Salon Bobby Pin

I bought a Groupon for this place and thankfully I wasn’t able to use it so I can get my money back and go somewhere else. I’ve called this salon five times with no answer each time. I called and left a message over the weekend because I thought even if someone wasn’t in then at least they would get my message and call me back Monday morning. No call, so again I called back and left a message when nobody answered during their actual office hours. Still no call after that message either so giving them the benefit of the doubt I called back a few more times before I just got sick of it. Their answering machine says they value their customers but I think it is poor business if you can’t even answer the phone, maybe get a receptionist then? I’ll be taking my money elsewhere.

Melina is awesome! I had had experiences where I had given stylists pictures of that I wanted before and had terrible results. Melina totally delivered and improved on what I wanted. I have had tons of compliments and will be a regular here :)

Meggan gave me the worst haircut of my entire life. I showed her a pic of what I wanted. I explained what I wanted and what I got isn’t even close. What’s even worse is that she chopped about 5 inches off when I requested about an inch shorter so I can’t go elsewhere to get it fixed. My hair is at ear level, without any styling, with a mysterious chopped piece on one side. It looks like a toddler attacked me with a scissors!

Ok. So just like most people, both my daughter (the 16 year old) and I have had HORRIBLE experiences with trying to get our hair cut. I have curly hair and as anybody that has curly hair in this climate, it’s a bitch to maintain. My daughter (being 16) likes to FRY her hair in the attempt to look amazing for school each and every morning. By an amazing stroke of luck (and a great tip in a bar) we found Melina! What an angel!!! We will never go to anyone else again. Unfortunately I had let my hair go too long and was afraid I would have to cut off a bit more length than I would have liked. The amazing thing is that Melina only took off the damaged hair so there was almost no hair on the floor but the rest of my curls were so happy– they boinged up in joy. She did the same great job for my daughter. She was so happy that she let Meline cut a bang where no one else has gone and the girl not only didn’t freak but was so happy with the outcome of the cut she promptly announced she would never go to another stylist EVER!!! She mention some products septic to our needs to try and said that she was going to attend a class for curly hair so she could learn more about in depth issues. This girl is amazing!!!

This review is specifically for Milena at Salon Bobby Pin. I found this salon on accident while browsing Groupon;s online. The salon is close to where I live so I figured for the price I was quoted I might as well give it a try. I have had a difficult time to say the least finding a good stylist here in Reno but my hair was in need of a makeover and so I took a chance on Milena. I am sooooo happy I did! Milena is amazing! She fixed my haircut and made my color the most beautiful color I have EVER had. Blonde is hard and she nailed it! I have been getting compliments everywhere I go and wish I had more of her business cards because I literally got more than 10 compliments yesterday. In addition to being talented her prices are very reasonable. A child’s haircut under age 11 is their age so my 7 year old’s haircut is only $ 7. I am so happy to have found Milena. I am now a loyal customer and referring everyone I know. Give her a try. You will love her too!

So the question is when your hair stylists moves, what is one to do to find a new one…
GROUPON it, yep that is how I found Meggan.
My experience started off very BUMPPY and almost wrote GROUPON to get my money back even before meeting Meggan. I called here for two weeks leaving messages and got nothing back… Then when she did get back to me she apologized and told me she had a cold and a death in the family and was at Burning man.
Ok, ALL EVERY GOOD reasons. :)
I bought the cut and all over color for 45.00, which is a rocking good deal. I explained what/​how I wanted my hair and even brought pics to help… She knew exactly what I was asking for and did a awesome job.
She is VERY VERY busy and is always booked a month out, but well worth the wait. I jumped back on GROUPON and grabbed another one for a cut/​condoning from her for only 25.00. Winter is coming and deep condoning is always needed for this area.

I went to Bobby Pin because of a Groupon. I’ve been to at least 3 other salons with Groupons, but this one is a keeper. It’s a small place, but very friendly and arty. It’s midtown, but has parking right outside the door. Meggan not only listened to what I had to say, but made suggestions. I have thick, curly hair, but didn’t want a wedge cut. She suggested something asymmetrical, which is what I wanted and no other stylist had been able or willing to do. She knew exactly what to do with my curly mop! I’m SOOOO happy with my cut, even 2 days later, I don’t think I’ll let anyone else cut my hair, EVER! P. S. don’t go by my profile pic as of ⁷⁄₁₇. That’s a before picture!

I have gotten my hair done here multiple times. I’ve been on a peacock themed (purple, blue, and teal highlights) phase for a couple of months now and Meggan does an extraordinary job every time! She won’t schedule me unless she knows she has more than enough time to dedicate to my hair. She’s very patient with my indecisiveness and is always excited to play with colors. She always engages me in conversations she has with her coworkers or other customers who are there at the time. The girls who work there are all very friendly and the salon is clean everytime I’ve gone in there.
She used color products from Tressa and that stuff is very long lasting if you follow her tips and instructions. I am always exciting to come to her salon to have my hair worked out. Never has Meggan disappointed me and I will definitely be making my return once I discover my next obsession.

Had an aromatherapy facial with Deedra; she’s amazing. Had compliments on how nice my skin looked days after I had my facial. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. Bought two more facials as gifts!

I recently had an aromatherapy facial with Deedra Cornelius at Salon Bobby Pin. She was very nice and the location was inviting. I felt so refreshed and relaxed afterwards and my skin looked and felt great.
