Since I moved to NV in Decemeber this has become one of my absolute favorite places to go. The atmosphere is great… very laid back. The patrons are super nice, and I love how everyone knows everyone and if they don’t know you they make it a point to talk to you. The bartenders are amazing… after like 3 times of going they remember me by name and what beer I want. Half the the time they can even tell me what to eat and they’ve always been spot on. Now that it’s baseball season, I don’t even have to ask them to put my game on… they see me and just change it. I LOVE that. I love the variety of food they have… something for every mood and it always comes out just like I order. I’ve had a few different things… crisp and juicy chicken tenders, moist and perfectly cooked blackened salmon and some chicken pesto sandwich that was delicious! Can be pretty family friendly… I never really see kids after 8 or 9 so that can be good depending on the crowd you’ve got and they stay pretty busy all day.

Every family has that one family member… the one that sticks out and doesn’t seem to have the same vibe. Last name is the same. Familial ties are there. Something just seems a tad off — usually a distant cousin right? Welcome to the Flowing Tide’s cousin. Same Tide name. Same Tide menu. Same Tide décor. Just off slightly. The only thing not off — the food. We were running and errand in the area and I wanted some food and a spot to watch a playoff hockey game. We weren’t greeted… by anyone. We sat and waited and finally ad someone come over and drop off menus. No drink order. Just menus. I stepped away from the table to use the restroom — the not so clean, run down bathroom. The door wasn’t really locking as the door hinges seemed quite loose, there was TP on the floor and general disarray everywhere. I don’t think it needed just a cleaning, it needed a facelift. I came back and the waitress still had not come by and asked for a drink order. I already knew what I wanted(I love their BLT’s) so when she arrived we ordered right away. Then, as both of mentioned our selection it was upsell after upsell. BLT — want avocado? Do you want fries or to swap a side out? We can swap out several sides for a small price. My wife ordered tacos — want avocado? Want blah blah blah? Calm down upsell — I want a BLT, your incredibly delicious fries and a water. That’s all. I stopped listening and said just the BLT with fries would do. Food came out fast — awesome. Cooked perfectly. Super crunchy bacon. Crispy, fresh lettuce. A HUGE smear of mayo. I removed the bread, scraped off a pile and returned my bread before I dug in. Once I removed 90% of the mayo the ratio was perfect. Mental note — mayo on the side or request SUPEREASY on the mayo. We ate and watched the game. We were checked on once. When the bill was delivered. Then the bill sat, with my credit card ready, for a few rounds of the waitress walking past us. Once settled, we exited quickly, again, without a single word of «see ya again» or «thanks for coming» from the 2 employees we passed and the bartender. I love Tide and this location is not the Tide I love. Skip this location and go to one of the others for the true Tide experience.

Went again for that amazing blue cheese bacon burger, and it didn’t disappoint. We tried the onion rings, and I loved them, too. My husband thought they were greasy, but I just thought they were crispy and delicious. Much better than the ones we had at Burger Me. Their batter dipped fries are amazing, too, crispy and delicious. The entire staff ended up taking care of us, from Sean, our server, to another server, and the cook, and they were all so friendly and fun, they helped make our experience so much better. Sean is a great big baseball fan, and we enjoyed talking ball with him while enjoying a game on the big screen. Now, if they only will come to the North Valleys, so we can enjoy their food more often, life will be perfect!!!

Two words: Happy Hour! Flowing Tide has a few locations all around Reno/Sparks so pick whichever location you prefer. There are two happy hours: 4:00pm-6:00pm and 10:00pm-12:00am. The happy hour menu offers $ 6(huge) appetizers, half of some beers, $ 2 off well drinks, and a few other drink deals. Needless to say, this place is definitely affordable. The service is always really good, and it is busy often. I’ve never had a bad experience at Flowing Tide. If you are looking for something fun for a group of you to drink consider trying the Shipwrecked. This is a fish bowl(yes, you heard correctly) filled with alcohol. There are vodka, tequila, and rum variations of the Shipwrecked. The food here is your pretty standard: nothing exceptional, but all quite good.

