Emilio Canal Jr, DDS FASD

Pleasure and dentist are not two words you would normally use in the same sentence. They certainly go together here. Dr. Emilio Canal is by far the finest dentist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Having grown up in a generation where candy was considered a major food group, I need someone with elite skills. I had a couple of very large fillings (done elsewhere) fall out. Dr. Canal was not only very reassuring that I would be able to keep my teeth, but also very positive about my teeth in general, which is not the norm. I knew of Dr. Canal because he capped a tooth for me many years ago. The tooth he capped was also failed work done at another clinic. Now, twenty year later, his work has stood the test of time and that cap is still good to go. You see, Dr. Canal had been my dentist until he moved his practice. I had originally stayed with his previous clinic, but had subsequently more or less neglected my teeth because I was not satisfied with the work being done. I was finally able to track him down at his «new» clinic. I will sum up by saying that he is a true craftsman, perhaps even an artist. Because of my profession, I know perfectionism when I see it. Modern technology abounds at his new clinic. My recent visit was an absolute tour de-​force in state of the art dental care. Thanks to the high definition video that was used, I received a true education on where to focus my flossing and brushing. For anyone searching for the very highest level of expertise, look no further. For that matter, Dr. Canal’s entire staff is superlative. I actually look forward to my future visits.

In search of a dentist and a friend of mine raved about her dentist. Sure, it’s a long drive from DC, but I have yet to find a dentist I truly love.
My friend had raved about her dentist and turns out he’s also one of the top 100 dentists on the Washingtonian list.
Well, I started off the appt. today on the wrong foot. I showed up 30 minutes late. I thought my appt was at 10:30 am when it was actually 10 am. I also forgot my x-​rays. Despite all that, never at any point in time was anyone rude to me, or even expressed frustration at me. They said they’d do the best they can and boy did they!
Angie brought me in and was incredibly friendly. She prepped me and not 5 minutes later, Dr. Canal came in. Wow, he is such a nice guy and is very thorough. He walked me through my dental health, told me the good and the bad, and also talked to me about my treatment plan. Never at any point did I feel as if he was in a rush to leave to his next appt, or that I had caused a huge inconvenience to his day by being late to my appt.
After finishing my initial assessment, I scheduled my follow-​on visit for a cleaning.
I highly recommend Dr. Canal!
