Small family ran restaurant with good Mediterranean food. Recommend the Beef kabob sandwich. Plenty of other of choices on their menu

This place is very low key so don’t come here for the ambiance, the live music or the smoke and mirrors because there is precisely none of that here. What there is, is really good mediterranean food at a decent price served by nice people. Lots of value for your buck. The reason for only four stars is that my personal preference is to not eat off of paper plates with plastic utensils but that’s just me. LETMEJUSTADDTHAT I WASTHERE sitting and eating my meal and minding my own business when Jeanise(READHERREVIEW) walked in and had her meltdown. The man behind the counter(I don’t know if he was the owner or not) at first looked like he was confused as he couldn’t make out what this customer’s problem was. He wasn’t rude at all, he just couldn’t see the problem — she ordered something, they made what she ordered and she still was pitching a fit. After hearing her story for about the 5th time, he was finally understanding what was making her coo-coo and, although it looked like he didn’t want to because he felt he was in the right, he offered EXACTLYWHATSHEWASASKINGFOR; to cancel the salad and give her a refund for it. After all of that, this offer now was not good enough for this sanctimonious and arrogant person. She has been wronged and the world was going to pay for it. Bottom line, this was a very rude individual. If it was me behind the counter, even though my business is barely hanging on, I would have given her all of her money back if she promised never to come in again. Even the guy who was with her looked as if she was embarrassing him. So just remember folks, there are three sides to every story.

I was expecting a bit better given the Unilocal ratings. My meal was takeout, delivered home by my blushing bride. The meal was well packaged and hot upon arrival. Good, but nothing special. Hummus was quite ordinary. Rice was good. Roasted pepper and tomato good. Lamb kabob… Tasty but tiny pieces of lamb. Not impressive at all. Maybe another dish would be better, but this was just not too impressive.

I thought the food here was pretty good-good enough that I planned on ordering some food for a small Xmas eve dinner later this evening. I called days ahead and asked if they were open today and the lady on the phone(very sweet by the way) said yes, but not around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. I then asked if I should order in advance since it might be busy. She said no since my order wasn’t that big. So today I started calling after 4 pm, no answer. I called a few more times after that and no answer. Around 6 we figured to just drive over there because maybe they were too busy. Well, when we got there, they were CLOSED. Big disappointment because we were looking forward to the food.

Love this place! Friendly staff and by far, the best mediterranean food in the valley! Their chicken kabob and chicken shawarma plate are perfectly cooked, seasoned well and delicious! I especially LOVE the side humus, salad with garlic dressing, and the grilled tomatoes is so JUICY! I eat there almost every week! I highly recommend this place.

I ordered for pickup through Unilocal and by the time I arrived there(approximately 10 minutes) my food had just came out so YEAH! I’ve ordered for pickup at fast food style restaurants before and had to wait 20 – 30 minutes so I was pretty surprised that when I got there I just had to pay and get out :) I had the lamb kabob entrée and it came with their house salad, basmati rice, hummus, and pickled turnips. Everything was delicious. The lamb had a nice crisp taste on the outside but was tender and juicy when you bite into it. For the most part everything was great but I have to knock off a star for their pita bread. For a 12.50 meal not to come with pita bread is kind of odd. For it to come with reheated pita bread that I had to purchase just makes me sad. It’s nothing like the warm and fluffy pita breads that just came out of an oven. The place definitely does not feel like a sit down restaurant, so if I ever return it’ll probably be for their quick take out service. Other than that there are plenty of good Mediterranean restaurants in the area. EDIT: So I just received a phone call from what I believe is the owner. He wanted to let me know that the Unilocal order doesn’t show that it includes pita bread in the order and that I had more than a single order. He did invite me back for extra free pita bread on my next order to make it right. I may take him up on that offer:) It did catch me a bit off guard though. Usually owners would reply on Unilocal so getting a phone call was very unexpected.

I like everything in this place, i love their beef kabob plate, the chicken shawarma is very very good just make sure to tell them easy garlic sauce, and all their food is fresh and tasty. «The food plate is enough and worth the price». I don’t want to forget to mention that the people who work there are very sweet and friendly.

Easily 4.5 stars. Fresh flavorful and filling! Tried the cheese appetizer and the feta was fabulous. Loved the Baba Ghanoush. The beef and chicken Schwarma were seasoned well and the rice had a nice lemony flavor. Falafel was a hit with the daughter and husband loves the pickled radish Garlic sauce OMG. Love that stuff!

I’m happy to have this spot so close to home! It’s easily my favorite Mediterranean place in the Valley. The food is fresh and delicious and everyone who works here is extremely friendly and welcoming! The Chicken Shawarma and Cheese Rolls are my go to… but I also have tried the Kabobs, and they are amazing too!

Tasty, fresh, great value. Had a chicken shawarma sandwich. It was very garlicky, which is perfectly okay with me. Flavorful, nicely wrapped and generous portion. Cordial cashier and prompt service. YUM!

Very good flavors, fresh and delicious. I found this restaurant down the street from my house and decided I’d give it a try because I love this type of food. I was not disappointed in any way. Ordering a pickup order online was fast and easy, and when I got there to pick up my food the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. I ordered the beef kabob entrée and I love it. The steak is juicy, tender and well marinated. The salad has fresh greens and a very good dressing and the hummus is great. I’ll be back. Thank you for the great service!