Great pub, awesome selection of craft brews with great staff and service. The food is not standard brew pub fare but that of a high quality restaurant with extremely fair pricing. I’d bring my Mom here… Hell, I’d even haul my in laws in this establishment for some real fun. Addendum: it should be known that if you expect to make this a Monday-Friday stop for your post shift beer, you’re not so welcome to sit at the bar and enjoy a ballgame and/or meet and talk with new people. This location at North McCarran Blvd. and Seventh Street in Reno is heavily gaming oriented and discourages occupation by drinking only patrons at the bar in protection of the revenues they collect from gaming as well as the gratuities staff receive from both minor and large wins, it is essentially a gaming/gambling establishment and there is no issue here with me, I get it. It’s about the money, not only for the establishment but also for the bar employees and their income. It is regrettable that this takes preference over the local non gambling patron and creates a discriminatory and unpalatable situation resulting in request of patronage at only the tables and restriction from the bar seats or expulsion in violation of said requests. Straight up… I get it and understand the protection you need to have in place regarding your business model and the tax free cash gratuities your staff earns from winning gamers. It is and has always has been my hopes that«TheTide» succeeds forever and continues to be the best Reno has to offer in their niche.

Call me a liar! I said I wouldn’t come here again, but picture this: it was 10 at night, and I was craving a hamburger. I didnt want to drive far, so that left me with flowing tide and I’m so glad it did. It was the flowing tide I remembered and wasn’t close to the bad experience I had last time. We didn’t even realize we came at happy hour, so that made it all the better. We sat down and immediately looked over the drink menu, you can’t beat these prices for happy hour honestly! I got the Rip Tide and my boyfriend got the High Beam. Both came out quickly and were DELICIOUS. Seriously, so damn good. We then both ordered a bbq burger with onion rings. Again, food came out within 12 minutes I would say, satisfying my hungry belly quickly! The burger was good. Nothing to write home to mom about, but good! It was drenched in bbq. I know it’s called the bbq burger, but damn. That was a lot of bbq! The onion rings were baller. Seriously, seriously yummy! Service was great. Our waitress was laid back, cool and very nice. This was a great experience, I’m excited to come back and try that happy hour again!

I’m going to take a moment to edit my review below. While nothing actually changes below, I am totally impressed that the manager of this particular Flowing Tide took the time to message me about how unhappy she was about our meals taking so long. Someone who takes the time to care about one customer, deserves another chance. So I will visit again, soon and see how we fare from there. *********************** Flowing Tide… yet, another sports bar. But we were moving my sister and we were hungry and this was the closest place to eat. Years ago they used to featured an «Irish Egg Roll,» which was basically a Rueben fried in egg roll skin… loved them. Don’t know when they disappeared from the menu. So I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries, my brother a steak sandwich au ju and my sister, bless her soul, needed a «meal» and order their shrimp dinner. So lunch took almost a half an hour to get to us(probably my sister’s meal), others who arrive later ate and left just as we received our meals. My burger was fine. no complaints… when you go to a bar, order bar food. My brothers au ju was cold(had to get up to find a waiter to tell him to bring hot au ju — which he did and was very friendly about it); but the beef was still dried up and over cooked. My sister actually enjoyed her shrimp, although for a dish that features garlic, there was very little garlic in it. So as sports bars are not my preferred places to dine, they are plentiful in Reno and many make a real good burger.

When I first came live to Reno(BY — Before Unilocaling) this was my go to place for a pub grub. It’s not fancy, trendy or cutting edge. It’s just good food. There’s a total of 5 Flowing Tide Pubs in Reno/Sparks. #1 is at 10580 N McCarran Blvd was my local. The location is great! It’s near tons of shopping so a perfect place for lunch post-retail therapy or breakfast pre-shopping. I’m sure it works well for dinner but I usually bellied up to the bar at that time of day. It has everything you’d want in a pub — tons of BIGSCREENS to watch sport, darts/pool tables, bar seating with gaming, high boy tables in bar area and booths/tables closer to the kitchen(good for families) plus the serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The good: They make darn good BLT with either sweet potato fries or onion rings(there’s a small up charge for either) or just fries(no extra charge) Double Happy Hour — 2:00pm — 6:00pm and 10:00pm — Midnight(½ off beer, well drinks & $ 6 apps) Burgers, wraps, salads are all good so it’s great for a group with varying tastes. Drinkable wines for a pub Extensive beer options The not so good: I don’t live in that part of town so I don’t make it up there as much these days. Ok it’s a guilty pleasure, I’m always a bit excited when someone recommends going here. It’s not top of mind but always enjoyable.

