Mmmmmm TACOS !! Authentic Mexican food is not popular in Saudi Arabia, where I grow up, so my idea of Mexican food is the Tex-Mex Taco Bell style. Taco is any kind of meat mixed with a packet of taco seasoning, chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, all shoved in a tortilla and topped with shredded cheddar cheese, salsa and sour cream. Guess what, THESEARENOTTACOS. Real tacos by Mexican standards!!! Mexican restaurant locally owned and operated by a happy friendly Mexican American family, not a chain restaurant(the word taquería is always a good sign). Those soft traditional tacos, full of the flavors of Mexico, very simple corn tortillas, hot, moist, GENEROUS portion of meat topped with CILANTRO and finely diced WHITEONION plus slices of fresh LIMES as condiments. Make your choice between the Lengua(beef tongue), Al pastor(spicy pork), Asada(Steak), Cabeza(beef head), Carnitas(pork), Pollo(chicken), Al Pastor(spicy pork), Chicharron(pork skin), Carne Desebrada(shredded beef), Bistec Ranchero(steak ranchero), Chile Verde(pork in green chile) and Chorizo at around $ 1.50 each. MEXICANTACOSARENOTSPICY. You make them as spicy as you want, so choose between their house specialties salsa the mild(green) or to burn-your-mouth(red). Now lemme get this straight, they are so good. Like really good. I tried different kinds of tacos: Chorizo, Asada, Pollo, Carne Desebrada in addition to the lingua(my favorite). So get out there, try some authentic ‘street’ taco flavor and turn your day into a fiesta !!!

3 stars because of inconsistency. One day the food is really good… the next it isnt. And, we always order the same thing… Chile relleno, and carne asada tacos. We came on a weekday evening an hour before closing, and our carne asada was disgusting. It tasted like it was old meat refried because they weren’t expecting customers an hour before closing. Another day I ordered the super Nachos which was a disappointment: nacho cheese, sour cream, guac, and carne asada on chips. I’ve had my fair share of super Nachos and super fries in different cities, and by far this was the worst. If I want nacho cheese, I’d go to taco bell or 7 – 11. Finally, our cashier made a mistake on our ticket, twice. The first time she short changed us $ 5. The second time our order was $ 28 on the machine, but the receipt prints out a different amount. So make sure you always check! I don’t want to go back, but it is so close to my house.

this is my go to place when I want real tacos for lunch. the staff is very friendly and will gladly explain anything on the menu. the tacos have enough meat in them to make two tacos(and you can since they come with two tortillas). the salsa is awesome in a mild(green) and spicy(red). chicken flautas are amazing, the meat has a really good flavor.

The tacos are real tasty, so for that they get two stars. But what kind of self-respecting Mexican uses that 7⁄11 yellow«cheese sauce» on the goddamn nachos??? No comprende! Isn’t that illegal or something? I bet they wouldn’t serve me that crap if I was in the Los Zetas cartel.

I give this place 4 stars because I like the price and my food was good, and fresh. I tried the pork, al pastor(spicy pork) and chorizo(pork sausage). I wasn’t a huge fan of the spicy pork or chorizo; the meats were good but I just didn’t like them with the other ingredients on the taco. I’m not sure how to describe it, but just the flavor/seasoning on them didn’t jive well for me. I got some chips and guac as well. The guac was really fresh and definitely spicy! The regular pork taco was awesome and I’ll order a few of those next time. It’s cheap and fast and open early, which is always a plus in my book. Not everything was ready to be served when I got there right at open(08:30) but I was willing to wait and my food arrived quickly and was very fresh. I definitely like the price of the tacos. I’ve had some better in Reno so far but I’d go here over other places because it’s cheaper. The tacos came on 2 corn tortillas, pretty standard, and had onion and cilantro with wedges of lime. I added some salsa verde and they were perfect. There are other toppings you can definitely add like cheese, sour cream, pico, etc, but I just took them how they came. All of the employees were very friendly and the place was neat and clean. Several people came in to grab takeout orders while I was there eating. I took one of the tacos home along with the rest of the chips and guac because I was pretty full after the first two tacos and some chips. This place is near me in South Reno so I’m pretty pumped and will probably be back to explore the menu further.

I wish the quality here wasn’t so inconsistent. It’s the closest taqueria to us so we go cause it’s convenient, then I have meh food and remind myself convenience should not outweigh good food.

