We first visited The Brick on a Thursday. It wasn’t very crowded, the food was good, the waitress Kat was awesome, and the Brick Chocolate Mousse desert was AMAZING! We’re just visiting in town and planned a small birthday dinner for me and a friend whose bday is a few days after mine. We decided the desert was perfect, so I called to order some to go. The chef, Chris, was more than happy to set four aside for our party and even gave me a deal on it. I went to pick it up on Friday night, and the place was hopping! Live music and not an empty seat! I’m glad we were able to enjoy the place on a slower night, especially after traveling all day. And it was nice to see them doing so well on a Friday. I highly recommend this place. The philly beef dip was so tender and flavorful. The fries were perfect. I have zero complaints and this would be a regular hangout if I lived here.

This place is GREAT! Love the ambiance. Great cocktails and delicious food. I had scallops once! Quality ingredients and a nice break from the standard Bars and Grills that tend to dominate the area. It’s classy but laid-back without being overpriced.

We took other reviews into consideration and expected poor parking. The interior is very clean and inviting. I like the seating options. The overall temperature of the restaurant was on the cold side. I had an apple/rhubarb mule cocktail which was very good. It was hard to taste the rhubarb over the grapefruit, but it was still delicious. I chose the nachos for lunch; good flavor overall. I liked the cheese sauce and pickled peppers a ton, but I felt the pulled pork was missing a little something(maybe it was just difficult to taste how good it was over the tang of the peppers). It also came out cold and they were busy so I didn’t want to bother with it. Still enjoyable though. My husband had the steak; it was cooked perfectly and he was very happy.

I live in this neighborhood and it is within walking distance from my house which I love! If you knew my neighborhood, you would be skeptical of going into this pub/grill located on a busy corner of a small strip mall with a gas station there. What a wonderful surprise to walk in and see such a lovely restaurant and bar! We had dinner with our neighbors there(yes, we walked down) and it was very good! I, and my girlfriend had the Philly Dip which was VERY good. Hubby had the ½ pound burger and loved it(the french fries were good too) and my friends husband had the bacon mac n cheese which was made with penne pasta and he ate every bite of that also. Prices were very reasonable, service was prompt and friendly.(The waitress did not tell us about their specials though which are listed on the blackboard at the far end of the bar. I only saw this when I went to the restroom. It would have been nice if she would have mentioned them.) The only downside was they had live music that started at 6pm, guitar player/vocalist and bongo player and while they were very good, the music was very loud and I pretty much couldn’t have any conversation with my friends. After about 30 minutes or so though, the volume did get turned down and it was much better. Their menu says their food is ‘Local’ but I didn’t see where they listed where anything came from except the blackboard with the beer selection. It would also be nice if they made mention of where their meat and produce came from on their menu. The seating is nice, with some regular table, bistro tables and some comfy looking chairs and couches plus maybe 8 seats at the bar. Lots of TV’s on the walls will make it a fun place to watch Seahawk games. I am definitely looking forward to going back and trying out some more of the menu.

Tonight may have been an off night as we heard the waitress say they were short staffed. The E. J Matthews(apple/rhubarb moscow mule) was delicious for the entire 3 sips that were in the copper mug. Never have I seen so much ice in one mug! The drink boasted a candied ginger garnish but sadly this was forgotten. My partner and I were given a silverware set that was dirty and the food took over 50 minutes to arrive. I ordered a chicken salad without onions or tomatoes but it came topped with both tomatoes and onions. My partner enjoyed his brick philly sandwhich. Our waitress was very helpful and apologetic. I am not sure we will be back

This place hits on all levels: service, ambiance, food and drinks! We were in for brunch and really loved our food and breakfast cocktails. Tv’s easy to see from all areas to watch local sports, but not an overwhelming sports bar feel. We are excited to come back to try the 1−7pm happy hour on Sunday or dinner! This place is top 10 in Renton for sure. **We went back for dinner a couple nights later and we were even more impressed! The new bartender, Michelle, was awesome and made our experience great. The chef came through again with a customized vegetarian cheese/veg plate that blew us away. Wine choices are thoughtful and both be ordered were delicious. The owner Micah has been in the restaurant both times we visited and he’s very friendly and attentive to his guests. Keep up the good work Micah!

