Wow! The Scroo has made some really positive changes with the change in ownership. I’ve noticed that they’ve upped their social media game always posting their daily deals and trying to get more people in. It’s working! We stopped here after a candlelight vigil for a friend to have a cold beer in his honor. The bartender was cool and laid back. It was clear he was closing up, but when we came in he told us to sit on down and asked what we wanted. My boyfriend and roommate both ordered beers and I was going to too, until he suggested I try an old fashion daiquiri, I was intrigued so it was ordered! It was super good, and the bartender clearly knew he was good at making drinks, he mentioned multiple times that he is a great bartender and that his margaritas and old fashions are the best. Afterwards he suggested I try a Tom Collins. I’ve never had that either but why not! It was also really, really good. I believe this guy that he makes great drinks, and I’m definitely coming back to try one of those margaritas! The only things that made it not a 5 star experience is that the drinks were not full when they were poured so I felt a little jipped paying 6 bucks.

Delicious cheesy bread and I love the karaōke on Wednesday nights! Nice customer service. The bartender, Forest, invited me to try his special drink, an ‘Old Fashioned’, giving me a little tutorial on how to make it better and how to savor it. It was very yummy! Good place and fun!

I’m not a «bar» person, but I’ve finally found a bar and grill I like. The people are friendly, the place is clean & well lit and it’s not noisy. They have a wide range of beers and great happy hour specials. And lots of TVs if you want to watch a ball game. I’m looking forward to taking friends and trying the pizza that smelled so good. —– Apparently this bar had a bad rep years ago. Forget that. It’s under new ownership /management and they’re doing a great job. Check ‘em out!

It used to be a good college bar but for the past year and a half its gotten pretty scummy. I’ve been kicked out of the bar at 10:30 pm so the bartender could go home to see her dog, been harassed by homeless people inside, and a friend got his bike stolen while inside. On another instance my friend was punched in the face by the bouncer because he didn’t have his ID, which was at the bar. Even currently there is a dog running around inside even though they serve food and beverages. Why do I still come here you ask? To be honest, the drinks are okay and it’s a close walk from campus. Basically it’s the next best option compared to the Wolfden and people will drag you there for their«birthday shot». Someone bar rescue this place, please.

I haven’t been here since it was the breakaway but stopped in as part of a friends birthday bar crawl Sunday afternoon. There was 2 people at the bar and we came in with a crew of about 10 in the middle of the afternoon for cocktails only. The young guy with a beanie on behind the bar looked and acted like he had been on a bender the entire weekend. I asked for a vodka soda and he poured me a vodka tonic. I told him and he made me another one, with tonic again. Third time was a charm as I got my vodka soda. I asked on two occasions if I could pay and he told me to give him a few. As 10 people waited at the bar he went in to the restaurant part and was hanging out with a girl and holding a baby. Really dude? Were the only business you have(and all generously tipping people in the service industry I might add) and you’re too fucked up to help us. We had one drink and left, it was too painful getting service out of this kid.

I’m editing this review for sake of the new owners(and adding a star for their media-consciousness!). Please go and give them a chance. I know I will next time I’m in Reno(I moved out of state since graduating in May’15). They seem very excited to be owning the corkscroo and hopefully will be restaffing with some customer friendly and aware folks. If you do manage to go there, go in with a new mind to the place and be happy to be there. Brush your teeth, eat your veggies, and don’t be a dick to your bartenders!

Great prices and specials! Me and my friends think this is the place to go. Happy Hour runs 4 – 7; $ 1 draft beers can’t be beat. When I go into a bar, usually the 1st thing I look for are TVs. The Corkscroo has great variety. Behind the bar are three big, wall-mounted TVs that can swivel your direction. There is a TV above the pool table, and a humongous projector accompanied by low tables. Whenever there is a game or event that you’d like to see, ask the bartender and they’ll switch it over for you. Speaking of bartenders, they are all friendly and have speedy service. Cameron and Madeline are my go-to’s, and I hadn’t befriended them until I started going there. It seems as though the majority of the bartenders know most of the people that come into the Scroo. I’d recommend the Corkscroo over the Wolf Den, Little Waldorf, or Archies any day. If you’re hungry, the Scroo is also connected to the Blind Onion that serves killer pizza.

Another dive bar, located on the north end of the gaming corridor, just outside UNR territory. I think there’s karaōke and other events going on at times, and haven’t tried out any of the food yet, but it’s a classic little place. Open 24 hours too!

Check out open mic on Monday nights featuring a new artist showing their work each Monday! This place is a hit and miss when it comes to the food, all depends on the cook. The staff are all friendly and mostly attentive. I go here every Sunday and Monday. Always a good time!
