Definitely recommend it! Get the tough stuff out of the way: Has some noise issues at times with the volume level on the music — however, if you ask the waitstaff, they will adjust it — they will also change it if you aren’t a big fan of what is playing. The nightly karaōke was a bit much at times for nonkaraoke fans — however they have taken note and only offer it on select evenings. Turnover on waitstaff — while ideally a restaurant will have consistent staffing and employees who know the menus inside and out, Casian has the sweetest staff around but a few of them can definitely use more training. If there is something you notice they need improvement on, kindly point it out to them — that’s how they get better. As well, there is more of a consistent vibe with the staff we’ve seen lately. The owner and waitstaff do want to improve and do want to succeed in Renton and make their Casian Grill one that you enjoy — the only way for them to do that is to provide feedback. That being said. .. all of the above are things the restaurant is working on improving and most people would say have improved greatly over the past year. The food is excellent and definitely earns a *****(5 star) rating — and this is for both the Cajun and Asian foods. The beef chow fun and mongolian beef are the best around, the dirty wings are to die for and definitely addictive(on that note, the dirty frog legs are fantastic as well), the sea snails are superb(the ginger sauce on them makes you forget you’re eating snails), the crawfish are delectable(even for a noncrawfish fan), the filet is incredible and the multi-course meals are amazing — especially fun to try with a group! The ambiance in there is fun and festive — while not elegant dining by far and not a bar either, a fun mix of the two. A spot you can take your kids and still enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a bar’s «fun» setting. The décor is simple — and perfect. The owner is a die hard Renton fan and supported a Renton artist with the paintings in the restaurant. To me, décor with a meaning(especially one like this) will top interior decorator paid for curtains any day of the week. The waitstaff is extremely friendly and very accommodating. The owner is beyond belief! One of the nicest and friendliest establishment owners in the City of Renton. Always willing to do what it takes to take care of his customer. Develops friendships with his customers that are unbreakable. Supports multitudes of local Renton businesses, teams, establishments and ventures. His unswerving support of «Renton» is cause in itself for Renton residents to get out and support this business. The food and restaurant are enough to keep on coming back! Would have given it a 4.75 star rating if Unilocal allowed it. .. :-) While we give it a 4star in our rating due to some of the above listed areas where they are working on improvement, we keep coming back —- at least once a week —- in hopes of trying everything on the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet!

One of the best thing about this is definitely their crawfish! It was very fresh and flavorful. It is located right in down town Renton. The staff is friendly and place has a nice vibe to it!

Casian grill gets lots of attention and so I thought I would check it out for the food. What a huge dissapointment. I ordered an array of dishes and every single one lacked flavor. Even the nuoc mam taste like water I mean that itself should at least have come sort of taste. I was so sad and the only good thing about this place was my company and the many tvs with all the sports I could get. Good place to drink I guess!

I heard good things about this place and when I showed up they were not busy at all. I sat at the bar for at least 15 minutes before the waitress acknowledged me but I am the one who had to ask her for water. I waited for another 20 minutes before I got my water. I was not asked once if I wanted a menu or a drink. I sat patiently because I was visiting with a friend. I then had to beg a waitress for her attention to get a drink. I just gave up and ate air that night. If it were not for me saying to a friend I would have walked out of this place. I will NEVER go back there… you would have to pay me to even walk in the door.

Born and raised in the Renton area, but been around, tried many different kinds of food in many different places and somehow, did not know about this spot. I got back late one night from a trip, and had a big craving for some good asian food. I live on the eastside and nothing is ever open past 10pm and I did not want to drive to Seattle. Unilocal saved the day and I saw this, checked out the menu and the cajun asian thing got my attention. I placed and order to pick up for some of the dirty wings and some fillet mignon. Being that this place is a bar in Renton serving food, I honestly did not expect much. Got home, and wow, the food was really good. So good that it really got me more excited for the fact that they also have a ton of cajun dishes. In the past few weeks, I have gone like 4 different times, each time trying new things and bringing new people with me. I have had many dishes, both cajun and vietnamese and everything is outstanding. I have still yet to try the crawfish, which is what i am dying to get, most of my friends are afraid of stuff like that, but I might just have to get myself an order next time because I cant wait to go back and try something new. Aside from the food, which is amazing. The bar is cool. It has a really good vibe to it, the staff are fun and friendly as are the patrons who frequent the bar. It is a bit loud, so dont expect it to be a formal dining experience. But if you want a fun place with a good crowd, or some amazing food, seriously try it. I plan on being a regular with food that good. Just had the Seafood Gumbo tonight, some of the best ive had on the west coast. 5 stars all the way. Really great for groups also, lots of things to share and try. Large menu with tons of choices, both asian and cajun. –Chris

