Not sure why this café has such low ratings because my California Eggs Benedict was pretty good and so was the Margarita I ordered. The drink was not watered down although I wish they had gone easier with the ice. The service was good. The café was clean. The food came out at a reasonable speed and the prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area.

Went here for lunch as a party of eight and ended a party of 7. Waited over 40 minutes for our food to come out and then two in our party their chinese food was not ready. We had to ask two other servers to find out where the food was and finally one of our guests left a s she had to be in a class so had no lunch. To add insult to injury they faced us with an 18 percent gratuity charge for terrible service. They never even checked to see if the food was acceptable. The food is nothing out of the ordinary and we d definitely won’t be going back here again! we all left there complaining and it just felt on deaf ears and not even an attempt to say sorry or let me get a manager for you. all they are interested in is being a cash cow.

Since every other restaurant in GSR was closed we had to eat here. I have been waiting for my food for 30 minutes and haven’t seen my waitress since she took my order… It isn’t even busy so there’s no excuse why it should take this long for food. I wouldn’t be so mad if the waitress at least informed me or even checked on us.

Service was decent but food was very mediocre at best. I got the chicken parmigiana with pasta. Chicken was way over cooked and the pasta was lukewarm. My wife got shrimp scampi with linguine. Her dish was bland. Very disappointed with our experience here.

This place is located inside Grand Sierra resort. I do not really have any amazing things to say about this place. Here are my three reasons for giving them one out of five stars. First off, we ordered take out, which cost an extra $ 2.00 fee. I thought that was ridiculous. We were staying in Grand Sierra Resort, so they should have an option where they waive that fee if you are staying at their hotel. Secondly, Alexis took our order and we felt that she had a bad attitude. She spoke to us in a rude tone or as if we were stupid. She shouldnt be helping the guests like that if she would like people to return. Lastly, the food was okay. I ordered the cinnamon french toast. It came with bacon. I felt that the french toast lacked enough cinnamon. My boyfriend ordered a medium rare steak, which also came with green beans and mashed potatoes. His steak was not medium rare, but more like well done. Overall, we are not coming back here again because of the not so great food and the lack of friendliness from the workers(or I should say, from Alexis).

We had lunch at GC during our recent gambling trip to Reno. Food was OK, a bit uninspiring. I ordered a patty melt with side of fruit. Hubby ordered a large stack of pancakes. My Burger was overcooked and dry and way too thick as was the marbled rye bread. Made it hard to eat. It seemed like they cooked each ingredient separately… toasted the bread, grilled a few onions, grilled the burger and added the cheese(which wasn’t melted at all) and just put it all together instead of grilling it as a unit because it wasn’t the ooey-gooey moist sandwich it should have been and it lacked the flavor of a good patty melt. I wound up cutting the meat in ½ because it was just too thick. The fruit salad was good with melon, strawberries, pineapple and grapes. I noticed the girl at the table next to us had ordered a burger also and she barely ate any of it. She told her table partner that it was too dry. So maybe they need to rethink how their burgers are prepared. Hubby liked his pancakes, 3 nice big ones and he said they had a good flavor. That’s a big plus because he’s a pancake connoisseur and finds that many of the pancakes he orders in restaurants have no flavor. So basically we had one good meal and one just OK meal. We would go to this place again if we were in the GSR resort but I will order something different. We did notice a couple at the table on the other side of us had ordered some really nice looking Chinese food. Maybe we’ll try that next time.

Ewww this place is terrible. The comic book wallpaper was cool but that’s the only good thing about this restaurant. My t bone steak and eggs were super bland and tasted like Denny’s yuuuuck! My friends burger was equally as terrible. Don’t waste your time, money or hunger here.

The Grand Café is located inside the The Grand Sierra Resort. On our trip to Reno, from the Bay Area, we were forced to stay an extra night because of horrible weather conditions. We were able to book a room, at great rate, through an app called Hotels Tonight. We wanted a place to have a variety of choices but also have some good, traditional, breakfast. We walked around the resort and stumbled upon this place. We were seated immediately and the staff was very friendly. There was three in my party, one ordered Noodles, the other ordered Spaghetti and I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. Our order did take a while but the food was well worth the wait. It was presented nicely and tasted great. All in all, I was very satisfied with the resort and the restaurant. I would go back again. Pros: Variety, good food and location. Cons: Long wait and uncomfortable seating.

This is always a good«go to» coffee shop while staying at Grand Sierra Resort. The only issue I have with them is for breakfast the way under cook the hash browns and the eyes are always undercooked so remember when ordering breakfast to ask for crispy hashbrowns and your eggs cooked 1° more than you want. I love getting a full pot of coffee during breakfast.

We decided to stop in for breakfast yesterday morning. Grand Café is located in the Grand Sierra Resort. If you stay at the GSR, they usually give you a coupon for the restaurant. The restaurant was packed, so we waited for about 15 minutes to be seated. Our server was very nice and efficient. I had the Chicken Apple Frittata which has spinach, mushrooms, apple chicken, and goat cheese… which sounded delicious! The food was served and while the flavors were good, the plate was served semi-warm. I was short on time(as always) so I couldn’t send it back. I did like the dish. Hubby’s plate was semi-warm as well, it may have been because they were so busy. Anyway the service was nice, the food was good, will go back when we are staying at the GSR.

