The food was great. Cambodian tends to be more sour than Thai and the stew with rock cod we ordered was perfectly balanced while the Pad Thai was saucy and very flavorful. We inquired about the restaurant, apparently the owner is Cambodian Chinese. The service was subpar. We walked in and nobody greeted us for a good five minutes. The old lady(owner’s wife) was busy playing with her laptop by the door. We asked a server on where to sit, and he pointed at a table in the back. The old lady obviously heard us and without looking up, she mumbled«take two menus and we will come get your order.» I thought she was so bizarre. We may come back again if Diner Japonica is closed, but the severe-looking old lady owner kind of dampens my enthusiasm for their tasty fare.

Loved this place !! We tried Pineapple Fried Rice, Red Curry with Tofu, Basil Tofu and Corn Cakes. All the dishes were delicious ! We went with«mild» for all of them. The taste was very authentic ! Would love to go there again ! And I totally agree with other Unilocal reviews on this one as well: the servers are so nice and friendly :-) The place has a very nice ambience as well. Totally deserves a 5⁄5 !

Service has improved. It’s seems the establishment has realized it has a good following but can have more reoccurring customers with a bit more effort. The staff has grown a bit at busy times as well.

Food was good, the service was a little delayed. No one directed us where to go and we had to get up to get the waitresses attention to get our check

I would’ve probably given them a 4.97, because it’s hard to imagine of a perfect score. Thaibodia had tasty dishes with a great server. We had the following meals, as vegan dishes, and they were still fantastic: Garlic Fries Spring Rolls Pad Thai Yellow Curry Pad See Ew I hope you get to visit this place to have the same great experience that I had.

The servers there are so nice and friendly! One waitress sounds like she’s rambling, but that doesn’t stop me from chowing down on their DELICIOUS food! The must haves are: *Tom kha soup(to die for) *Pad Thai(just seeing it makes me salivate) *To be honest, just try the whole menu; I haven’t found a Thai restaurant I love more. I’ve only been here a couple times, but trust me, I’ll be going to Thaibodia way more often.

Ordering over the phone was like nails on a chalkboard. Language barrier from the Thaibodia employee attempting to take my order. First, she didn’t understand the simplest of words, than she was quick to end the call and tell me it will take twenty mins. Twenty mins later. low and behold, she has no idea what we ordered! So now my husband has to wait for her to take the order AGAIN and then tries to accuse him by finding any excuse as to why the order isn’t ready. She was smoking outside, comes back in counts money, And then also handles customers sauces w/o washing her hands. 40 minutes later… we left empty handed. Not worth it!

This tastes extremely like home cooking; although, only if your mother is Thai. The service is attentive and they cater well to allergies and food preferences. Any of their stir fried dishes are extremely delicious. I’m Chinese, so I know stir fried; but Thai food comes which a whole other mix of flavors that Chinese food doesn’t have. I am vegetarian so I cannot attest to the meat dishes, but every single vegetarian dish I’ve had here is extremely delicious and satisfying. Thaibodia provides simple, yet delicious, food for a good price. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and they have plenty of parking available.

I don’t know how this place got more than one star. Ordered their tom yum… super salty, super… palette killing. Beef pad se ew… emphasis on the«ew». Essentially this was colored noodles with barely enough beef and not enough seasoning. I suppose we were supposed to dip the noodles into the tom yum for salt? I have no idea… panang curry came next… shit ton of onions like you will not believe. I think we just paid for at least two whole heads of onions — one in the pad se ew and another in the curry. The only thing that was ok was the«coconut» rice. Don’t know why they call it coconut rice if it doesn’t smell/taste like it — sure… Not worth it. Stay home and just order a pizza.

We went last night with the 2 kids, and it was crowded and bit chaotic — the restaurant looked like it was understaffed, so there were several parties waiting to be seated with no hostess. We love Thai/Malaysian food, so decided to try– Fresh salad rolls with shrimp Fried fish cakes Pad Thai with chicken for kids Malaysian Curry with shrimp Spicy Beef salad Unfortunately, all the dishes were off in one way or another. Salad roll sauce came to table with oil separated from sauce; not a good sign. Having had many a salad roll, this was a first with cabbage as filling, and barely any shrimp. The fish cakes were rubbery, and the spicy beef salad tasted like the beef was microwaved, then mixed together with spices. The Malaysian curry tasted like it was made from powder, and flavor was pretty much just one note. The Pad Thai took the longest to get to the table, and it was greasy and clumpy, with barely any chicken in the dish. We could not finish any of the dishes; needless to say, both hubby and I thought this was one of the worst Thai/Malaysian meals we’ve had in a long time. Maybe they were off that night, since other reviews are pretty positive. However, we won’t be going back.