This is the 3rd time I have been here and I’ll give them one thing, they are consistent — consistently average. Mediocre at very best. The south Reno location is much better. The west Reno/mcarran location has fairy poor service, food is always lukewarm and takes forever. Skip this place and head to pub n sub.

Boyfriend and I decided to stop by here on our way home for some dinner, since it was his night to cook. It was super crowded, mostly because of football Sunday, but luckily we were able to find a table somewhat toward the back. Our waitress greeted us right away and took our drink orders. Unfortunately, they don’t serve my favorite: the Crimson Tide anymore, so I settled for a Black Pearl Sangria. It wasn’t as good as the Tide, but it was still pretty tasty. I ordered a bowl of their French Onion soup and my boyfriend got the BBQ burger. I was going to take pictures of how great it looked, but as soon as they brought the food out to us, I immediately devoured it. But trust me when I say that both entrées were awesome. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, and often came back to check on us. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re on that side of town!

In response to Taylor R’s review written 8÷31÷15: Taylor R wrote: «We asked if she sat exact opposite end of the table and she said no. We asked if they could make it and if we could poor it into cups, and they still said no. When we informed her we were trying not to be rude or annoying but this drink is the most cost efficient and it’s a right of passage drink!» Go troll somewhere else. What business establishment who serves alcohol would pour the drink into little red college drinking game cups to conceal the alcohol just so you can enjoy yourselves at their expense? By the way, POUR is spelled with a U, not two O’s. It pains me to write this in response, but felt it necessary so people like her don’t write reviews on any other business’ page she just happens to visit. Hey, Taylor, what if she served your table a fish bowl, let alone in little red cups, and someone at your table was a minor and took even a small sip? THEYCOULDLOSETHEIRLIQUORLICENSE! Is any of this starting to register? To the folks at Flowing Tide #1 — Keep up the fine work. You have a classy place, excellent food, dynamite service, and an atmosphere I’ve been enjoying for 19 years. You rock!

This place is the best. Great people, great drinks and the best food. If you can get here for happy hour get a Dark and Stormy and order of the appetizers menu. Great value and the food is hot and fresh. And if you don’t give Lee a good tip I will find you.

It’s been years since I had been here and a friend suggested we come for brunch. Prior to my visit yesterday I had always loved the food and service. I decided on lunch so I ordered a tuna melt with a side of the beer battered fries(I have always loved the fries). My food was warm, but bland, dry and just plain mediocre. Our server was nice, but not attentive. We had to keep flagging her down just to ask for a drink and had trouble trying to place an order. When we finally received our food it was a let down and she never checked back. It overall was just disappointing. I won’t be rushing back so soon.

I love this place. I used to live within walking distance and spent many a night, a morning, an afternoon here. Depending on the time of day, the crowd and ambiance always seems to fit my mood. Sunday breakfast is low key and calm even with the games on. Lunch can be a business crowd during the week, and anything in between on the weekend. They have a great happy hour and the crowd gets a bit rowdier in the evening which suits me and my friends just fine! This mornings breakfast was a bit rough. Lots of small issues but nothing that wasn’t fixed fast and with a smile. The servers here are ALWAYS awesome with a good sense of humor. I’ll be back. Just wish I didn’t live so far away to come back sooner!