After 9pm on a Friday night, the hubbs & I just walked in and were immediately brought to a table. Waitress was quick and helpful. Given the reviews on Unilocal,we decided to play it safe and seek the advice from the server. From the options given, she advised the Reuben was the most popular and it was indeed very tasty. Came on toasted marble rye, sauerkraut and thousand Island on the side. Fries were good but not plentiful. Perfect portion for one person and a light dinner for two. The hubbs and I shared the Reuben and then went next door for the individual turtle cheesecake to go. One Reuben with tax came to $ 11.08, we left a $ 3 tip and felt it was a good deal. While there, learned they have a t-bone, eggs & hash brown special after 10pm for $ 15

In the middle of our favorite casino resort, Grand Sierra! It’s awesome that they stay open 24⁄7! You can count on them to be here no matter what time of the day. Excellent service, every time we’ve stopped by. The staff is helpful and attentive. There was a time when I wanted to order a side of coleslaw and instead of just serving me the coleslaw, he told me coleslaw is best when it’s… Pretty much marinated for a while, rather than being served totally fresh. So as a result, he checked it the coleslaw in the back and told me to try again next since it’s not«good enough» yet today. We were grateful for the small gesture. The food is just average. Nothing too terrible, but not the best, with a hefty price tag. I don’t recommend their Chinese food part of the menu since Chinese cuisine isn’t their specialty. The boyfriend ordered the honey walnut prawns and it just tasted a little off with a smaller portion. On the bright side, you’re able to use your comp’s here!

What can I say it’s the GSR coffee shop 24⁄7. The offer a fair amount of sammies, burgers, Chinese food and breakfast all day! Don’t order a cocktail from the dozen people that will ask if you«Would you like something to drink.» That comes for the server and the server only! I usually order a water just to stop the beverage inquisition. I usually stick to sandwiches but thanks to a 21-day challenge I can’t eat white bread. So I opted for the Kobe Meatloaf. Not like mamas but enjoyable. It’s my pop’s favorite casinos so we tend to celebrate most holidays and birthdays with lunch at Grand Café since I’m not a fan of the buffet and restaurant row is closed for lunch… SAD!!! Pop always goes for the NY Steak. In 2015, it was a 50⁄50 split on good/bad. Our 1st visit for 2016 they get an A+ on the steak. It was his bday so he got the Apple Tart(sub for bday cake) …they changed it up very arty. He enjoyed it! The servers are lovely. Not on a 1st name basis with any. I have NOIDEA why they are now serving off trolleys!!! It’s a coffee shop not a 50 year old steak house. The space does not support this kind of service. Will I go again — absolutely. Should you go yeah if you’re in GSR and want a meal with good service; sure do it!

The hostess on December 29 @ 6:30 was a total witch. She was so rude seeing I was waiting to place my name on the waiting list for dinner, she seen me 4 times but kept looking at her list and looking at the crowd behind me. When I asked if she can place my name on the list she said«no I cannot, you are standing in the wrong spot.» I needed to take ONE step to my right before she took my name. It must feel real good to have so much power? We left the hotel grabbed a taxi and ate at a place that will appreciate people. Thank you GSR thanks to this hostess I know we will never stay at this resort again.

We’ve come here countless times now and have always been pleased with the food and service. It’s been our choice for breakfast most often if we are staying at the Grand Sierra. The breakfasts here are always delicious and never disappoint. The Loco Moco is delicious. The moist hamburger patty atop garlic rice with brown gravy with a fried egg. Better than Peg’s! The California club breakfast Sammie was also Yumm! Bacon, egg, avocado on a flaky croissant with a side of fresh ripe fruit. Hubby’s ham and egg has always been a winner as well. Love the newly decorated Pop Art displayed throughout the café, giving diners a bit of cheer, if they’re down on their luck at gambling the night before.

This place deserves no stars. My husband wanted to buy our little boy a simple dinner to munch on before bed. My husband went downstairs to Grand Café around 7:30pm on a Saturday evening. They straight up told him they were too busy to help him… that’s not how you run a business. The resort needs to start taking a closer look at how business is being run within their company. Anyway, husband went to a different restaurant in the resort.

An «ok» breakfast… casino quality at a much higher price. I ordered the California Eggs Benedict(minus crab meat). For $ 13.99, I expected better. The poached eggs were fully cooked through and the plate was garnished with veggies old enough to draw Social Security. I’ve had better coffee from a gas station. I think if this was an $ 8.99 breakfast it would have been ok, but for $ 13.99 it is unacceptable to not have fresh ingredients. I would not have noticed if they had left the garnish off(shredded carrots isn’t the best garnish for hash browns anyway) so whoever played this just wasn’t paying attention.

