Classics Sports Bar

Love Classics! The food and drinks are great. Love the salads and the pizza! Pizzas are half price on Saturdays. Cindy is actually my favorite bartender and I like many in Renton, follow her for the great drinks and service. I’ve been going to Classics for at least 8 years and have never witnessed any of the horribly wrong and negative comments I read from ONE person. All the girls working there are friendly and as for music choices, I’ve heard hard rock and country just as much as I’ve heard rap. Being a long time and faithful customer I felt compelled to write this review after reading ONE person’s delusional thoughts about Classics.

Great place to hang out eat drink and play a few pulltabs. First time in but the bartender Cindy has me wanting to be a regular. I’ll be back!

Most definitely my favorite late night bar. I work at another dive-​y bar in the area and this is always where I go if I decided I want a drink after work. The crowd isn’t creepy or intimidating like most would think of a very local place like this, but the girls behind the bar are super sweet and serve you giant shots right up until two AM. I love this place.

Classics was one of the first places we went to when we moved to WA and despite the rumor that those from CA aren’t very much appreciated in this state the people and staff at Classics were very welcoming and friendly. We have been going back ever since and will continue to go. The prices are great, all the food we’ve had has been awesome, and the environment makes us feel like local bars we knew from home — chill, relaxed, people just looking to hang out and have a good time.

Good times. Good people. And cold beer. Enough said. Stop and say hi to Jewels. She is all about great service.

My favorite dive bar in the area! Food is great! Try the Blue Moon burger and Saturdays is ½ price pizzas the Philly cheese steak pizza is the best. Cheap happy hour drinks and one of the best Bloody Mary’s around. Plus and outside patio for a sunny day or if you smoke. Best kept secret in the South end.

Stop by every couple months to grab a quick bite to eat & drink while I wait.
Typical home town bar feel. The few times I’ve been in there, it’s the usual suspects. That’s a sign of a great business to me. Tells me not only does the staff take good care of their clients, they manage them well too. Let’s face it, bar customers can get a little unruly. I’ve seen a couple people start to wind up a little & the staff is quick & fast at diffusing hot situations.
Usually stop in Sunday evenings & the bartender, Jewel, is very friendly and attentive.
The place could definitely use some updating, particularly the women’s bathroom, but I’m usually in/​out.

Classics is exactly what I think of when somebody asks me for a friendly neighborhood bar in Renton. Bruce is incredibly generous for pitching in for our league fees to play rec basketball every season. Cindy always delivers 2 pitchers to our table without even having to be asked.
The food is hit or miss for the most part, but the pizza is outstanding. I definitely need to come in on a Saturday for the half price pizza! «The Classic» burger is a complete monstrosity of bacon cheesy goodness and will fill even the biggest of appetites.

Came here because they were willing to let us watch the big 10 network. Definite dive but they were nothing but accommodating. Only one waitress/​bartender but so attentive you wouldn’t know. She even recommended what was good (and not so good) without being asked. There’s nothing more I could ask for. Chimichanga Wednesday and bacon wrapped jalapeños were delicious and they have shuffleboard! We’ll definitely be back. Thanks Unilocal for the great rec!

Food was good, Drinks were good. It could use a cleaning crew once in a while though. They either don’t have one or they do it themselves. Other than that this place has everything you would ever want from a sports bar. Games, TV, a DJ etc.
We came with a couple of friends and enjoyed ourselves. Played pool, hit on chicks and overall had a great time.
Will be coming back for-​sure!