This is becoming my go-to place if I’m craving Mexican food. It’s located near my work, so it’s very convenient for a quick, cheap, but very delicious lunch. It’s pretty simple as far as décor goes. I don’t mind that. What’s more important is that the place is clean and there’s enough seating for everyone, especially during the lunch hour rush. As for the food, my hands-down favorite is the tostada ceviche. It tastes fresh and with just enough spice and flavor. it’s reasonably priced at $ 3.50 each. For tacos, I have 2 favorites ~ the lengua(beef tongue) and the al pastor(spicy pork), at $ 1.50 each. These are Mexican-style tacos ~ smaller portion, with not a whole lot of add-ins, except for diced onion and cilantro. Delicious and packed with flavor. Of course, they have more items on the menu, and I’m looking forward to trying them all. Go check them out for yourself!

This was my first time going to Super Taqueria and I thought it was delicious. I ordered two ceviche tostadas along with an horchata. The service was good, prices were just right and what I ordered was very yummy. I definitely plan on coming back in the near future.

I love this place. Carnita tacos are excellent, as well as the shredded beef burrito. My personal fave is a bean and cheese burrito with sour cream. Their tortillas are authentic and delicious. Price is very cheap and the portions are big. Every time I’ve been there, the employees are kind and helpful :) The location is great if you live south town. On my way to grab burritos for dinner tonight! Oh, and they do take out too.

Very disappointed that the owner and her son would act so unprofessional, disrespectful and just plain rude … They got our order wrong and when we addressed the issue they were upset at us for making a complaint, I also mentioned that the chicken was dry ! And Their response to our complaints was … «so what do you want me to do about it? «Hmmm idk I’m no genius but I would assume that their overall goal would be customer satisfaction! I Moved here from Los Angeles in July and I’ve been on a mission trying to find a good Mexican restaurant in Reno NV… Their food is far from being authentic Mexican food ! The owner gave us dirty looks rolling her eyes at us as if she wanted to get fight us. Sad that people have no integrity in what they do anymore, especially a small business owner … Very disappointed that they would treat people in this manner … Poor customer service can have a ripple effect that harms your business in many ways. I will never eat here again … I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone …

My expectations where I bit higher, but This was still better than over half of the places Mexican places in Reno. Kind of disappointed in their Al Pastor, but I moved here from San Antonio so again my expectations can be higher than normal. Fantastic service and everything appeared fresh. The carne asada was a bit plain. Their guacamole was excellent!

This place is AOK!!! Certified Mexican here reviewing a Mexican restaurant. It’s almost impossible to get a good, affordable taco here in south Reno. If you know anything about tacos: they’re supposed to be good and CHEAP. $ 2.00 for a taco is crazy… Anyway Super Taqueria has both. These tacos are traditional in size and taste; however the tortilla is not warmed up with manteca(grease), they are instead steamed. No biggy, I can live with that. I think they did it to appeal to the white folk? Anyway I had cabeza tacos, they were good(not spectacular like Yesenia’s taco truck off of grove but they’re open at the late hours of the night). So if your looking for a good taco during the day, this is the spot to hit up! One thing I find annoying. It’s a family owned restaurant and I guess some teenagers work there that might be related to the cooks(I think the owners). Here’s the annoying part: If they’re not taking orders they’re sitting around. The lobby was in desperate need of a sweep. Looks like they just wipe the tables and call it a day. Also, it wasn’t even busy! So that and taste cost them 2 stars. Good tacos kind of clean restaurant.

Time for an update! It has officially become dangerous having this place a stones throw from my home office. See, after a few evening excursions to grab dinner here I realized just how good their tacos are and now I kinda want them all the time! I mean, they’re so simple, just meat of your choice, onion and cilantro on two steamed corn tortillas, yet somehow they are simply magical! Today, as I drove home from Downtown, I passed a favorite Mexican market while thinking of lunch, but it happened to be 10:30am, a little to early. I thought about stopping but knew neither tacos or Tortas would hold up until lunch, so all it did was cause me to daydream about tacos all the way home. I sat at my desk and did some work, but all I could think of was tacos! As soon as the clock struck 12 I was off, and made a b line for Super Taqueria. I ordered two Al pastor, one lengua and one carnitas, and an order of chips and raced home. I turned the four tacos into 8 and slowly savored each, being careful to space the different varieties so as not to repeat! Dang! What a perfect lunch! And now that I’ve done it once, and it’s so close to my office, I worry I’ll do it again… And again… And again! Can you say addiction? I guess I could think of worse things to be addicted to than tacos! Right?

For a south reno neighborhood taco joint, this place is pretty awesome! I live around the corner and every time I visit, I think to myself, «Why do I not eat here more often?» The food is on par with any taco truck or shack you might come across on wells avenue. The meat is always flavorful, my favorite being the al pastor, and the portions are plentiful! Since each taco is served with 2 corn tortillas, I end up turning 1 taco into 2, pour on some green salsa. perfection! Their guacamole is also some of the best I’ve had — lots of flavor, all avocado, no fillers, and big serving for the price! Good chips, fat tacos, and delicious guac. Yes, please!

