We came to Reno for memorial weekend for a little getaway. My husband loves hookah so of course I came on Unilocal to find one near us. That’s how I found this place. I put the address on our phone maps and it kept saying arrived when we came to a greyhound station. We were confused and we started looking around and there was only a hotel across the street. It was a quiet area and we thought forget it maybe it’s a shady place lol somehow I called the number listed on Unilocal.A girl picked up and told me they’re located directly underneath the hotel and she was super polite and friendly so it took my doubts to good feelings again. When we walked inside the place was packed and had a very casual, fun atmosphere with dim lights & loud music playing. Just what I wanted. We were greeted right away by an energetic girl and she seated us. Sorry I didn’t get any names but then a guy came to take our order. We told him what we liked and he was very attentive & patient. Then he gave his opinion on what we would like even better that was similar to the one we chose. We told him he’s the pro and he would know better. I’m glad we took his suggestion bc we loved it! It was a house special that had a grapefruit head(looked more like an orange) and coconut milk base. Amazing! The customer service, the environment & hookah was enough for me to give 5stars & we are def coming back again. Best hookah place I’ve been to hands down!

Super chill, all the employees were really friendly. The hookah is probably one of the best I’ve had. Super smooth and tastes great. Not very pricey either. If I’m back in Reno soon, I’d definitely come back.

Stopped in on my way to the airport. Great tasting hookahs and super friendly staff! I did the happy hour deal on a double Apple hookah. The place is a little hard to find. I called when I couldn’t find it, and got directions. Lots of comfy seating.

Best hookah place in Reno! One of the owners is a Marine veteran the other one is Turkish! It doesn’t get any better than this!

Very impressed by the attentiveness of the staff at Hookava. They suggested the vanilla mint which was the best I’ve had yet. The atmosphere is really comfortable and laid back. Next time I’d like to try adding fruit to the hookah(they have a wide variety of options/flavors to choose from). Definitely a place I’ll return to with friends to catch up and kick back.

Had a very fun and relaxing experience! My girlfriend and I were visiting for my birthday and had a great time. Great taste and loved getting the Pineapple bowl. The staff is super friendly and tend the hookah often. Just look hard when trying to find a place, kinda in a parking garage haha thanks for the great experience!

One of the BEST hookah lounges I’ve been to. And by far, the BEST hookah lounge in town. I don’t know what these amateurs are saying about it being a horrible place. If you want to smoke a hookah made by a professional, go to Hookava. New owners, better flavor, and amazing customer service. This place is DEFINITELY way better than some places who don’t even know what they’re talking about. About time Reno gets an amazing hookah lounge like that. Use your money wisely, and go to Hookava

The business was very recently taken over by new owners with a new set of staff and all I can say is. wow. It was an amazing way to spend my evening after work and having almost considered avoiding the place with its previous staff and setup I am so glad I reconsidered. The menu has been completely redone, and though it seems to have less flavors of shisha itself the combinations and options make for a unique and extremely pleasant experience. The music was at an enjoyable level(loud enough to focus on and jam out if that’s what you wanted and yet quiet enough that you could have conversation without yelling), the staff were on point with making sure the hookahs were tended to even though they were busy and the combination we went with was delicious. Something that really blew me away was not only how knowledgeable and passionate the owners/staff were but also that they provided something I haven’t seen at any other hookah bar in town, freshly hollowed fruit for a bowl option. Just. phenomenal and for the slight increase in price point from its previous setup I feel like it is much more than worth it.

My husband and I were looking for a cool cheap place to go for our anniversary. We chose Hookava because back in my husband’s college days he came here once and liked it. This place was actually really cool once you actually find it(Super tucked away), and once you kind of get over the disorganization of it all. It was a Saturday night so of course the music was loud, and there was a party going on. We chose a little spot in the corner which was perfect. I would have to say their prices here are AMAZING. We both got beers and we got a single hookah. Our tab was only $ 23. Hands down the cheapest hookah bar I have been to. Service wasn’t amazing, but we were taken care of. We are definitely going to come back for another round of raspberry hookah:)

Small bar with hooka! The bar has beer and wine only but a large hooka selection(~$ 15/hooka). The one thing I don’t like is that there’s no air flow and that place can get stuffy quick.

