If you like a little coffee with your sugar, this place is perfect for you. I do like that they give you a little candy covered espresso bean placed daintily a top your beverage, but their offerings are more appropriately categorized as a dessert than a morning coffee. This morning, I thought I’d give them another shot, as they’re right on my way to work. I ordered a vanilla latte, and had it in hand less than a minute after ordering. Quick service is great!(But maybe too quick in this case). I have a sneaking suspicion that my latte was brewed coffee with some vanilla creamer — I never saw/heard milk being steamed, and it was SOSCALDINGHOT. Having made a latte or two, I know that milk brought to that temperature would burn and have a particular taste. I can’t comment much on the flavor — by the time it had cooled to a reasonable flavor, my tongue was burnt out of commission for the day. TLDR: sugar, sugar, ouch, ouch

Best coffee drinks I’ve ever had! Much better than Starbucks. They put a delicious coffee bean candy on each drink. The employees are always nice and cheerful.

This place is great its near my house so its the location i go to the most, I like the concept of a strictly drive-thru coffee place, I’m not one to sit around a coffee place, I’m always on the go so this works out perfectly for me. The menu is simple to figure out and they have lots of great choices the bean they give you with your drink is a nice touch and very unique. This place puts Starbucks to shame with their high quality drinks. The staff here is friendly and if you are a regular they will remember your order if you constantly order the same thing which is nice, I’ve seen this place packed before and the baristas knock out the line very quickly even if there is only one working. I am a creature of habit so i tend to order the same drinks all the time, the one i order the most is the Mexi Mocha, the Americano’s here are great and you can tell espresso is quality and it doesn’t have that burnt taste that i’ve experienced at other places Another favorite of mine is the Irish Cream Breve and i’ve been branching out and trying the Java Chip. I highly recommend trying this place out trust me you won’t regret it.

I have always loved Human Bean! This coffee shop has never been a hit or miss their coffee is always so delicious, but today I ordered a Peppermint Mocha my Mocha tasted nothing like coffee, it was more like Hot Chocolate milk with a pump of peppermint, I also ordered it with soy milk, it tasted nothing like soymilk as you know soymilk has it’s own taste. I was very excited to drink my coffee, but I was so disappointed. Human Bean has always been my favorite, I always preferred HB rather than those other Chain Company Coffee places. Human Bean Team, please fix whatever it is your doing wrong I loved going to you cause of your strong coffee taste but lately is been nothing but disappointment.

I’m not a coffee drinker so I can’t comment on the coffee side of things but I’ve tried just about every other drink they have. Absolutely wonderful! Everything always tastes like it was mixed perfectly and made by someone who cares. I go out of my way to enjoy Human Bean and would pick them over Starbucks any day.

I’m writing this review for two reasons. 1: the girl working was very rude and it seemed like I was a bother. I told her my order, a double 8oz cappuccino, she proceeded to walk away even tho I wasn’t done so I had to yell with soy milk and she couldn’t hear me. 2: I’m a coffee snob. I work at coffeebar and am a barista and have been for the past 7 years. There is a proper way to make a cappuccino and the wrong way to make a cappuccino. And the one I got was awful. The milk was poorly steamed and it was not even close to a cappuccino. I’m super disappointed. I don’t frequent the human bean but I was near the neighborhood and it was a cold day. I won’t be going back until they can figure out how to make proper coffee.

Working in the medical field I think half my blood is likely coffee… I am somewhat of a coffee snob you could say. I rarely drink the fancy mochas or lattes, I prefer a good, hot cup of black coffee. Human Bean is the one place where I may order something else. They have the most amazing white mocha I have ever tried, it is sweet but not too sweet. Plus they have almond and coconut milk instead of just the standard soy and regular milk. They give you a chocolate covered espresso bean with your coffee, what more can you ask for? They also have good coffee without all the extras so there is something for every coffee lover… I may have to stop buy tomorrow and see what kind of pumpkin spice yumminess they have in store for their customers!

Human Bean… Let’s start there. Five stars for an epic pun. You all know how much I love puns! This one happens to have a lot of truth to it though because lets face it, none of us are human until we’ve ingested that precious bean in the morning, and that transformation occurs again sometime in the afternoon too! And that’s exactly what brought me to the Human Bean today. I had just spent the afternoon stocking up on swag in my storage unit and needed something cool and caffeinated to carry me through the day. I had received a mailer for this little drive thru coffee stand and, knowing it was on my way home, I stopped in to get my fix. The building was very clean, and I loved the fact the window was merchandised with a cute basket of branded cups and a clean and easy to read menu board. The staff was very friendly and helped me pick out an iced Mexican mocha, and she even put less of the sweet flavoring in to get me a richer coffee experience. I got a 20 oz drink and it was also nice to see that they actually put more coffee in larger drinks vs. just fill the cup up with milk at some others. The drink hit the spot and the experience was fast and efficient. It was actually my first time going thru a drive thru coffee kiosk type shop, and I think I’d gladly do it again in the future.

