Regular diner fare, come out quickly and hot. The wellness on the burgers was off, but not the end of the world. showed them the Unilocal coupon before ordering but was still not applied to the bill. Didn’t notice until after we paid.

Chris, our waitress, was very friendly and helpful. She made the morning just that much better. Food are fast and good. Prices are very reasonable. Need some update on décor.

It was packed when I was there on Friday for lunch. I had a salad which was good for a diner salad, except that it was $ 9.49 with chicken. My companion had«crab» cakes on hash browns with fries, a dish which the waitress said was her favorite. I liked their raspberry iced tea. I noticed another patron had a HUGE Belgian waffle covered in whipped cream. This is a solid, good quality diner. No frills but no real downers. Interesting wall art makes it above the local Denny’s or IHOP. I’d take Mom there.

What impresses you most when you walk in is the cleanliness. The service was fast and courteous. The food was great and at a good price.

The home fries are by far the best thing here. They have good prices and decent food but you must have the home fries. My sister got chocolate chip pancakes and loved them. I’ve had a variety of sandwiches and some of their lunch options and they are normal dinner food.

My friends and I stopped in for brunch before our train to NYC. I had the Meat Lover’s Omelette which was delicious — the meat was perfectly spread out through the omelette; the cheese was evenly melted; and rhe home fries were tasty and just the right amount of greasy. Restaurant looked clean, service was friendly and quick, and the restrooms were in good order. Would come again.

The most amazing roast beef and friendliest old school waitresses. Oh and don’t forget the portion size, amazing! You could easily drive by but don’t, this is a gem and my wife and I new favorite place, we live 3 minutes from here and pass it by all the time, but no more! Do your self a favor and frequent this clean, friendly place. The only thing missing is a liquor license! Did I mention that the last two times I went there they had their water turned off due to construction, you wouldn’t know it by the staff who were so down to earth and honest, going back Saturday, maybe every Saturday!

Delicous. We love coming here. Skyline has a variety of menu items. I must also mention their chicken quesadilla is amazing. Other recommendations; bacon chesseburger, Greek salad wrap and all breakfast items are great. Located off 9&20 in Rensselaer.

Very clean place to have a meal. Had the loaded fries for an appetizer and then the twin cities Berger. The Berger was very good though a tad on the messy side. Prices are reasonable and friendly wait staff.

Nice clean spacious atmosphere. A typical breakfast with adequate service. Our food was served exceptionally fast. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a casual and typical breakfast fare.

Great food for less money. They can still improve on there cleanliness with utensil but it’s not too bad at all. They can use better coffee brand as well. Over all food is good for the price. Great omelettes and soups. Some place for improvement but overall a great diner.

Had breakfast there this morning. I found the pancakes to be a little tough, but think it wouldn’t take much for them to be better; fluffy and lighter. The home fries were dry. My request for crispy bacon did not disappoint. However, the one thing and the most important thing that did disappoint me was the coffee. It was like drinking brown water. When the server came over with the coffee pot, I could see through the coffee. Servers were wonderful. Very nice family atmosphere. So if the Skyline could improve those couple of things I would definitely come back.

Great food! I’ve never been disappointed with anything I have ordered from here. I’ve had breakfast and lunch. Both are superb! Friendly staff and the facilities are very well maintained. Very authentic diner! My kind of place.

I was contacted by the owner inviting me to try their recently upgraded Hot Turkey Sandwich again, so I indeed did try it. WHATANIMPROVEMENT! I ordered it with brown gravy instead of the yellow; it was actual carved-roasted-turkey meat this time. I ordered with the mashed potatoes which were also very good. My only gripe about this dish is that it lacked a vegetable, corn, broccoli, steamed green beans, or jelled cranberry would go well with it, perhaps as a dinner upgrade? I don’t know what else they have in the back, or how time consuming that would be so I can’t really hold it against them. I tried to order a small side ceaser-salad to complement the starch from the bread & potatoes, I was told they will only sell a large ceaser. I ended up settling for the small garden salad. Why could they do a small garden, and not a small ceaser? I don’t know; I would’ve been willing to pay somewhere between the small garden, and the price of the full ceaser to order what I wanted. I still love this place.

The Skyline is a good choice for breakfast. I’ve had eggs, french toast and other specialties that have been good. I’ve also had lunch here a couple times. Most recently I had a open faced turkey sandwich, which included mashed potatoes, a drink, and a crock of soup for $ 8.50. Great deal. However, the turkey was sliced deli meat on a couple pieces of white bread slathered in canned yellow gravy(yuck!). It was not good. My dining partner had the jitterbug, a frozen hamburger patty on a couple pieces of white bread slathered with canned beef gravy. We both agreed the crock of soup was the highlight of the meal because it tasted like it was the only thing that didn’t come from a can. They change over to the lunch menu at 11am(even on weekends), and they have a very limited all day breakfast menu, which is why I ended up with canned yellow gravy. That’s a disappointment. Diners are supposed to have good breakfast selections all day! So I can only recommend this place for breakfast. Skip the lunch, it’s not worth it.

Woohoo! Another great diner on my diners list! This is a great place to stop before taking the train at Amtrak, and we have been coming here for a while. Very reasonable price for the food. Salad is around $ 7 — $ 8 and comes with soup. My friend got Chicken Caesar Salad and there were lots of meat in it. My Reuben sandwich was great too. We’d love to come back again and try others on their menu. Love this place!

This is a conventional diner. No spin, no sass, no screw-ups. Ask for it and you get it. Want to substitute something? Sure, no problem. Lunch specials that feel specially priced. $ 8 with tea and soup! At least five bucks cheaper than the rest around and good. I’ve eaten here at least five times and continue to return. It’s not fancy, but it’s certainly not a dive either. Worth stopping.

Stopped in for Lunch today with my Wife. Once again we were treated to prompt seating, friendly/personable waitress, delicious and inexpensive food: Wife: Clam Chowder — a little too much potato, but good flavor and abundant clams Me: Chicken Gumbo — Perfect… delicious. wanted to get seconds Wife: BLT w/fries — bacon was perfect for her(soft not hard and crunchy), veggies crisp and cold. Not sure how they are doing their fries now, but they were VERY tasty. Not the normal«from the freezer to the fryer» kinda french-fry. I nearly ate half of them myself. Me: Open faced meatloaf sandwich with mashed potato & gravy — This was good, but could have used either a mushroom or onion gravy to kick the flavor up. The meatloaf was hot, moist and filling, but a bit bland for my taste. Two full lunches with drinks and out the door with tip for $ 20. Can’t do that at many places these days. A pleasure as always.

For all you diner lovers(especially those of you in the NY Capital Region since there really aren’t many great diners out here, oddly enough), this is the place to go. If anyone remembers the Skyline’s immediate predecessor, «Vivian’s Diner», which served great food at a fantastic price with wonderful service, this is basically the new and improved version(minus Vivian and her husband). The new owners did a really nice job fixing up the interior and revitalizing the building. Definitely a pleasant place to eat. On to the food: Only breakfast so far for me. Delicious omelets, home fries, and french toast. Eggs Benny is only $ 6.99 and quite tasty. Definitely one of the best benny’s you’ll find around here for the price. Most importantly, the coffee is good and strong. Highly recommended.
