Headed here for happy hour based on some local employee’s advice and stayed there eating for almost 3 hours. Service was great. My waitress, Lauren took great care of me. Beer selection was great. Maryland crab and cream crab combo soup was great. Had some of the $ 1 oysters as well as the other varieties available. You can’t go wrong with any of them. Now for the main course, 6 large blue crab. Amazing and succulent. Down the 6 and ordered 2 more. Lauren kept the variety of beer coming. Ended the meal with a slice of key lime with a fried Oreo and a scoop of vanilla. With a tanq and tonic. They definitely got everything right here. Can’t wait to get another opportunity to head back. Kudos to the restaurant.

We usually come into Reter’s for all you can eat oysters and Bloody Mary’s on Saturdays but my husband and I decided to come last week with some friends for an after-work dinner. There were 11 of us in total. We can be a handful at times, but our server Ally was so helpful it was like she knew what we needed before we actually thought we needed it! She consistently kept our glasses full and our stomachs happy. We started with some beers and appetizers. It’s a beachy restaurant so they have a bunch of local beach beers on tap! I got the sampler flight of the local beers and a sangria. I liked the first 3 beers on the sample flight but wasn’t a fan of the 4th one I chose because I don’t like IPAs. Sangria was AMAZING. Such a pretty presentation too. My friend and I split the greek salad for an appetizer(incredible dressing) but the rest of the gang got wings, shrimp, and everything in between. We ordered 3 and a half dozen of the jumbo crabs and wow were they great! Fresh crabs that were very meaty and tasted delicious. For dessert we had sundaes and a smores funnel cake — talk about YUM! Overall great experience and I’m sure we will be back for dinner again soon.

We were a little bit late for the reservation but they were very accommodating. Everyone in our party that I was able to talk to said their food was excellent, including those crab cakes. Anyway, for being such a good place it’s a little bit weird that they’re in a strip mall. I hate those things and whenever I see an establishment such as this in one of these places my head automatically thinks it’s shite. Well, in this case I was proved wrong. The only detraction for me is that so much of the menu is fried and I don’t like to eat that. My Greek salad and baked potato were just fine and I left happy. The service was excellent and she did a great job given the fact that she was dealing with a slow kitchen. Now I understand how things can be when you’re busy, but seriously. It was the better part of 40 minutes until we got our food. They must have been short on that guy that keeps the orders in order. This place has an incredible reputation and despite the wait, I’m giving it 4 stars. It’s busy, it’s loud, and a good restaurant is the one place I will make room for that sort of thing. I love the hustle and bustle in a busy restaurant because somehow, it just adds to the whole experience and this was a good one.

Great place, good price, super friendly staff. The dozen crab and crab cream soup is little bit too salty. But overall still excellent!

Its independentally owned. Little dive bar/restaurant. Its clean and the staff are amazing Linda and Brenda awesome bartenders. Love the food the crab cake very meaty and little filler and the peel and eat shrimp great with a kick to it. Tried the soft shell crab our least favorite over fried and too much batter. Certainly will be back. Love it!

This was only my second time to Reter’s. My first time was very under whelming and almost lead to a no return. But it was a Friday night so seafood was in order and I didn’t feel like going to Cj’s. We popped in and sat at the bar. Happy hr is from 4 – 7 so we were right on time. We ordered the happy hr ½ lbs shrimp for $ 4.99. They were well season but we didn’t know that you could request them with onions(next time for sure!!!) they had the spring tropical drink specials which we opted to try. The pineapple sangria was very refreshing, that alone earns them a return trip. For an entrée I went with a simple burger(I wasn’t in the mode for the seafood options they had. I really wanted some fried clams). My burger came cooked the way I requested, though it could have been more on the rare side it was still juicy. I left out full and satisfied so they did their job.

I came in and it was about 6:55pm and happy hour is from 3−7pm. The waitress allowed me to still get the happy hour special still. I was impress because most places would’ve shut it down. The place is pack but has waiters everywhere so order was taken in great amount of time. I ordered the ½ shrimp(loved it), 5 clams, 5 oysters, mozzarella sticks(my girlfriend being a fatty as always), and 2 Arnold Palmer drinks. Everything came out to be 27 dollars. I was shocked. I recommend this place for happy hour only as the prices for the other items is pretty pricey. It seems as the servers have a connection with the customers as it more older adults than young crowd.

Good food. Waitress was really nice. Only thing might bother you is the smell in the restaurant. It’s smell like fish cause it’s a raw bar. But that’s fine. If you want fresh sea food it’s okay to have the raw smell.

I had a friend from out of town visiting and she wanted a Maryland crabby restaurant, so we went here over the weekend. So thrilled to see an all you care to eat special on oysters(steamed or raw) for $ 15! Raw were excellent, steamed were too done so rubbery. Service was pleasant, nothing good or bad, but fine. This is a great place when you know to expect low frills relaxed atmosphere but good food for what they do. Food doesn’t come out fast, but it’s good. A tad overpriced on a few things but overall 4 stars for good food, relaxed atmosphere and pleasant experience.

I’ve been been coming here for years and never had a problem, great food and service. I was there today though, sat on the corner of the bar and kept being ignored frequently. Over 10 minutes before anyone said anything to me and then took 10⁄15 minute wait for every drink. Food did come out hot, but took like 45 mins. Would not recommend sitting at the bar at this place.