Was there on Saturday and had half price pizza. The best pizza in town. And the greatest bar tender my man Dave. He the best. Also the clam chowder is the best. Try this bar you will be hooked

I have been a long time patron of Classics for at least ten years. I especially loved going there in the summer time and sitting outside on their patio. Not anymore. The number one reason why we used to go to Classics was for the food, honestly, it was really good. Not so much anymore. I ordered the chicken fajita wrap they have always had on the menu and it was horrible there was no sauce on it at all– it was mostly green pepper with some meat. And the rest of the menu has went down the drain also. The menu was re-​vamped, less portions, less flavor, and more expensive.
I have noticed there is a new owner (a little grey/​white haired fella) who purchased Classics a few years ago. Being a customer who went there enough to notice the changes (but not a drunken patron who lives there) I tried to make conversation and be friendly to this new «owner» a few times. He has the social skills of a turnip but I still went there because of the food and drinks. The straw that finally broke the camels back was about two months ago. It was a weekday evening and I went there with my other half to get dinner and a drink or two. We sat at our seat for about 10 minutes until a young lady who I have never seen before came and took our order. She had long black hair and on the shorter side. We got our order in, waited for our meal. **Keep in mind** I do understand what it’s like to work in a busy bar and have to tend to customers I did this all through college years ago– Classics was NOT busy this night we went. I am an easy going, non high-​maintenance customer.
The cook brought out our food as he usually does and we proceed to eat our meal. The meal itself was not good at all. We never got checked up on by our server/​waitress/​bartender whatever she was. We sat there trying to eat our meal with empty drink glasses, no condiments, no service — nothing… By the time we were done eating we had to go to the bar to pay for our food and drinks.
The really irritating part is this twit who took our order was behind the bar taking to some guy and other bartenders about who knows what. The guy she was talking to was in his thirties and I assume he worked there, was the b/​f, or was the owners son. I could not believe nobody cared about our table one bit.
I won’t come back to this place ever again. Food stinks, service stinks, the management stinks. Take your money and spend it someplace else, you’ll be better off.

A great place to stop in and have a drink. Staff is good at greeting your orders in. Food is really decent for bar cuisine. Tacos are great on Tuesdays. Pizza is decent and thin crusted. I always get the chicken ceaser wrap which is da bomb.

This place would be better if they had more than one bartender/​waitress working the place. It seems that once the cooks finishes what they cook for you, they have to bring it to you themselves, because of the staffing issue. If you ask for silverware when you are outside on the deck, good luck trying to get it. We had to go inside to get it from the waitress, after we asked her twice for a fork. When we returned to the bar the next time the waitress complained about not tipping her, and asking her for a second fork when she was swamped, to which we never recieved a first fork to begin with. The waitress said that she isnt allowed to take food onto the deck outside. But she didn’t tell anyone else this when she and cooks brought out other people’s food onto the deck area.

Classics Sports Bar is a great local bar! Watched some of the NBA finals here and loved the fact that you could actually listen to the game, where most bars have music on and the TV on mute, this bar made a point of turning the music down and the TV volume up!
The bartender/​waitress was absolutely wonderful and Taco Tuesday was delicious!

Went here on Wednesday, to meet a friend who lives next door to this bar. We got a booth and enjoyed being able to watch several tv’s and all the different sporting events on each set. The music was a weeeee bit too loud for my liking… and it made conversation hard to hear. Had to repeat ourselves, multiple times. But, it was a fun environment and they had good food. Wednesday nights has a special with a chimachanga… and we got that split in two. Way too big to eat on our own. Our friends did the same thing. I would go back again. My only complaint would be the noise level of the music. When you can really hear the person sitting 3 — 4ft from you, that’s bad.

I’ve known Bruce Legas the owner for a few years. Met him when he managed a local Restaurant. He purchased Classics on Maple Valley Hwy in Renton, completely remodeled it and it’s now a great sports bar, serving really good food, on the outside you think it’s going to be one of the classic small pub bars, but once inside, it’s bright and decorated with Husky, Cougar, Seahawks, Mariners, Storm and T-​Bird Logos and jersey’s. Bruce has done a great job here, and when the Husky’s are out of town, this is the place we drive from Bellevue to go watch the game.
Great meal specials every day of the week, and fantastic steaks. Try this place.

Great classic sports bar! Hence the name classics. The owner is great and remembered us the second time we went in. The drinks are always strong! The Sirloin Friday is the best! Its an amazing steak. U can call ahead and custom order steak sizes up to 4lbs! Here’s to you real american hero. classics sports bar!