Firstly, great service! Answered any questions I had. I came early in the days when seating is on your own(a plus in my opinion). Despite this, there was no problems getting both happy hour and regular menus. Décor is something may or may not find useful in a review, so I will keep it short. It has warm and natural colors(dark brown wood tables and matching chairs, brick red or offwhite/tan paint with bare brick accents. Dim, easy on the eyes lighting and frames of photos of historical people/events/buildings. There are even some lounge chairs with endtables if you prefer that over a regular table. The bar looks like it seats around a dozen patrons. There are a few televisions that are set to sporta, but they are not located such that they create a sports bar ambience. Music is present in the background, but it isn’t overly loud, even when I was sitting directly in front of it. The food is superb.(i will update this as I try more of their food options). Most recently I had the marinated hanger steak with spring vegetables, fingerprint potatoes, and Dijon drizzle. Cooked perfectly to order, nothing overcooked or undercooked. Vegetables tender but retain some snappiness. They were zuchini and squash, mushrooms, and asparagus. Vegetables were grilled or broiled. Potatoes have a pleasant crust but aren’t dried out, appeared to be roasted and not fried. Dijon drizzle had a hint of sweetness, but retained the Dijon character. The hanger was cooked perfectly. A good sear, internally to order. The marinade is tough to pinpoint, but definitely has a well balanced salty+sweet profile. At the bar There were 8(i think?) beers on tap. A variety of options. Two or three dark beers(i distinctly remember a porter), two or three mids(at the time it was big so Amber and big al red), and a couple IPAs, and a couple blondes. There are a handful of house cocktails as well. No problems asking for custom orders there, either. They have a chalkboard near the kitchen that displays two specials for the day. They hold special events(if that is the correct term for it…) on occasion such as wine or bourbon tastings from specific producers. There does not seem to be any issue for groups around ten(there was a group of 7 at the time I came) due to the square shaping of their tables, but I recommend calling ahead of time if you come in a group greater than four! Oh, I forgot the happy hour menu! There are discounts for house cocktails, well drinks, draught, wine, and appetizers. The mini nachos I had were pulled pork, jalapeño, nacho cheese, guacamole, onion, sour cream, and I think jalapeño jelly. They came on a plate slightly larger than a saucer, but piled high. Definitely worth their 5 dollar price!

Was highly recommended by a peer. Enjoyed the ambience, bartender and food. Great service and knowledge of all ingredients in all meals prepared. The casking of fresh beer…

Vegan Option! The chef at The Brick was very accommodating and prepared a fully vegan meal for me — sw-style tacos with spicy mango salsa and corn tortillas. Everyone else in my party had a great meal too.

First of all our service was great. Our server was extremely pleasant and welcoming. When we came in it was«seat yourself» but our server/bartender was there almost immediately. The drink selection was great and the food was really tasty. We weren’t very hungry so we just got a couple appetizers. The French fries, which tasted like they were drizzled with truffle oil, were very good. They were hot and crispy and came with two dipping sauces; one garlic aoli and one chili aoli. The other appetizer was the deep fried cheese curds. The batter was light, fluffy and crispy. It also came with a dipping sauce, a jalapeño jelly. The combination was perfect comfort food. Drinks were a bourbon mule and a lemon drop martini. The environment was stylish with nice low lighting. The music was soothing playing some folk, rnb or other chill music, a nice mix. The only quirky thing about the place is the location. Its right off the main main road in a small strip mall and gas station. You wouldn’t expect anything less than a divey tavern. But its a real gem inside.

I would like to rate The Brick a 3.5 but I couldn’t bring myself to round it up to 4. Nothing really blew me out of the water but nothing was terrible either. The service was great. We swung by on Sunday for brunch. Our server got our orders in and they all came out in a timely manner. Steak Frites — I wish the dish in general had more flavor in it. Salt and Pepper wings — nicely seasoned and crunchy Mac & cheese — You can’t really go wrong with mac. Probably the best dish we had that day. Philly Dip Sandwich — was just alright. Coconut mimosas were refreshing and perfect for brunch. Would I come back? Probably not. Do I regret my visit? I do not. I think you should give The Brick a try for yourselves!

BPG is located in an unlikely spot(parking lot strip mall of a gas station) going up Sunset Blvd. It’s not a place that you would drive to unless you’re looking for it really or happen to be filling up on gas and hungry. I found this via Unilocal and wanted to try something new, I was skeptical when I saw it’s location but decided to try it out anyways. Parking is limited but inside the area is rather spacious. Despite us coming in on a peak dinner hours on a Friday night the wait for a table for four was no more than 15 minutes. We were quickly greeted by our waitress Sara Jean, she’s super friendly and quick and made a lot of great recommendations. We had, what felt like 25% of the menu! Chicken Wings: pretty basic for bar style wings, non crispy style wings and buffalo sauce, nothing to rave about. Pulled Pork Nachos: pretty solid nachos. the portion is small but a good size to share with two or three people as an appetizer. It wasn’t the low quality cheese that hardens in 3 minutes, it wasn’t ooey gooey like gas station cheese either tho. I do wish there was a bit more toppings to get flavor in every bite but overall a good dish. Macaroni and Cheese: yum. made with penne pasta and high quality cheeses and topped with ground bacon bits. I personally enjoy more gooey cheese but this was a clean dish with mild cheese flavors and very filling with every bite. Pulled Pork Sandwich: I’m not a fan of pulled pork sandwiches. This one didn’t sway me any other way either. Sweet sauce and lots of flavor. I think what pulled it all together(no pun intended) was the bread, very fluffy and perfect texture. Philly Rueben Dip: by far my favorite one on the menu. Tasted like a solid Philly Cheesesteak all on its own. You can dip it in the au jus sauce and let the bread soak in all the juice and it tastes even better. good size portion too along side with a load of fries. Top it all of with homemade cheese cake: i liked it a lot, soft smooth creamy finish, i do wish it had a graham cracker bottom as it always adds so much flavor Chocolate Mousse was very light in flavor and not overly sweet either. The vanilla ice cream was a great pairing for everything as it was fluffy in texture and not heavily creamed. Good food always tastes better with good company, the only thing that would make it better is great service and Sara Jean definitely delivered! She’s a sweetheart and I’ll definitely be back sooner than later!