I love the atmosphere and the people. The crabs are a bit pricey, but they are delicious! The seafood bucket is my favorite and it’s quite reasonable!

Visiting family in the area and they brought us to this local gem. Our hosts wisely made reservations because even on a Wednesday night the place was full with people waiting at prime dinner time(6:15 pm). Table was ready, but no silverware(we requested it after apps arrived). Atmosphere was lively, noisy but not oppressively so. Service was quite good, attentive without being over bearing. Pitchers of iced tea and water were brought without a request, so we never had to wait for drinks. The waitress did apologize as they were out of both broccoli and fresh vegetables, but had good suggestions for the rest of the order(sugar on hush puppies, seasoning on crab, etc) Food came out quickly and there were no errors in orders. The appetizers were tasty but really very small. Fried green tomatoes had 3 slices total, the crab bruchetta had four small sized bread rounds, coconut shrimp had three shrimps. Not really enough of any one item to share among a clearly large group. Highlights were the stuffed flounder, snow crab legs(ordered with light seasoning– which was a LOT, cannot imagine what full order must be like) and crab cakes(lots of crab, minimal filler, but a bit heavy handed on the seasoning for our diner with a sensitive palate.) No room for dessert. Restaurant wisely has a hand washing sink *outside* the restrooms(basically in the aisle of the room), perfect for post crab rinsing. I can’t imagine it’s as pleasant for those seated just nearby though. No handi wipes provided with crab orders, but that may be the usual for this area? Pricing was reasonable for the dinner items but the small size of the appetizers made them less reasonably priced. The apps are the reason this wasn’t a 5 star review because that’s my major complaint.

We daughter came from out of town and wanted crabs, but only a few. We choose Reter’s based on Unilocal reviews. We ordered 6 medium crabs and one pound of steamed shrimp. The crabs we meaty and flavorful. The shrimp perfectly cooked and yummy. I will definitely return here for more crab and shrimp.

Anyone giving this place less than 4 stars does not know a good crab house when they see one. I grew up in Baltimore, love Maryland crabs, and wouldn’t choose anywhere else for a night of cracking crabs. Yes, they are a little pricey, but the crabs are much better quality than the cheaper ones you can get from takeout places like Blue Point(also a good cheaper option). Reter’s makes their own old bay seasoning and it’s delicious! They have great sides like hush puppies, sweet potato fries, and fresh corn in the summer. They also have some fun house drinks — sangrias and orange crush type drinks usually — and their beer selection is alright. I like that they stock some more interesting summer beers like Kona beers. I also appreciate that they have a sink outside the bathrooms to rinse off after cracking crabs. It’s the small things that count. If you’re looking for a local crab place, nothing beats Reter’s! And in response to some of the bad reviews — if you’re ordering something other than crabs, you’re doing it wrong.

Great location great food. The crabs here are seasoned to perfection. Not like most crab houses that drown the crab in old bay. I wish the crabs were bigger but they are meaty. The steak and crab quesadillas are outstanding. I don’t eat steak so I bit around it and I was very impressed with the cheese and onion mash up. No guacamole which sucks but the food is good enough to look pass that. If you want to eat outside there’s 4 tables on the curb with large umbrellas and swell seating arraignment inside.

I always order crabs from here but lately the crabs have been on the smaller size. I call ahead to order and each time I have to wait 25 or 20 minutes after my pick up time for the crabs to be ready.

First time here and disappointed. Service was subpar. outside tables and seats were dirty; had to wait for table to be covered 5 minutes after sitting. Before ordering a mojito I clearly asked waitress to make sure it wasn’t too sweet. She said she’d accommodate but drink was even too sweet for my wife. I was told the drink would be charged to our bill even if I ordered another. She took the drink back without me ordering another. To my surprise I was still charged. We ordered fish tacos and shrimp wrap. Fish was partially cold but didn’t want to take risk of sending back and similar response from above occur. Maybe this is a spot to order strictly crabs and oysters, as I see the positive comments. But first impressions are important!

Order the oysters and steamed shrimp and they didn’t disappoint. The margaritas were excellent. They were busy and the service was kind of slow. But other than that they deserve the 4 stars.

Crabs here receive 5 Stars! We ordered 3doz Jumbo Jimmys that were packed with meat, flavorful & seasoned to perfection. Steamed clams were good. Their fries are money. Not sure what they do to them but my goodness they are tasty add ons. Our service was good and friendly. So glad my buddy recommended this spot to me that I’ve always drove passed without consideration. They also have a fresh fish, crab, shrimp market where you can come in and take it home like a typical fish monger’s market. I’m def coming back and so should you.

My fiancé and I live in the area, and we like to frequent the Happy Hour at Reter’s. He’s an oyster fan; I am not. Luckily there are still other HH specials to enjoy! The half pound of steamed shrimp is cooked well and not overly seasoned. The wings had a little more fat clinging to them than I would have liked, and one wing was slightly undercooked so I didn’t eat that one. Overall though, we were pleased with the quality and price. The major downer for me(a non-drinker) is that they serve Pepsi products, not Coke. It’s just not the same washing down your wings with Diet Pepsi. Le sigh.
