I am not a big Starbucks fan, but when a friend suggested a meeting at Starbucks, I agreed. The location is perfect for all the business people in the area. It is located on the corner of lakeside and McCarran in a business park. The store is fairly good size with a couple tables to sit at outside if you wish. There is almost two separate sections to this store, the front where you order and a back room where there are several tables and chairs. Business meetings and computers were going on all over. I will have to say there free Wi-Fi is really good. The coffee is OK, it did not taste burnt, I asked for my latte at 140 degrees, and it was served to me correctly. If you are looking for a place to do business or have a meeting, this place will fit the bill.

First by letting me say I am a Starbucks addict! I eat drink or work at some Starbucks location almost every single day. This time I didn’t go in but just grab myself some coffee in the drive-through. This Starbucks drive-through is not necessarily ideal. You have to basically go through the line of fire from the drive-through line to get to the front door if you decided you wanted to go inside instead of using the drive-through. This location is also connected to body pages, which…, If you have some dry cleaning and want to grab a coffee is absolutely ideal! However the layout for the drive-through and parking for the guests that are going into the location is a bit dangerous and a bit muddled up. You have people there parking across the street that are trying to get into the entrance you have people from the drive-through trying to get out of the drive-through and into the drive through and all of them have to cross in the same general area. Unfortunately this is the only drive-through Starbucks within quite some ways… And if it’s snowing or raining and you’re in a hurry this is going to be your best bet. The people here are always absolutely amazing, like all Starbucks! So I give them three stars for the drive-through but five stars for the staff.

Hey Starbucks — when it’s slow — customer service is even more important. The woman on drive thru duty(identified by the headset) waited on me when I walked in. The silence between us was awkward for me because I never know if they are listening to someone outside. I waited for her que. I ordered my cocoa. She made it personally. Two of her coworkers were busy behind the counter. No one said thank you. I loved the way my order was announced — just like when they are busy. I’m a grande hot chocolate. There were no other customers anywhere — inside or outside. Went home across the street. One full inch of room I noted upon arrival — within 3 minutes. Thought it would have whip? Called to ask if it comes standard? Yes indeed the reply. Well, not in mine. Woman with attitude at this store. And no team to help her out. Baby it’s cold inside. I am more sure than ever I must cut the cord to you Starbucks. Good-bye.

Time to update past review. The service had definitely improved! Being on the way home every day, I pass by and have been swinging in for a quick drink. Much quicker than the past 3 months! The afternoon barista’s are getting better. The large selection of holiday beverages keep me wanting to go back and try new things. Make sure you ask for it to be extra hot if you want to feel some warmth going down your throat. The new gingerbread latte has just the right amount of ginger and cinnamon. They have no problems giving your pup a cup of whipped cream«pupachino». Just ask when you get to the drive up.

You know as far as Starbucks locations go, this is one of the best I’ve been to. I like the layout where there is a rear area to sit and relax without getting bothered by the noise and activity of the front end coffee making and cashier. It nowhere near as crowded and noisy as the location over by TJ Maxx on Kietzke. My orders are usually easy, just house coffee and room for cream. What is nice here is the WiFi works really fast! Holy crap, over 30 Mbs! That’s as fast as my cable internet at home! I see students doing group study here … I guess Starbucks has turned into a study hall with free internet. A sign of the times I guess. I’m glad Starbucks provides WiFi to its customers, no password, no time limit. The restrooms here are usually always clean and you don’t have to share them with anyone! The toilet paper here at this location is the normal rolls on a holder, like a home, so no struggling with those stupid huge commercial roll dispensers that are a pain in the you know what just to gather the paper with the roll mounted sideways and all heavy. Good hook on the door to hang your purse or whatever, so it doesn’t touch the icky restroom floor. This is my fave Starbucks in all Reno when I’m in town. Lots of easy parking and a drive through if you need that.

I love that this place is close to work and they have a drive through. The service has been nice, to me. Sometimes it can be busy, but what do you expect on McCarran?

I’ve been coming to this Starbucks for about a month now, simply because I moved in down the street. My old favorite was the busiest in the district(and I’ve had an on-again off-again relationship as an employee in my past — NOT currently an employee and likely never will be again. My past experience was at a nightmare of a store… eek), so I must admit: I have high expectations when it comes to my ‘Bucks. Regardless of whether I choose the drive through or going into the café itself, I have always experienced smiles, cheery dispositions, and yummy beverages. The very first time I went through the drive through, I didn’t have cash on me, and my phone wouldn’t connect to the darn cell phone network. I couldn’t connect to my Starbucks application, and thusly could not pay for my drink. He simply have me my drink and sent me on my way, and when I tried to pay the next time, he refused. I realize some might think this is common practice, but I’ve also had the experience where you just leave the drive through empty handed. Lastly, they have a good sense of humor. Sure, I’ve had a messed up drink once or twice, but it’s their ability to handle it with grace and still be fun/funny during the recovery of a mess up that makes them stand out.

Wow. I see why I’m not a huge Starbucks fan Our office closed today due to a random electrical fluke. So one of the other girls and I went out for some coffee before heading home. This location has a nice small patio with umbrellas for shade. It seemed quite clean inside and the have done some remodeling since I was in last. More shelves for more products. But the gal taking the orders this morning lacked personality and any social skills– I never got a good morning or what can I get you? She just stared at me until I ordered. Awkward. She did then ask for my name to write on the cup and that was it. We picked up the drinks at the end of the counter and don’t remember hearing a thank you then either. I realize this could be quite the busy location but really, a smile, hi and thanks isn’t too much to expect is it ? They are consistent on the taste of their drinks, I will give them that.