I enjoy Human Bean because of their yummy flavored drinks. My favorite is a Matte Latte with Snowy. This was actually introduced to me by one of the baristas there and have been in-love ever since. My regular drink before this was a Snowy Mocha and oh man, that too is delicious. I can’t say much about their actual coffee because I am not a coffee drinker… I am a «fru-fru coffee drinker»(that’s what I like to call myself). But I have heard great things about their coffee from a lot of people so it must be good. The ladies/baristas here are very friendly and since I go here pretty frequently, they know my «usual». Another thing I love about Human Bean is how convenient it is. They don’t have the normal coffee shop feel where you sit and chat with friends or be hovered over your computer, instead they are a drive-thru set-up where you order and get your drink at the same window, what a concept. They have 2 great locations south of town, I do wish they would come to the Midtown area but their concept might not quite work in Midtown since people that come to Midtown or are residents are more about socializing rather than convenience.

There are so many things I love about The Human Bean, that I don’t know where to begin! The cute little hut with two windows for quicker drive-up service. The simple menu with reasonable prices. The smiling faces from the various servers I meet, depending on the day. The delicious drinks made with so many options; hot, iced, blended; choices of soy, rice, almond, or regular milk; 8, 12, 16, or 20oz; and all kinds of flavors, many with sugar-free options. And they all come with a chocolate covered espresso bean! They offer a customer loyalty punch card, buy 10 get the 11th free(up to 20oz)! They do specials from triple punch Tuesdays every other Tuesday when you say the secret phrase(they post it on Facebook), double punch Wednesdays, Happy Hours from 5−9pm when all 16oz beverages are just $ 2 each! They offer oatmeal and pastries throughout the day. They participate in causes and within the community, like supporting breast cancer research, the Local Food Bank, and Earth Day! Also, keep an eye out for their gift card specials when you can get bonus bucks with your gc purchase. What’s not to love? Only that they’re not on every corner of town! :P

After being out and about for most of the day I desperately needed caffeine and was driving right past this on my way home. I pulled into the drive thru with my wife and our friend. Only my wife had been before so we were immediately overwhelmed by the amount of options. The woman working was extremely kind and patient. I asked question after question trying to ensure that we all received a drink to our liking. Unfamiliar with their flavor selections I asked for a recommendation. She offered up a selection for our friend(a Carmel Mocha) and she was able to make it with soy and decaf. Mine was a Chai Tea Latte with soy and the wifey went with a Mexi Mocha. The drinks were made promptly and were back on the road. Our friend was the first to try their drink and loved it. My wife tried hers and loved it. I waited a few minutes for mine to cool and then took a sip. Great chai flavor without being too bold. I don’t like when the chai spice is so strong it makes you pucker your mouth. This was well balanced and smooth. I also loved that I spoke directly to a person. No yelling into a speaker box hoping I was communicating clearly and ordering what I wanted and not a mystery drink based on a cracking speaker. The chocolate covered coffee bean was a nice tough — good flavor and not too much chocolate. I will definately remember to stop by here during cold or hot days. I can’t wait to try one of their iced coffees!

Similar to my beloved Dutch Bros, a drive through caffeine vendor. The girls working are similarly attractive though not as über friendly. Their specialty hazelnut coffee is quite good. They also give out a chocolate covered coffee bean with the order. The whole poor coffee convenience thing is being turned on it’s head as now you can get better coffee from a kiosk than some café’s now

I LOVE the Human Bean. The ladies that work here are always so friendly, and greet you with the biggest smiles and«good morning!» They’re super quick, and the coffee always tastes amazing. I’m always a little nervous when I pull up and see a long line. But these ladies are quick, and always make the coffee just right!

I’ve mentioned in prior reviews of coffee places that I like my coffee black. Really, really black. I’m not saying this to sound pompous or super manly, in fact I think a real man drinks whatever the hell he wants to drink. For me personally, I just want a big cup of rocket-fuel laden, black coffee. I’m talking Gulf Coast oil spill black. So black you expect to see little oil covered Pelicans hovering around your cup and a BP rep telling you it’s safe to swim, black. Too soon? Anyway, I like it black. I think black coffee can tell you a lot about a coffee place. Cream and sugar tend to hide imperfections in the roast, which can sometimes be a good thing. You know what I’m talking about. The brew I had at The Human Bean this morning didn’t need to hide a thing, it was darn near perfect. I enjoyed every sip, from the scalding first sip to the cold murky last sip(it was a big cup). I love that this is a drive up coffee place too. Bare bones can be a good thing considering much of what we get these days is flash over substance. Well the Bean, I call it the bean now, the bean is all substance. I feel like that is a huge compliment because at the very core of any coffee business there needs to be a great product. A fancy interior with gleaming counters doesn’t matter if your coffee is bad. Whoa! I went way off the rails with this review. Short version: Great coffee, good location, very polite barista. I dig this place.

I wish that they had a café inside where you could sit and enjoy your coffee. But, it is only a drive thru, which can be nice on your way to work. They give you a little chocolate-covered espresso bean with your beverage. That was a delicious edition to my coffee. I ended up ordering an iced coffee since it was a nice day outside. The coffee was a little bit on the weaker side, but was smooth. I added pumpkin sauce to my coffee to give it some flavor. My friend ordered a chai and really enjoyed it. If I am in the South Reno area and wanted a caffeine pick me up while running errands, I would come back :)