Went to this spot around 12ish after we hit the bar on a sunday night. Being in a group of extremely drunk people, we got a big table and ordered a buttload of catfish, quail, chicken, oysters, MORE beer, MORE shots, and fries. Maybe I was really hungry from the drunk munchies but the food was DELICIOUS! I swear I’ve never had fried catfish but it was SOOGOOD! The quail was like a punch in the mouth. Really crispy and flavorful! The noise level was loud, but it was the kind of friendly loud that if you were drunk, you wouldn’t have minded because you would be happy with the food and other drunk people :) They’re waitresses were really nice and cute too. The manager was nice enough to make sure we got home okay. I’d definitely go back for more catfish. My friend told me about the craw fish(they were out that night), next time I’m going to try it.

Someday is good and someday is not. I really like the fact that their crawfish have lemongrass flavor so I take my chance anyway. I feel like their prices is completely over price because there customer service is below average, never seem to keep the food quality the same and noisy.

Huh. This isn’t your average Asian spot, whether for better or worse, I’m not totally sure. Full disclosure, this place sounds and feels like a dive bar with a look and menu that wants to be a restaurant, but can’t quite pull that side off. Now if you wanted a bowl of crawfish and a few drinks and to sing along with some bad songs, sure. But this 2 star is for a the dinner experience. Ambience: Hip hop and pop hits. Eh. Not so cozy. ESPN on the flatscreens, I’ll forgive it. Food: Happy hour catfish nuggets and quail, pretty good. Small plate of flavorful foods. Best things I had here. Vietnamese food, hastily thrown together with a few unforgivably canned ingredients(I’m looking at you, pineapple). Shrimp boil, great flavor, but sadly overcooked(just had a fantastic shrimp boil a couple weeks ago, this pales in comparison). So. Eh.

The food here is sooooo good, but also soooooo pricey! I had wanted to try this place for so long and when I finally did, I went 4 weeks in a row! They have items on their menu that I haven’t really seen anywhere else and that’s what keeps me interested and going back. The must-haves are: — Dirty wings. These things are addicting. Every time I go with friends, we get 2 orders. I advise you do the same. — Crawfish or shrimp, combination flavor. Warning: These are spicy! Even though you can order your level of spice, a 0 is still spicy because of they way it’s cooked. — Baby clam salad. Also addicting and spicy. The salad comes with big rice crackers to scoop up all the yummy goodness. Pay attention to your receipt at the end of the meal. The prices on the receipt are almost always different than what is on the menu. You’d think that they would already have new menus printed instead of always saying that the menus are in the process of being updated?

Not sure if it’s just me but everytime I came here this place is always completely empty! maybe people like to eat crawfish really late here? First time came here, I thought their crawfish was actually good. I’ve only tried the lemongrass flavour so not sure about the other. But it has the right amount of spice, I usually get 3 star spicy and it was perfect for me. Although for the price that they’re charging the crawfish is a bit small. However, they’re not very consistant, the last time I came here maybe because they were really slow all day, but the crawfish tasted stale and old. They also put way too much paprika powder that it was very overwhelming. Service was alright, at least they’re not rude.

I can’t handle very spicy foods but upon the strong suggestion of a good friend I ordered the 2 alarm cajun crawfish. This was my first time ever having crawfish so I got a quick lesson from my friend on how to eat and shell the crawfish, which I quickly learned are basically mini lobsters. There is some work involved just to get a little bit of crawfish meat but it is well worth it. The corn and pieces of sausage cooked in with the crawfish were a nice addition to the meal. The $ 2 Stella Artois beer I had as part of the late-night happy hour was an even better addition and useful in cooling off some of the spice. I also enjoyed the fried catfish which was beautifully cooked and served with a nice remoulade sauce and OMG… SWEETPOTATOFRIES! I love sweet potato fries with a passion and wish more restaurants offered them. The 2 nice women who took our orders were very nice and we all struck up a nice conversation before leaving. I’m so happy my first crawfish experience was a great one.