It’s hard to find an authentic taqueria in the south of Reno… but finally, there is one. Super Taqueria is located in one of the industrial shopping centers on Double R, closer to Longley Lane. While its hidden away, it seems like my fellow south Renoites have found it as it’s always fairly busy. They have REAL tacos: small tortillas, your choice of meat(carne asada, carnitas, al pastor), cilantro and onions. Squeeze a little lime, a pinch of salt and some hot sauce and you have a delicious taco. Their burritos are delicious and their«super» burritos live up to their name in size. Filled with all the goods: rice, beans, your choice of meat, sour cream and guacamole(and they don’t skimp) they are sure to satisfy your hunger. They have an open kitchen and you can see all the ingredients as they’re prepared and as they are loaded onto your plate. They even have a few breakfast items on their menu, so I may have to try those out one of these days. The place is very clean with almost minimal decorations with a giant TV that’s usually tuned to a soccer match. Good food, good soccer, what more could I want?

This is my first time here. My husband and i have been wanting to try it for some time now but we always end up at super b. I got a shredded beef taco, great flavor and came out piping hot(burned my lips), and I also got a spicy pork burrito, while flavorful I found it to be a little dry and some crunchy stuff I didn’t care too much for. My husband said his steak super burrito was really good. Definitely coming back. I gotta try the other kinds of meats and the albondigas soup. Till next time!

«That was good» was on my lips as we drove out of the parking lot in front of Super Taqueria. It wasn’t great, it wasn’t a disappointment, it was just good. I tried a number of tacos. Chorizo, steak, al pastor, chicken, shredded beef, pork carnitas. The steak one was ordered«Super Taco» style. With added sour cream and guacamole and larger size. For me, it just wasn’t worth it at $ 2.57 each. Don’t get me wrong, if you like those things on your tacos then it’s not that bad of a deal. Just wasn’t worth it for me. The better product is the $ 1.29 tacos. Nice soft corn tortillas and a nice serving of meat, onions and cilantro. I LOVED the Chorizo tacos. I liked the shredded beef and then the rest were just ok. If I returned these would be the ones I would get. And then try something else from the menu. The service was not speedy quick, but was fast enough. This is the type of place Michael T. is talking about when he wants us to try out the local places instead of Chipotle. And I have to honestly say this place is very similar with their meat and in the prices. Not sure if they have the same level of quality in their ingredients. But they do seem to share the drier meat that Chipotle has. They had two squeeze bottles of presumably house made salsas. One green and one red both were fine and weren’t too hot. In fact the Chorizo was hotter on it’s own. I didn’t seek out hotter ones because these two did me just fine. The inside is nice and modern with clean and still new furnishings. They had a big TV showing a rerun of the latest version of the Family Feud. I don’t know how they get anything done with that TV running. I would get distracted sooo easily by it. But it was a nice diversion while we sat waiting for our food. My wife got some good stuff too. But you will have to read her review. I also picked up a side of beans for Kiwi. She liked them enough to finish them. Lots of drink choices here if that is what you like and the parking is plentiful with little chance of it being a problem.

April 19, 2014 Saturday — lunch 12:15PM 3 adults Atmosphere — 4 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 4 stars Background — Been to their old location many times and love their food. Atmosphere — After being closed for a while they moved into a former wine bar. Still has most of the feel, the only change which is really visible it the kitchen being added. An old bar still remains along the wall and you can even sit there if you want. I love the open kitchen concept. The menu board from the old location made it over too. It is a lengthy menu but simple to follow. We found a spot to sit at and it was under the TV, we had to move as the volume was too high. Food Drinks — I also get a Mexican coke here, they have the larger bottles Medio Litro(Half Liter). I split that with my wife. Appetizer — none. My Main Course — I ordered my first beef tongue burrito at their old location and feel in love with that super tender beef. They provided my very first experience with beef tongue. Ever since I was hooked and have tried it cooked several different ways. But I still come back for that beef tongue burrito. Over by the soda machine they have two sauces you can bring to the table; I use some their green sauce to add to my burrito. Dessert — none. Service — After ordering at the register they provide you with the order number turn off of the bottom of the ticket that goes to the kitchen and circle the last two digits. At this point you can sit and they will bring out your food. Typically they go in order, pay attention as you get close to your number some of the people calling out the numbers I had a hard time understanding. I actually guessed when they call mine, when she got to the table I confirmed it was 94 with her, I was right. The one thing I do not get is that some people in your group get plates while the others get the cheap plastic paper lined baskets. I know why my wife got the plate because it was combo plate, but if you are serving plates give everyone a plate. It simply adds a little bit more to the place. Future — This is some best tongue I have ever had, as taquerias go this is my favorite.