Ordered dinner to go yesterday and the entrees were tasty and more fresh this time around :) The lady at the front was sweet. 1. Chicken Kabob: chicken was tender, nicely seasoned and it comes with a side of garlic sauce! 2. Beef Shwarma: slices of marinated beef with a hint of butter mmm and comes with a side of tahini sauce Both entrees came with a small salad, hummus, rice and warm pita bread :) Located in the small plaza adjacent to Chevron; parking can be scarce

I have to say the previous reviews live up to the hype. A good Kabob spot is very hard to find in the valley and this place backs it up. I ordered the chicken kabobs and they were great. Nice and juicy and the size portions are nothing to complain about. Will be visiting this spot again in the near future.

I just tried this place for the first time for lunch, and the experience was splendid. It’s located on a strip mall near the corner of Corbin and Sherman Way next to 7 Eleven. Everything is made in house, and has an authentic taste. Though it’s more of fast casual atmosphere, the food is reasonably priced and portions are perfect. Spacious dining area and décor is colorful yet simple. I walked up to the counter and ordered the lamb kabob entrée. It came with side salad, grill tomato, rice, hummus, and 2 skewers of lamb. Great deal for $ 12.50. My order came with a complimentary pickled turnip and basket of pita bread. I’m not much of radish fan, but their pickled appetizers was tasty. I literally killed it and would have gladly asked for more, but wanted to maximize space for the rest of my meal. The lamb was tender and just, so good. Not gamey or smelly at all. It was cooked to perfection, well seasoned and juicy. Good chunk sizes and portion were just right. The hummus and the rice were delicious as well. All in all — I stuffed myself preeeety thoroughly and enjoyed everything. The food was nothing short of outstanding. Prices were good for the quality. I definitely looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes on their menu. Parking — private lot.

Tried this for the first time tonight. I searched for«healthy food» on Unilocal and this was the first thing that came up, had a good rating so I said why not. I called ahead to place my order. I tried their beef kabob plates with extra skewers of veggie and chicken kabobs. The food was soooo good, I definitely recommend this place to anyone that loves Mediterranean food or just anyone in general that wants good food or wants to try something new. I also had the cheesecake and the tiramisu. My favorite was the tiramisu, my mouth gets watery just thinking about it. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending it to people. You get 5 stars!!! Also the lady was really nice!!! I don’t usually tip on carry out orders but I just felt like I had to because I was so pleased with just the service alone while I waited there.

With a busy schedule ahead of me, I wanted to try something healthy and delicious to eat. It was suggested to me by a friend to try a local Mediterranean eatery. I used to eat a lot of Falafels years ago, but not as much recently. Since it was close to home and not reviewed as much, I wanted to try Gio’s Fresh Mediterranean in Reseda. Located on the southeast side of Sherman Way and Corbin right next to the 7-Eleven, you will find Gio’s Fresh Mediterranean. Gio’s is located in a small plaza and with a small amount of parking spaces. Most of the parking spaces are for compact cars. Imagine my huge truck trying to park in there. Glad that I came in about an hour before closing time. I was about to order via online, but I am glad I didn’t. The in-person experience would always be preferred. There were only a two customers when I came in at 7:50 on a Friday Night, but I did wait a little because there was only two staff members working. I was greeted by Diana, which I can safely presume is the owner of Gio’s. Since I was on a Falafel mood, it was straight and to order from the menu board. There is a marker board and a digital monitor with the menu. I ordered the #1: Falafel Entrée($ 9.00). The Falafel Entrée comes with five Falafels, hummus, basmati rice, pita bread with tahini sauce. Once you place the order, due note that it does take about 10 – 15 minutes to make. There is a disclaimer on the wall since the food is made fresh. While I was waiting, there are two TVs for you to watch whether you stay or takeout. I wanted to chat with Diana, but there was a couple who beat me to it and I just eavesdropped. It was like they were Unilocalers too. There was a customer who called and placed a delivery order online. Possibly through Unilocal. However, Diana said that the Gio’s delivery radius was 2 miles. The third party ordering system goes further out. As my Unilocal Tip for Gio’s, call them before placing an order. With a small establishment, this isn’t a big franchise that can deliver to the moon. I got my order and since the couple were still talking to Diana. I wasn’t able to inquire, but I will be my Unilocal chatter on my next visit. When I got home about 15 minutes later, it was still fresh. I opened up the container and I saw marvelous goodness. I got five Falafels versus the six that I read from other Unilocalers. That’s OK! It was filling enough. With the toasty pita bread, basmati rice, veggies, hummus, and Falafel, you have no choice, but to make a Falafel sandwich. Add some of that tahini sauce even more spectacular. Since I wasn’t able to score some free garlic sauce like the couple did, my meal would be GRAND! To end my meal, I devoured a handful of pink pickles. Of course, the saddest part of every meal is finish it. I think I found my place for Falafels, or at least, my re-ignited my love for Mediterranean food. This place needs a lot more love and I need to get some of the extra inside info on Gio’s. I haven’t had a kabob in awhile or the stuffed grape leaves. OK, I am getting hungry again! They need a Falafel Rewards Card because I would be a king of devouring it all! You think I write too much? Well, you can call me a Unilocal-O-Holic!