I keep trying to come back to this place for years, but don’t think I’ve ever really enjoyed any of the food! I never come here by choice(anymore), it’s always where a group of friends or family wants to go, but have yet to actually like anything. The food seems to taste so boring. So again, I went tonight, because that’s where all the ladies were meeting up after a work event. First, I ordered an Amaretto sour. All it really tasted like was cheap, old sweet and sour mix with a smidge of something alcoholic, but not amaretto! Was it a Dollar Store special Amaretto? Certainly not Disaronno. It was truly horrible. And nothing else, not a speared maraschino cherry or an orange wedge. Then I ordered a seafood appetizer. I don’t recall the name but it had fried clams, calamari, and prawns. Once again, fairly blah. Not sure why I am surprised. «Blah» has been the name of the game every time I go. No special seasoning on the fries, nothing unique about the sandwiches, just food that takes up space in your stomach without giving you any enjoyment in your mouth. We have gotten the nachos in the past, my husband says they always give him a stomach ache. But I give two stars rather than one because the service is generally pretty good. They are friendly and nice. But for heaven’s sake, get some new recipes with a little flair.

The Flowing Tide Pub is owned by Jason Tolotti. Jason has done great things with his bar/restaurant seeing much growth with new locations. The original Flowing Tide is located in Northwest Reno off of McCarren Blvd. Danielle and I like to go there and watch a football game and maybe have a beer. The service has always been great by both the bartenders and the waitresses. This location has a great atmosphere during big sport events and friendly customers. Jason has done good things with his Pub and he continues to do amazing things for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation(JDRF) by supporting the organization whenever the JDRF reaches out to him for support. If you are ever looking for good eats at an afforadable rate try Flowing Tide Pub!

If you are looking for a place to have lunch or dinner at a reasonable price, this is a great option. I have to admit I lived in Reno 2 years before giving this place a try. With the windows being covered with beer posters, I always thought it was more bar and not a good place to eat… I was wrong. After other Unilocaler’s encouraged me to give it a try, the hubby, teenager(kids under 21 can eat there until 9) and I gave it a try. I was really surprised when I walked inside of how nice it looked more like a restaurant and not a bar(not that I do not like bars, but when with the teenager I want restaurant). We seated ourselves and a server had our drinks to us within minutes. The menu is extensive with something for everyone on it, and the pricing is really reasonable! I ordered the Cheese Steak, son had the wings, and hubby had a burger. Everything was really good! The teenager thinks they have some of the best wings in Reno(believe me he has tried most of them). Servers are always friendly and efficient. Flowing Tide has become one of our favorite places to eat lunch and dinner. We haven’t visited during football season, but I am looking forward to watching sports on one of their many televisions.

Out of all the sports bars in town, the Tide is at the top of my list. How do I rate my bars? #1 Bartender. I have not had 1 bad experience with the person working behind the plank. Kudos to the owners, they trained their bartenders well. They know their regular clients, and pay special attention to them versus to just catering to the girl wearing the low-cut dress who is going to stiff them on the gratuity. Whoever tells you bartending is an easy job is a fucking moron. It’s hard work and these guys get an A+. #2 Affordability. Most bars run their happy hour from 4 to 6. They start a couple hours earlier, every day. If I am hammered by 5, it’s a good day in the neighborhood. Their apps on the menu are a great value for the quality of food you get. #3 Food. I left this for last because it is not really a requirement for me to find a bar with food. The Tide’s kitchen consistently whips above average pub food. The Cioppino and Pan Roasts are something to write home about! The only reason they do not get 5 stars is because every time I brag to my friends about the Tide and bring them on down, we have to sit at a table. The wait staff seems to move at a snail’s pace. They say that nobody is perfect. Then they tell you practice makes perfect. I wish they’d make up their minds.

Whether you are looking to catch a game on t.v., have a cheap drink, grab some pub food, or all three, Flowing Tide will satisfy your needs. Came on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. The place was packed. Its seat yourself, but the waitress showed up pretty quick to take our drink order. They have multiple t.v.s you can see at least one from any table. I ordered a Riptide, not a bad drink for $ 5 regular price. Then i tried a Black Pearl Sangria, it had a refreshing citrus kick. For food I had the fish and chips. The fish is four huge beer battered pieces of cod. It had the appropriate amount of crunch without being overdone. The chips were a classic pub style french fry. Once again, perfect amount of crunch. Overall, I liked the place. I’ll come back again!