So here I am, leaving Casian Grill, on an EMPTYSTOMACH! Why, you ask? Well for starters, the waitress’ are not organized at all(you’ve got two people taking your orders, and neither one has any clue what they’re doing!), 3 orders were misunderstood by the aforementioned waitress’ and brought out incorrectly, the horrible techno being played was so loud we could not communicate with them effectively, and two of our orders came out late. Not just late folks, an order of crawfish fried rice that was ordered as an entrée by one of the members of our dinner party came out 20MINUTES after everyone else’s meal!!! And lastly, my food appeared as dishes were being cleared. I’m a very reasonable person, but even I don’t have the patience to deal with such ridiculous service. When we asked for a manager, a young girl came to speak to us. We asked her if she thought my meal should comped or at least taken back since I couldn’t eat it anymore, and she answered as a small child, or maybe a puppy would do… She turned her head to the side and blinked in confusion. Not only did we have to insist on my meal being taken back, but she argued that the confusion was not their fault when clearly their menu and her servers told us it was their fault. The sad part about this, is the food is really delicious. Unfortunately, when service is this terrible, it takes away from what is really at hand here. I’ve worked in the customer service industry since I was 16. I’ve never written a bad review. I’m sorry this had to be my first. When I was told that there was a crawfish place in downtown Renton, it was done. I LOVEEE crawfish and being that it’s closer to my house than Crawfish King in the ID, I was super excited to try it out! So D and I went for our valentines day dinner here(romantic huh? psh who cares!)because one thing that’ll win my heart is a good crawfish place. :) :) We walked in and right away I noticed the big paintings of celebrities on both sides of the walls and the booming ‘clubbin’ music. We were greeted with big smiles and was told that we were in time for their happy hour(monday — friday 3−6pm) $ 2 beers tap and bottle? Hecks yeah! One Blue Moon from tap with an orange slice please. My fav. :D I glanced over their happy hour menu which looked good(ooo papaya salad!) but I was there for one thing and one thing only… their cajun crawfish! We were told by our friendly waitress that there was a special going on. buy 4lbs and get one lb for free. Hmmmm can we handle 5lbs of crawfish? Hecks yeah! Bring it on! So we ordered it in garlic butter which I was told was the best. Our 5lbs came in two big silver bowls, one which was 2 stars and the other 3 stars. We each got two small bowls of lemon wedges which is a must and also two small bowls of additional cajun seasoning for that added ‘kick’. Our big silver bowls consist of crawfish(duh) and corn on the cobs and sausages all drowned in deliciousness of fresh garlic and spices. Now I’m not the best at peeling crawfish which I don’t know why. I’m good at crab. shrimp… king crab… lobster… but not crawfish! I’m slow at it so my wonderful D who is more of a expert than me kept peeling away and gave me handfuls of crawfish meat which I gobbled up within a few mins. hehehe… :) The juices from the crawfish was so sweet and had great flavor from the fresh garlic. Mmmmm… And downing it with a cold Blue Moon. Omg bomb! Took us a while but we eventually polished off 5lbs of crawfish while listening to the awesome mixes of ‘clubbin’ music they had going on while also watching the flat screen tvs of basketball. Our waitress convinced us we still had room for some of their flan which we agreed and she also suggested to add some ice cubes to it so keep it cool with each bite. It was yummy! The texture of the flan was different from others I’ve tasted but to me it was good. Definitely will be coming back for more crawfish because those little tiny lobsters are worth the $ 9.99/lb. We were told to next time try out their combo which is the garlic butter and lemongrass($ 11.99/lb) for the added tangy flavor to it. Mmmm can’t wait! Drool…

I love Casian Grill — Best place to eat and drink beer even after mid-night. I ate almost everything on the menu. If you want something off the menu you can asked the owner Tony and they will tell you what they have special for the night. The crawfish is so yummy. It was so savory. I couldn’t stop licking the flavors off my fingers. They also have Karaōke after 9pm. I highly recommended.

