Just passing through town, wanted an amazing meal and was not, no, I was over welmed by the hospitality of the staff immediately. they took excellent care of me and served me a wonderful rib eye the likes of which I have never seen, paired with a delicious Pinot. Along with the owner, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Bonn!

We walked in at 5pm. The restaurant was empty, but we were seated only after a few mins, because the staff were still setting up. We tried to place order for the $ 26.95 prime rib dinner that they advertised in the hotel room booklet, but not listed in the menu. I checked with our waiter, a Vietnamese dude named Benam, that it was available 3 times before I place the order. He assured us it is available. Guess what, more than 15 mins later, after we were served the soup, he told us it was not available, and to choose a different entrée. It was too late by then for us to leave the restuarant, since we already drank the soup(part of the dinner set). Fine, we chose different entrees. To be fair, they tasted decent. We also ordered a mac and cheese after seeing the pic of it on Unilocal. We got a shock when we were serve KRAFT mac and cheese. When we asked the waiter, Benam, about it, he said that their $ 8 mac and cheese has always been like that, because it is for kids. Right. When we ask if we can just cancel the order since we didn’t touch it yet, he rolled his eyes and brought the dish away after staring at us. I’m not sorry that I refuse to pay $ 8 for something that cost less than $ 2(we were not even serve the entire box. Lol?) Obviously the dinner turned out really awkward because Benam became the ultimate queen bitch after that. Cleared our dishes loudly after asking rudely if we are done. When it came to choosing dessert, when my husband ask for bread pudding, he sarcastically said oh, are you sure, because I don’t think I can trust you now. WTF. I was really worried that the staff might spit in our dessert after that. But my husband said that I should have more faith. I am writing the Unilocal review at the table, while eating my dessert skeptically. Can’t wait, because my blood is freaking boiling. I rarely write bad reviews, most of my reviews are 4 or 5 stars, but this 1 star is freaking deserving. I left tipping Benam, your highness, $ 8 to thank him for removing the mac and cheese from our orders. If I had thicker skin, I wouldn’t have tipped at all. Edit: husband spoke to the manager and she apologized. She said the mac and cheese we were served belongs to the kids menu, and they mixed it up. Just added a star(from 1 to 2) because the manager is super nice about it. See, I’m not that hard to please!!!

The new chef, Arjel Guno is amazing! The stuffed mushrooms are the best in Reno. Perfect texture and absolutely delicious. Everything was plated beautifully. The chef was able to make us a special entrée to suit dietary restrictions. The staff was superior. Highly attentive and detailed. The entire meal was wonderful and highly enjoyable. Thank you Chef Arjel for an amazing dining experience.

My wife & I dine here every time that we’re in Reno(which is often since we’re a short drive away in the Bay Area). The ambiance is great and food is amazing here. The drinks are excellent as well. Our favorite server has to be Veronica. She is always so attentive and engages in conversation with us while serving our food at blazing speed. We will be back soon and request Veronica’a section.

We were greeted by Karen who was extremely helpful and informative. We were with our 13 year old son and the menu doesn’t really have any kid friendly options so she went to the back, came back and offered us unofficial off menu items for the kid which worked out well. The food was pretty tasty despite all the negative reviews and I’m pretty picky about food. Our server Matu was not very helpful I think the language barrier caused some miscommunication. However, he did offer to go next door to get ice cream because they only had strawberry. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Our table neighbors were entertaining so we enjoyed ourselves. I would recommend The Steak House at the Circus.