Sooooo happy that this place is in my neighborhood! This is not your typical sports bar. This place has a fancy pub ambience, yet really relaxing atmosphere. Food is as amazing as any top notch gastropubs in Seattle. Oh yeah, super awesome friendly staff too!

Nice new place in Renton to grab a beer or dinner on a Friday night. The service was good and I actually really liked the food. I had the hanger steak and it was delicious, the vegetables were cooked perfectly and everything was well seasoned. The place is very nice on the inside, but I think maybe they should add more tables and try to fill in the space, it felt a little empty with lots of spaces among tables. It’s one of those things you don’t really notice until you visit a place like this and it doesn’t feel right. I don’t love the location though, like other people have mentioned they are located by a gas station and there aren’t many other businesses around, making it a little isolated.

My husband and I stopped in here tonight for a quick bite to eat. We just moved to Renton and are trying to find some good places to eat around here. The place was busy! First impressions of this place aren’t that wonderful. The restaurant is located in a tiny strip mall that includes a gas station. Parking is kinda tight, but we finally found a sign that that pointed us to additional parking around back. Once inside the restaurant, it’s great. Everything is new and nice, and the ambiance is a mix between a nice restaurant and a sports bar. I loved it. The waitress we had was awesome! We didn’t have any problems, but she was very attentive and friendly. Our orders were taken promptly and she checked in on how everything tasted… which leads me to my next point. I had the Caesar salad, which was good. The croutons were delicious. I also had the Mac n Cheese, which was yummy. It was a little spicy, but I’m a baby when it comes to spice. Nevertheless, it was good and I would order it again. My husband had the buffalo wings, which he reported as «above average.» Anyways, it’s a nice little gem tucked away into the corner of a weird strip mall. Don’t be deterred by the outside appearance!

Drove by this place and saw it was a brand new business so came in to try it out last week with a group of friends. The bar is very nicely decorated and there was a great mix of people inside. We opted to sit at the couches and get some drinks and appetizers to share. They have got some $ 3-$ 5 dollar happy hour food options and $ 5 and $ 4 dollar drink options. We ordered the Mac and cheese with bacon, fries, and buffalo chicken wings. The Mac and cheese was great I really loved the garlic and bacon on it. Also, the fries were fresh cut and fried and came with a delicious Rosemary ranch sauce. I had never had anything like it before, but it was quite enjoyable. The waitstaff was very friendly and nice. I could tell that they really loved what why were Doug which made it enjoyable to be in there. I would definitely come back to this place. My only thoughts for the future is, the parking kinda sucks. It’s in a lot with a gas station and other business in a strip mall which just makes it cramped. Also, I definitely think they could add a few more tables. They had a lot of open space.

After reading the reviews, I thought I’d check out The Brick for HH yesterday after work. Since it’s in close proximity to my house, I was glad to finally see a nice pub up in the Highlands. The interior is spacious with a sleek décor. As others have mentioned, don’t judge by the exterior, there’s a mighty fine pub waiting inside! I ordered the $ 5 house white wine, the $ 3HH house salad and the $ 4HH mini pulled pork nachos. They might be called«mini», but you get a hefty portion for 1 person; a large supply of pulled pork with house made cheese sauce, guacamole and pickled jalapeños, also done in-house. The nachos were excellent! The house salad is probably the nicest salad I’ve seen offered for HH, which came adorned with mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes, a good helping of bacon on tap and arugula and other greens. I’m sure many people would love this salad, but I would’ve preferred more spinach and romaine lettuce… it seemed very heavy handed with arugula which gives it a bitter taste. Service was great, the General Manager was friendly and one of the other bartenders(female, long blonde hair with tattoos) made it a point to strike up a friendly conversation and give me some background on how the dishes are prepared and went over what offerings are made fresh in-house, which is sounds like most of their menu is made from scratch. Great service, and excellent food. I’ll be back to try out their dinner options. Bottom line: The Brick is a mighty fine addition to the Highlands, be sure to check it out if you’re in the area.

I came here on the advice of my hairdresser, and was not disappointed. The Brick is by far the nicest bar and grill in Renton, hindered only by the strip mall location and limited parking. Once you go inside, you might be in a pub on Capitol Hill or in Ballard. But the staff are super friendly, more of what you would expect in a neighborhood hangout. It’s the best of all worlds, and in Renton! They have a great beer selection, some delicious-looking craft cocktails, and a menu that is pub food taken up a notch. And the prices are more than reasonable. We were there during happy hour, and had 2 beers(1 craft beer and 1 Rainier tall boy), a huge plate of their delicious handcut fries with aioli, and a crostini and olive plate, and with tax and 20% tip only spent $ 20! You just can’t beat that. Their dinner menu looked good and also reasonably priced. It would be nice if they could add a fish and chips entrée for us pescatarians, though! They certainly have the best fries to go with it. Thrilled that I live near this friendly, relaxing bar and grill!
