Never ever try to purchase an REO property that they own. My offer was accepted on a property they had listed as «extensively renovated» and eligible under the Homepath program. Neither was true.
I discovered from the home inspection that it needed a complete new roof on the house and garage, had rusty pipes, live electrical wires and gas leak & a hot water heater tagged by the Gas Company. It would have cost me $ 30,000 just to make the house safe to live in and it was already over priced by $ 50,000. They refused to read the home inspection report, as then they would have to disclose the true condition of the property to any other potential buyers. When I offered them the true value of the property, they cancelled escrow rather than making a counter offer. Then the cancellation said that I had chosen to cancel due to the home inspection. My advice: stay away from these sleaze bags. The property they are trying to unload at 6318 Denny Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91 606 is a money pit. Beware.