Could have been a fantastic dining experience. Wine list is decent, and they don’t jam you up too hard for a bottle of wine. The shrimp appetizer was ok, very large shrimp, but like all the seafood here, previously frozen, including the so-so lobster bisque, in which you would be hard pressed to find any lobster at all. The crab cakes were very good. The salads were good, including a very nice balsamic vinaigrette. The bread and butter was fresh and excellent. My entrée of lamb topped with foie gras and burgundy mushrooms in pastry was very much overcooked, but still outstanding. Others in my party had the rib eye and the osso bucco, and both were reported as excellent. A very nice atmosphere, well decorated, classy establishment, and they put us in a private banquet room so there was no noise level at all. Since the room did have a large flat screen mounted, we asked to put the game on, with the sound off, since we all had money on it. The TV was not hooked up. Really? Fix that. Anyway, prices were pretty reasonable and the food was good. Service was a problem. Our party of 7 had an 8:00 reservation, but a couple of us wandered in early to have a drink at the bar around 7:15. I happened to walk in with a drink, but my companion didn’t and went to the bar to grab one. He literally stood at the end of the bar, leant over with his elbows on the bar for over 8 minutes while the bartender served other people, or washed glasses when no one else was there. My friend was in shorts and a T-shirt, but hey, it’s Reno. So the bartender was either completely incompetent, or just an asshole. From the impossible to miss position of my friend, I am leaning towards the latter. Anyway, I grabbed him up and we went downstairs to have a drink at the sports book. Where the bartender watched us walk up, met us at the bar and had drinks to us in under a minute. So, fail on bartender service. Next, our waiter. Nice guy, from Sri Lanka I think. Personable and treated us well, when he found the time to come by. Everything was sooooo slow. From drink orders to drink delivery to food orders to appetizers to the check, this guy had two speeds — slow and stop. Came by just once during the main course to refill wine and water. Once may not be too bad, but since we were there 2 ½ hours, it’s not exactly stellar service. Since we were in the back room, he simply forgot about us. After collecting all our plates and us refusing dessert or coffee, he just vanished. We sat there for 15 minutes waiting on the check. As it approached 10:30, and we had been there since 8, all of us were getting uncomfortable and wanted to leave. We were forming a search party to go find the waiter and get the bill, when the guy at the head of our table saw him walk by in the corridor outside the banquet room and managed to yell loud enough to catch his attention. So, the food was great and the place is very classy looking, but the service needs help. For our $ 600 bill, I would expect to be treated better. And don’t go unless you have some time to kill…

What a nice surprise!!! We had reservations at Sterling steakhouse and upon checking in we went downstairs to confirm our reservations and ask if they have a children’s menu or did anything for the children they said no they do not do anything for the children and made us feel uncomfortable about even asking our children are not small 11 and 12 and very well behaved they’ve eaten in many fine restaurants however this restaurant in particular gave us the impression children were not welcome so we canceled our reservations. That was the best thing that happened. My husband and son went walking around and ran into this hidden gem!!! From Jeanette at the front desk Who absolutely went out of her way to accommodate us and the children to our server Matu and Monique the manager! Hospitality and customer service A+ and the food did not disappoint either my oldest son and my husband had the fresh seasonal fish which was Seabass absolutely out of this world I had the mixed Grill which had petite filet lamb chop and salmon it was amazing. my youngest son was offered a children selection he had chicken tenders with french fries and macaroni and cheese and he was very happy. We believe things happen for reason and we were thrilled to find this little hidden gem the steakhouse at Circus Circus whenever we come to Reno we will be back!!!

My family was really hesitant just to enter because we aren’t really the fancy type(especially with four kids present), but ended up walking in and very much enjoying our stay. Even with a group of seven we were seated right away and our orders were taken shortly after. It did take a little long for our food to arrive but we didn’t mind this as when we dug in, food was all we could think about! I can’t pronounce most of the items we ordered, but in short, everything from the appetizer soup to the main course was amaaaaazing! Even my sisters kids meal chicken strips were the bomb! What made our experience overall the best was our waiter. Right from the beginning he went over and beyond our expectations and continued to shine until we walked out the door. He didn’t even chastise us for our complete frenzy over the after dinner Andes Mints!(my family almost tore the guys arm off when he dropped them at the table, oops…) I wish we had stayed a little longer for dessert, but even without it, this was definitely a five star experience!

The little puff pastries that are served with escargots that are cooked In garlic, shallots and olive oil are out of this world. The filet mignon was so tender and St Clemente cab was the perfect pairing. Best ambiance and best service !

Surprisingly this place got more than one star. If anyone has ever been to circus circus, they know that it’s not the best casino in reno. I didn’t really think I would like their steakhouse, but decided to give it a shot anyways. The whole restaurant was really dark. It wasn’t a problem though. The waitress was polite, took our orders, and gave us bread. I like bread a lot, and was pleased to have the balsamic vinegar with it. It did take awhile for our food to get there, but it was good. I had the filet mignon and it was fine; my friend said his steak was fine to. Service was ok, food was decent, and was cheaper than a lot of steakhouses.

Our waiter and the bartender provided the best service! A couple we were with were being really indecisive and the waiter never got annoyed and actually joked with us and answered any menu questions we had. Food was excellent. I ordered the filet mignon. Not a huge steak fan but omg it was so good! Love the ambience as well it made our anniversary dinner seem fancy!

