I’m an avowed Two Big Blondes supporter because it carries clothes only for bigger women, it’s consignment, and it gives back to the local community(Jackson Street in the CD). But it’s nice to have a shop that’s relatively close — and doesn’t separate the larger sizes from the«regular» sizes. I went in only because I was looking for Sustainable Renton’s food booth near nearby Luther’s Table. Since no one was about, I decided to go in Chici Baby’s as I’d gone by several times and was curious what it contained. This store has a good selection of items, and even has a corner for men. All the clothes are in excellent shape — and the jeans have been ironed and put on hangars. The prices are fine as they’re well below new clothes prices, but still expect to spend $ 15 or so on a blouse or shirt. Quite a bit of church or party wear and even some work gear can be found. Shoes(I didn’t look at purses) were plenty and, at least when I went, were on sale. When I went in, a gentleman was at the till, but walked up to the front of the store to greet me. He made a bit of small talk with me, let me know he was available should I need anything, and went back to the till. When an older and younger lady walked in, he also came to the front and greeted them warmly. If I have any clothing needs in the future, I definitely will be by. And I am recommending this place to those in Renton who are looking for good quality items at a decent price. So why didn’t I rate it five stars? One, because although I needed nothing, there wasn’t anything that made me buy, anyway. Two, the $ 5 rack outside should have been more like the $ 1 or $ 2 rack. Three, because there was a no name brand blouse priced the same as a designer blouse. Four, most of the clothing, while very nice, just wasn’t really my style. (Note: I originally rated this 3 stars. But for the effort, location, the broad range of items in the store, and the gentleman’s nice greeting, I decided to add an extra star. We need more places like Chici Baby’s and less big name stores.)

This little place is great for costume supply or just cool vintage wear. I went there to get some finishing touches for a murder mystery dinner, but wished I had gone here first. So many options and fun stuff — and very reasonable prices.

This store reminds me of my great auntie’s living room. She would fill every breathing inch with some knick or knack or decorative goodie and it was an obstacle course trying to get through without sending a Precious Moments baby crashing to its death. Chici Baby’s is very similar. Packed to the gills with clothing, shoes, bags, and decorative frippery it is a wonder I didn’t knock it all over. The owner is a gem, very warm and gregarious and genuine. There is a lot of vintage, a lot of business wear and a little menswear. It is definitely suitable for the dressy lady of a certain age, maybe 45 to 70, who has a penchant for sparkles. I will always stop in and see what she has though, it’s worth the visit.

I *LOVE* the selection of purses, hats, and earings! I’m not sure the clothing is my style, but I’d say there is definitely something for everyone at this shop!
