This is the second time in the past 2 weeks, we’ve entered the doors at 6:30(posted open til’ 7), and the staff has put away everything. They state that the owners said they could close early because business was slow. I seriously doubt the owner has authorized this closure and if they did, they won’t be in business much longer. Subway is a block away. They keep their posted hours… what a novel idea. Apparently, the staff runs Port of Subs and they’ll run it into the ground. Don’t waste your gas/$ on these inconsiderate people.

Port of subs used to be awesome. No longer. It sucks. The subs are smaller and the price is higher. They barely put any meat and cheese on their sandwiches. You’ll get plenty of lettuce though. The ingredients are quality, the execution is very poor. It bums me out to think how awesome this place used to be. I think the only people who eat there don’t know any better or they think subway is their only option. I advise walking across the dining room and trying a ban mi. You won’t want the overpriced mediocre disappointment you get at port of subs again.

Watch the gloves, they will touch the wet rag, touch the counters, and then touch your sandwich with the same gloves

We just moved here from out east. We have never been to this restaurant before and don’t know their menu. We went to the location on South Meadows, but I couldn’t find that store on Unilocal,so I’m leaving this review here. The lady behind the counter rushed us to order, but had ZERO patience for people who are just learning what to ask for. My dad told her he wanted a «12 inch sub» and she rolled her eyes at him and said«You mean a LARGE??» Then she asked him what kind of bread and she sighed loudly. Look, if you want us to read the menu, then give us time to read the menu. We had NEVERBEENHEREBEFORE. She treated all of us the same way, as if we were inconveniencing her, or she thought we were stupid. Not a great way to treat customers. I told my parents we should just leave but they ordered the food anyway. We all ordered basically the same thing — tuna sandwiches of different varieties. Therefore, I can’t speak to a wide selection on the menu, but the tuna salad was missing something. I don’t know exactly what, but it wasn’t seasoned very well. It needed salt and pepper for sure, and maybe celery or something else. Basically, the service was horrendous and the food was somewhere below mediocre. I would never come back and I would never, ever recommend it to a friend. In fact, I might dissuade a friend.

I prefer port of subs over subway any day. Everything is sliced fresh right in front of you. HOWEVER, I wouldn’t really come here. I don’t feel like my son got enough to eat, there just wasn’t a lot of meat on his sandwich. He ate everything no complaints though, just said he was hungry after. They had way too many people up at their tiny little counter. If they have that many people they need to have a system. Sandwiches got put out of order when it came time to pay.

I like Port of Subs and this location has friendly service and the food is good. It’s better than Subway but I would recommend asking for double meet. Prices are a little high for what you get, but the quality is there. The only problem I would have is when it’s busy they really do run slow. So if your in a hurry call ahead, otherwise it’s a great place to get a sub sandwich.

First time here. Subs are okay. This location doesn’t not really put enough meat on it. I ordered the italian, #1. It was good, tasted fresh but the bread was lacking in flavor.

Port of Subs is yet another franchise I’m still getting used to, as we don’t have any back east. Seems like the place is a step above Subway for the most part(especially the ones closest to this location, as they appear to be extremely short on labor these days,) but it also seems to be a bit pricier. I found the smoked cheddar cheese to bring a great flavor, turkey and cheese being the only sub variety I’ve tried yet over there. Very fresh vegetables and toppings, friendly employees. I can only give it four stars, because I agree with some of the other reviewers about the skimpy meat portions here. I’ve also been to the location at Grand Sierra Resort, and there’s been a day-to-night difference between the two.

Awfully scrimpy on the meat for how much they charge for these things :(

I always get the same thing at any port of subs(sml #1 on wheat). Although it’s been sometime sine i’ve had a POS sandwich, I DO remembrer that the bread is supposed to be FRESH. Today’s bread was dry and stale.

I wanted to love this place, because they are everywhere, but Subway(I hate to say it, because I don’t like large, national chains) is better. I got 2 small subs, the meatball and the Italian. The meatballs tasted only of parmesean cheese, which I absolutely HATE, and it permeated the entire sandwich even before the meatball. It was seriously gross. The Italian(pepperoni and salami) was nothing special. And the bread might as well have been soft cardboard, it had zero flavor, texture, and appeal. The«fresh» veg may have seen fresh about a week ago. I am sorely disappointed and won’t be buying sandwiches from this joint. And I’m also sad that I wasted my lunch calories and dollars on something so sub-par.

I have worked in this area for the past five years and I really enjoy it. I always get exactly what I asked for and in a timely manner. And most importantly, great staff! They are always so friendly and cheery. Sometimes, they cheer eachother on, great team!

What can I say about Port O subs. As I stood there and watched them hap hazardly make me a sandwich,(I should have bought some bologna at the 7 – 11 store… geesh) anyways the person behind the counter cut the sandwich roll at such an angle that half the meat lay on the counter with the other half on the roll, and before I could say«can I please have a different roll?» Get ready… you guessed it. «Would you like everything on that?» Um yeah sure, now i’m being the nice undemanding tourist now. I never did understand places that ask that question. then they just add onions or a lemon wedge? Hey! You’re in Reno… buy the damn sandwich! Which I did and only after I added mustard, mayo, ketchup black pepper and hot sauce… all that couldn’t save it. So whenever I go there I turn left for Phở.

Convenient for lunch & sandwiches are fresh, but really it’s just a sub shop. The Port of Subs on South Meadows is better if that is possible since it’s the same chain.

The subs were okay, I got the cold pastrami with swiss. It was fresh but the seating is pretty messy since they share it with Viet Phở. They also need to get the brownies and cookies in the garbage. I bought a brownie as well, and it was expired. Compared to Viet Phở, this place is delicious. Just don’t go next door where the Asian ladies and managers are jerks and give you an angry face when you ask for something. Their food also stinks and is not genuine at all. Sorry, This is like a review about that Phở place too. I would pick P.O.S. over that Phở place ANYDAY!
