering. I should’ve just went to sleep … but thank goodness it was free.

Don’t knock it, just because it’s in a hotel! This is inside of the Sheraton in Reston. We got it pretty late and even though they close soon, they let us sit and order. The Bass and Scallops were great! The waiter was very opinionated but helped us select delicious and filling items.