This location is always fast and efficient. Everyone’s really nice and they rarely ever run out of ingredients. I come here almost every morning before work and love seeing familiar faces. They know my order now and take good care of me every time!

The drinks are prepared well but the atmosphere is dismal. I live nearby so I tried this location about 4 times so far. I would like to stop by after working 8 hours retail on Fri, Sat and Sun but it is an unfriendly place. I arrived at 7:15 pm but the floors were being mopped so I had to pray that I would not fall as the distance from the sitting area to the front is far. No greeting; just there to take my order. I had to clamber back over the wet floor to retrieve my drink and I do have arthritis… no thank you nor a good evening. Why? The Starbucks on S Virginia is really friendly but a bit funky at times. This location is about as cool as a bank.

Great service! It was fast and has a drive though. We ordered multiple drinks and food items and it was all correct! Way better than waiting in lines out the door at other locations as it is off the beaten path.

Always clean, very friendly service and conveniently located. Every time I stopped in, the staff is fast and helpful. They also love pets in the drive through.

Every time I go in here, generally when I have errands in the area, I have consistently been treated rude by the barista. Also they have a bad tenancy to mess up my drink. Most recently I went in and asked for a passion tea lem… because thats all the girl let me get out before snapping that they were out of lemonade. I ordered a passion tea with raspberry sweetener instead. I watched one barista make it and she completely skipped the sweetener. When I asked if she could put some in she rolled her eyes, grabbed my cup and put a few pumps in then set on the counter rather hard without saying a word. I’ll have to start making the drive to keystone to avoid the attitude and death stares.

I visited this location on several occasions this last week and was thoroughly disappointed on every visit. From employees too busy joking with each other to help customers, to waiting for my drink because they made the drinks and food for their regulars first to having an employee offer to help, then walked away from the counter to go do something else, which resulted in my having to bet back into line and wait again. My Vanilla Latte is what you would expect from a Starbucks, consistent and good, but the customer service will keep me from coming back.

This Starbucks is conveniently located nearby and has a drive thru yet every time I go there the line is always way too long inside and out and the baristas constantly mess up my drink, and it’s not even that complicated. I’m always disappointed and shocked they don’t recognize me or my order for how often I go there.

When I walked into this Starbucks I could smell something rotten I thought maybe it was just a smell of the area and decided to order anyways. I was treated rudely and given attitude. I let it pass and just took my drink and left. When I tasted it something was just wrong. After a couple drinks I decided it wasn’t worth drinking and had my brother taste it. We both came to the same conclusion that the milk used was rotten and rancid. I get a drink from Starbucks at least once a week and this experience makes me never want to get another drink from this company again. Bottom line don’t ever go to this specific Starbucks.

This is one of my favorite Starbucks in Reno. I like Starbucks because of the consistency. I work from home and head out for coffee at least once a day so I can have a break for about an hour. If I am going for a great coffee experience, this won’t be the place. If I am going somewhere in order to check email, have a clean place to work, know that the internet connection is up and working, I’ll come here. Starbucks is amazingly average but is always average. Sometimes, that’s a good thing.

As I write this review I’m starting to get concerned about the amount of these stores I patronize locally. Maybe I should cut back a little(and perhaps the caffeine is why I am writing this at 11:45PM?). FIrst off, these guys are quicker than many of the other SBUXs in town. I love it. Secondly, they have a drive through which is a big plus. It’s great if you work in that center because you can pop off to your office. However, if you are trying to get back on S. McCarran you need to make a tight u-turn to pull it off(or drive up to Lakeside). One thing I’d like to mention. There are several businesses over here and people conduct a lot of business at this SBUX. It’s not a place i would go to talk about confidential matters but you’ll hear it all the time. The seating area in the back is somewhat ‘detached’ from the front of the store so any conversations you have back there are louder. Just a note.

Starbucks does a few things right. Where this location is concerned: The company identified the best location available on a busy thoroughfare(S. McCarran), then made a very well designed drive-thru that is pleasantly landscaped. In addition to all this, Starbucks has a pretty and pleasant outdoor seating area that you can see when approaching the drive-thru. From your car, it’s the equivalent of looking at a nice painting of a picturesque Seaside landscape. You aren’t exactly going there, but you can imagine yourself being there, and it takes you to a happy place in your head. Bearing these things in mind, more often than I care to admit, this Starbucks beckons and I respond by driving through and giving them my $ 3-$ 4. That’s what I call good marketing. My nonfat Chai Tea latte was perfection. It was cinnamony, with a generous dollop of clove, nutmeg and the other pumpkin pie spices that make it such a good treat. I love that the barista adds the splendas for me so that I don’t end up wearing it on myself. I also appreciate the relative speed with which this drive-thru moves customers along. Another plus for this Starbucks, they actually fill your drink right to the top of the cup(no cheating you out of that last ½ inch you paid through the nose for). Therefore, if you yank your drink towards yourself(as I did), you’ll be wearing a nice splash of whatever jumps out at you through the little drinking-hole in the lid.