Too loud and unwelcoming to eat there. Went there on a Monday at 7pm. No one was sitting at the tables, 2 men were at the bar. Football on the 5TV screens was so loud that we couldn’t be heard by the waitress, who made no effort to turn the volume down. When I hinted that it was so loud we probably wouldn’t sit, she gave us a take out menu rather than doing the sensible thing of turning down the TV volume. Make no mistake, this is a restaurant, not a bar. There was no excuse for the noise to be this loud. I could have forgiven the fact that the space is sparse and glaringly lit if the noise allowed conversation. But having a football game broadcast at louder levels than you would for a Super Bowl Party for TWO patrons at the counter? No thanks. I haven’t eaten crawfish in months and was craving it, but this place was too unpleasant to stay in for more than 2 minutes. If they fix the lighting and kill the TVs, I might try it. Otherwise, Crawfish King is delicious and has a way more pleasant atmosphere. I should have just gone there instead.

I felt like I was betrayed by an old, best buddy tonight. Sure, I constantly rave about Casian and their food, even after a couple of incidents of overcharging and failure to correct their menu, I persevered. «No, they have great food and they are a new business so just let it be…» Tonight is the third strike. When the bill arrived I was not a happy camper. There were two pages on the menu with two different prices. After denying that the menu price stated $ 12.99 vs. the $ 14.99 they charged me, I had to pull out their menu and point it out. Also, additional noodles and veggies were supposed to be $ 1, not $ 4. Upon this revelation, the waitress simply stated they were typos and really didn’t seem to care. Again, the same excuse as before; this is the third time they had the same menu and«in the process» of updating over the past 4 weeks. They know I am a frequent visitor and have spent hundreds of dollars there but yet I still get this treatment. Since the first time I visited, the prices have increased by several dollars all over the menu and now most items are overpriced especially for the Renton area. Happy hour looks to be the only real time to get a decent price though you get only half the normal portions. A demotion is in order for Casian for the following reasons: a) steep increases in price since opening b) decline in customer satisfaction and service c) conflicting menu prices After further thought and a short cost/benefit analysis of the above, it would appear that I would be better off driving to further locations then have to argue about prices and up-charges with the staff.

Had a late night craving for crawfish and the only place open late is casian. I’ve never been here before today but I got a friend that was also hungry and craving for crawfish so here we are 11pm going to get some crawfish. We get there and the kitchen is closed at 12 so we make our order for 3 lbs of crawfish. While waiting for our food we were so graciously entertained by karaōke and some people come in that I knew so we joined tables up and ate as a group. They ordered their food and we sat back drinking beer and listening to the music. The food is pretty good crawfish is good, yet i prefer cajun crawfish this did its job. My friends ordered the goi ga, and the bo luc lac both which looked good but i was stuffed by the crawfish already. After we finished eating we sat back sang a little and just chilled the place closes at 2 am so its a great place to chill on the weekday. Best Viet food in Renton. Everyone should go check it out!

Just recently opened on 05.01.10 — Located in Downtown Renton you will find a place that has Casian Food! I went here after hanging with the Seattle Unilocal Squad at Kona Kitchen UYE so I was still really full but their sign lured me in… I was curious of what Cajun & Asian food blended together could bring. The owner was really nice & explained what the food was all about! He mentioned that he was tired of all the food choices in the area & wanted to create food that his Friends & Family could enjoy! From looking at their menu they brought together Vietnamese & Cajun Style dishes. I ordered the Fried Catfish in a Cajun batter with fried rice & Salad. It was tasty and with(2) beers it did the trick while I watched the Lakers vs Jazz game on their multiple flat screen displays! Theres lots of unique stuff on their menu that I want to try! I’m going to order some Frog Legs nextime! either with Spicy Sauce or Tamarind Sauce… as an alternate you can order Fried Chicken: D They serve CRAWFISH! from 5pm — 10pm. With 3 styles to choose from Original Boil, Garlic Butter or Lemongrass. The owner recommended lots of good choices to check out the nexttime I visit: D Cool Place for Good Asian Drinking Food! =D Check out the many Pictures posted for order choices. 4 Stars Unilocal Stars… I will update my review soon. It was fun getting down & dirty eating those Galic Butter Crawfish! YUM. They are open Monday — Friday 10am — 11pm Saturday 9am — 9pm Sunday 9am — 7pm **FYI: They are having a Grand Opening Special where you receive 20% off until May 31st! =D