I stayed in Reno for a week and most of my meals were ordinary. It didn’t matter how much we paid. Expensive or inexpensive, most meals were ordinary. We decided to splurge for one meal and this was it. From the moment we stepped in, the service was great. The staff was super friendly. I’m the nut that goes into a steakhouse and doesn’t order steak. I ordered the salmon and it was great. My wife had chicken and it was great. The bread was nice and warm and my water glass was always full. I had no complaints, so that’s why give the perfect score.

The Steakhouse is a decent place to get a decent meal. While it’s not 5-Star quality food, it also isn’t priced in the stratosphere. The décor is nice, our server was friendly and helpful, and overall the experience was good. If you come here with the right expectations, you won’t be disappointed

What an amazing restaurant nestled inside of an otherwise not so spectacular casino. Even though the entire building was permeated with disgusting cigarette smoke, this restaurant managed to be a haven of smoke-free bliss. The manager Monique is incredibly friendly. The wait staff was incredible & all the food was divine! This restaurant is the only reason I would come back to Circus Circus in Reno My friend had the French onion soup which was served inside of the actual onion. It smelled amazing and the presentation was beautiful! I had the special of the night with the steak, parmesan potatoes, and vegetables. I ordered my steak medium well and it came out perfect! Very juicy, tender, well seasoned and very delicious. We both ended our meal with the Crème Brulé sampler which was the best dessert I’ve had in a really long time! A must try dessert for a sweet tooth and gluten-free treat!

We had the 2 for 1 prime rib dinner and also had some lamb chops. Lamp was good prime rib was alright. Service was decent even though we were served last n other customers arriving after us were served b4 us. For this price of $ 37 for prime rib, tasted more like a $ 15 steak. Was good but not amazing wich is what you’d expect when your paying allot.

When you come to a steakhouse and pay $$$ for a steak, it needs to come out the way you want it — without the attitude. 2.5 Stars. We entered and were greeted like VIPs. Off to a good start. We were promptly seated and saw that one of the waiters was a familiar face. He was there 2 – 3 years ago when we first came here!(We had multiple waiters /waitresses tending to us due to our large party size). The familiar face took lead and was most professional. I’m going to keep this review fairly short and point out some highlights. Water was consistently refilled. Wine was also poured for us(we got a few bottles). However at one point, I noticed my cousin was working on a red wine and didn’t finish before taking his daughter outside for a quick stroll. When he returned, we had already started on another bottle… the waiter ended up giving him a little bit more wine but from a different bottle… uhh, no, we don’t mix our red wines at this table. STEAKS. I’m a huge steak snob and I’ve ventured out to michelin star restaurants and other high end restaurants looking for good steak. I usually order my steaks rare, but will go medium rare if its recommended by the chef. With that being said, I got the filet mignon, rare. My cousin got the NY cut, medium rare, and my other cousin got the filet mignon, medium rare. My filet mignon came out medium rare, but I didn’t send it back because medium rare can be pretty good too. This piece came out a bit tough and chewy. My cousin who also go the filet mignon, but medium rare, ended up with a medium-well steak. He was too young to really understand what was happening though, so he ate it. My cousin who got the new york steak also ordered medium rare, but it came out medium well. I called the waiter over to send it back. We explained to him that it’s medium well, but he attempted to tell us that it was medium rare. First, WHAT? Second, WHAT? He did this backhandedly. «This is medium rare, but I can definitely send it back if you want. We can have one recooked, how would you like it? You want it rare? Because this is medium rare.» This kind of comment is definitely not appreciated. We sent it back, and it came out rare plus, which ended up being more delicious than mine. i should have sent mine back and asked for it much more rare. Tip: If you want a true medium, you have to order it rare. Anything rarer, you’ll most likely have to order it and send it back telling them you’ll want it more rare. We had some issues a few years ago with getting orders wrong and bringing out the wrong food, but didn’t really experience that this time around. TL;DR: — Steaks come out over cooked by +1 or +2(for a fine dining restaurant). — The waiter talked back at me as if I don’t know steak. At fine dining, a true rare is cold to the touch in the center, mine was pretty warm. — Service was good except for that one comment, but that one comment tainted the whole experience. I hope we find another steakhouse to go to next year.