This place is a little hard to find as it is in the parking lot behind a church on Arlington, so make sure you don’t miss the turn in. I came here with my brother and sister. The place was still pretty empty considering it was only 7 pm which is still pretty early for people to go to a hookah lounge. We weren’t too sure on what flavors were good, so we asked for some recommendations from the«hookah person»(I’m not really sure what you call them). He was very informational and friendly, asking us about different preferences we had for types of flavor we like. He seemed like he knew his stuff, so we decided to leave our flavor decision in his hands, and he picked out Pandora’s Box for us. It was a fantastic flavor. It was a more subtle fruity taste, and not too overwhelming. I really enjoyed this flavor. I was just really impressed with the customer service here and how well he attended to our hookah to make sure it didn’t get too harsh. I will be back and bringing more friends!

First time in a hookah bar in Reno and decided to check this place out with a couple of friends. It was pretty hard to find though. I overall really liked this place. It was chill, good music, and great service. Even the customers, a lot seemed like regulars, were super chill and nice. Our favorite flavor to get was the Mint Chocolate which was really good. A good selection of flavors and the price was reasonable.

The staff is friendly but the location is hard to find. My biggest issue with the place was how dirty it was when I went. There was ash dust every where. I’ve been to a few hook a bars and this was the dirtiest one I’ve been to so far. If you don’t care about the ash though it’s a good place to hang out.

First time in a hookha bar in Reno. It was pretty cool. It was the first time my two friends tried hookha and they LOVED it. First off this place is in a weird spot, its totally hidden. Its underneath a hotel/apartment place called the Riveria(I think). You have to go down an alley to find it. People and service was super friendly. It was reasonably priced. They didn’t have much on their drink menu, but it was cool, we were there more to smoke anyway. Chairs and tables kinda looked dirty and dingy, lighting to me was a bit bright, felt like you really couldn’t chill. We tried the blueberry and it was pretty good. All and all it was a cool experience. We will return. :)

Do you ever go somewhere and think, «I am the oldest one in here,» but you’re in your mid 20’s? That’s kind of how I felt when I came to Hookava. In Foster City we have this place called Waterfront Pizza — it’s out on the lagoon, run by a(oh GOD I’m going to fuck this up) Middle Eastern family who can seriously cook up some fantastic grub. Their«side» business is hookah, and they pull in some serious profit(they’re the highest profiting business in FC). So, as a long-time patron of hookah bars(both in FC and around the Bay/SF), I know my tobacco. Even though we only got one flavor(irish cream), I’d hold off ordering anything of the sort in the future — get something citrusy/berry, but anything else will just fall flat. Anyway, there we were, sitting on the benches(cushions weren’t thick enough and my butt hurts), me reading the Odyssey(for CLASS I’m not a hipster I swear) and him on his iPad(also not a hipster), we drank a beer and smoked a hookah(okay so we’re hipsters). Total came out to just under $ 15. Pretty awesome. Unfortunately, there were way too many high schoolers in there. Or, at least, the kids who are in the awkward ages between 18 and 21, when they can’t drink but they can smoke and buy porn. They were playing this game where they’d have to lie down on their back… wtf is going on?! Is this NEW?! Also, Tosh.0 was playing and it was loud. Service was slowish, we first walked in wondering if there was even a bartender. No draft. Okay for a Tuesday night. Maybe I’ll go back.

Last night was my first venture into the world of Hookah Lounges. I must say, this place was pretty chill. When we got there, the place was a bit empty but it started to fill in a little towards the middle of our bowl. They have a pretty large assortment of sisha flavors and it seems pretty reasonably priced to me. They also serve beer and wine. I had a Newcastle and a water and it cost me $ 5. I hear the hookah was about 13. We had Blueberry and it was pretty tasty. All in all, not bad. The one thing I would really recommend to them would be more comfortable seating. Other than that, I’ll be stopping back here next time I am in Reno.