Just another 24 hour restaurant in a Casino. Not where you want to go for a gourmet meal. When I go to these places, I usually order my «safe food.» Either a BLT… worse they can do is overcook the bacon and at least you have a tomato and lettuce sandwich if it’s too crispy. Or a burger… if you can eat a Big Mac you can eat a burger almost anywhere.

The food was very good and the service was very nice, but the prices had me confused! Here’s my trouble… 1. 4 piece bacon, 2 egss, potatoes and toast = $ 12. 2. Croissant sandwich with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, avocado, tomato, spinach and a side of fresh fruit = $ 10. I’m not an expert by any means but I do go shopping and I think option 2’s total price of items is more than option 1. I mean ya it was good, but will I go back? When they lower the prices, yes. BTW…you can go to there buffet and as a local, pay $ 9 for all you eat breakfast.

I have to start off by saying this review is based solely on one item. The Juicy Lucy. When you hear that name, your ears perk up. I have seen on the Food Channel what a juicy lucy should look like. Living here on the west coast, we do not come across the juicy lucy often. Before I get into the review, let me explain what a juicy lucy is. If you looked at it and did not know any better, you would think it is a normal hamburger. But encased inside the half pound burger is the cheddar cheese. The golden goodness is locked up inside the burger until you take a bite, and then the dam is broken and the melted cheese comes dripping out, as beautiful as a Picasso painting. Every bite renders cheese, and not the kraft slice cheese. This is the real deal cheese cut from a block. Back to the review. The presentation of the burger was good, and my voice in my head was screaming JUICYLUCY. I took a bite and my heart dropped, it is like that moment when the prop on the airplane stutters. There was no cheese oozing out, i looked real close and could not see any cheese at all. I thought, well i will take another bite, then i will get to the melted golden happiness. I so wanted to do my happy dance. Another bite yielded the same results. I could vaguely spot some cheese, but it was not dripping and there did not seem to be much. The burger was overcooked and the bun fell apart halfway through. I will definitely not order this again, unless i feel it necessary to get my heart ripped out again.

After the Diana Krall concert on the night of August 15, 2015, we ended up here since all the other food options were either too crowded or closed. We were seated right away and our server was friendly and fast with drink and food orders. I ordered their have it your way Omelette because, you can mess up eggs too much and, anytime is the right time for breakfast. Food delivery took about 15 minutes and it was steaming hot. The taste was a bit bland but, a little Tabasco, Pepper and Ketchup took care of that. Overall, not a bad meal but, not the best either. Are there better places to eat in the hotel? I’d venture to say yes but again, due to the wait times of others and the lack of choices, the Grand Café will fill the void and would especially be good if I had been intoxicated.

Good food with huge serving. We were surprised that the food tasted really good. A bit pricey but I wouldn’t mind for good food. Service was ok and you have to flag down a server to help you but the food made up for that. Worth a try!

Today was our first visit to Grand Sierra Resort! We had $ 50 of free promotion points to use towards food and because Johnny Rocket’s said we had to go back to the Rewards desk for a voucher which was kinda confusing why we can’t use our Player’s cards there(Seems they are not owned by the casino, including Port of Subs, Round Table downstairs floor area), we ended up at the Grand Café. At first sight, I was excited by all the colorful décor and cool design of the place! Really neat pictures on the wall and art style which reminded me of Andy Warhol. In the menu there is a short description of Pop Art! The food choices were similar to any café/diner, good burgers, sandwich, steak, salads, soup, breakfast options to choose from! I wanted something different and Fish tacos sounded great! We had nice friendly server too, it wasn’t very busy but I noticed they had a lot of staff working! My plate came with 3 Fish tacos topped with a big amount of Fresh Guacamole on flour tortillas, rice and beans, little sides of salsa, sour cream, Baja sauce and limes. The beans and rice were okay, didn’t taste homemade but that was fine cause I’m watching my carbs and mainly only ate the Fish tacos. The Fish tacos were great, loved the Baja sauce and all the sides. 2 would have been enough for me. I liked the taste of the fish for being fried but I’m not sure what kind of fish it was! I’m glad I picked this, it was a great lunch and the best part is when you use your Players points, they take off the tax!!! We already knew we were eating for free but the no tax thing surprised me! I’m sure we will come back to Grand Sierra Resort and I wouldn’t mind eating here again :)

In a nutshell: mediocre food & a horribly long wait. After being told the wait time was 15 min, we waited over half an hour. We were tired of waiting but still hungry, so we decided to order the food to go. My boyfriend got the farmer’s buffet which came with a lot of food. They didn’t give him any syrup to go with his pancakes though; lame. Also, they asked if he wanted his eggs scrambled soft or hard… even though he asked for soft, they came out hard. Lol My create your own omelet was plain & dissatisfying. They charge an extra 50 cents for anything more than 2 ingredients in your omelet. Oh yeah, and to add insult to injury, they charge an extra dollar for«to go» orders. The total for all of this bs came out to around $ 28. Not worth it.