Thaibodia has a variety of Thai and Cambodian foods. The restaurant has plenty of parking in its private lot. The food overall seemed good. I would like to come back and try more dishes to get a better idea but I was pleased with the food that I did try. Tom Yum soup: quite good of flavor, that bit of tanginess is present. The large portion is ample enough to feed two. Roti: the roti was more like scallion pancake but I thought it was good. The curry dip was a bit watery but the flavor was fine. Pineapple fried rice: comes in a pineapple. I thought the rice was a little too wet for my liking. I’ve had better fried rice elsewhere.

Good food, portion size varies. They’ll give you tons of rice but only so many noodles… meat is never enough. Service: If only the lady at the register would at least try to be friendly. They used to have a nice Asian lady, not sure what happened to her.

I am ALWAYS on the look out for any Thai restaurant that has Chan Pad Poo(Spicy Crab Pad Thai) on their menu! I was craving this dish and did a search for any in the Bay area. Was super excited to learn about Thaibodia and I was not disappointed. It was delicious. In fact I’m going there to pick up dinner tonight! The Pad thai sauce was the brown kind which I prefer versus the red one. We also tried the Crab fried rice which was also pretty good. Will definitely be returning regularly.

After a nice bike ride along Canada rd, along Crystal Springs, we hungered for something good. Everyone ordered curry; I had the pumpkin yellow curry with chicken-mild; it was pretty good. Tender chicken, yellow curry flavor and a good amount of pumpkin, sliced bell pepper and other veggies. $ 12.95 Tip: this is only slightly spicy; next time, I would get the spicier red curry. and an order of brown rice, $ 2.35; which was nutty, tender and yummy. Water: tasted fine, I did have to ask for a refill. Wine: the house red wine had a slightly astringent scent, but only $ 6.00, not recommended. Décor: nice place to chill out with friends and upscale. And low key quiet. Music: cool ambient music Bathrooms: clean and upscale. Customer service: fine. Parking: ez My friends said this place is decent; i would agree: A-OK.

Thaibodia is a lovely variety of Thailand and Cambodian cuisine making their menu quite extensive. The inside of this place adheres to the appropriate theme with elephant figurines’ trunks up adorning the center divide and various Thai/Cambodian motifs throughout. They snazzed up the architecture on the ceiling too with dark, organic greens, oranges and reds. –love the artistic touch for a nice dining atmosphere! Thus far, my favorites are the papaya salad with prawns(shrimp cocktail style) and the larb salads. I’m not too hot on the fish cakes– a bit tough rather than soft and pliable. The fresh spring rolls are ginormous healthy goodness rolled up in rice paper with a coconut peanut sauce to dip. If you want to turn up the heat, they’ll give you a trio of heat: thai garlic chili sauce, dry peppers and my favorite– sliced up serrano peppers in vinegar sauce The only thing that could use improvement is the service. It’s friendly, and someone’s attention is easy to catch if they’re up front. However, unless a server is standing around, the amiable lady doesn’t come around often enough. It’s a hit or miss. I can’t get enough of this food though.

I live across the street from this place and can’t get enough. They have all the classics, but definitely add their own twist! example: The yellow curry is delicious, but the potatoes have a new spice on them that I haven’t tasted before. They offer many options, I have tried the yellow curry, green curry, garlic chicken, and fried rice and all superb. I will definitely be a frequent visitor!

Came here because we wanted Thai food for lunch… haven’t been in awhile and have to say it’s still as good as it was before! Although, they no longer have the lunch specials, the items from their regular menu was good and priced just right, especially for the amount of food you get! And, have to admit, love that they have plenty of parking. In addition to the traditional Thai green curry dish, we decided to try one of the cambodia dishes. We had the Salaw Machou Kreoung: Cambodian stew with celery, green beans, tomatoes, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and ma-om. The chicken in the stew was very moist and the spices made it very tasty. Both dishes were delicious and we will definitely come back again to try the other Cambodian dishes.

Swung by here for a quick lunch before going back to the endodontist. This has been quite the expensive dentist year for our family. This place was a block away. Having grown up in Northern California and liking all types of food, I’m surprised I’ve never had Cambodian before. I heard once that Cambodian restos were slow to get established in the U.S. because there is no tradition of eating out in Cambodia. I have no idea if this is really true. Anyway, I liked it well enough. I was surprised there were no lunch specials, rice plates or some such thing, since most other SE Asian places have them, and if you want rice, you need to order it a la carte. I got: Trob Char Kreoung Lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves stir fried with eggplant, green onions, yellow onions and cilantro with Chicken The seasoning was similar to Thai, but ratios seemed different, with less sour and more salty than I would have expected. The eggplant was succulent, aIthough I didn’t detect any cilantro, but rather basil, which added a lovely floral note to the prominent salt-pepper flavoring. I’d like to try some other Cambodian food so as to have a better prospective. Don’t know if I’d make a special trip back here, but definitely would like to get to know this cuisine better.

We love Thai food. We consider ourselves connoisseurs of the Chicken Pad Thai. Yummmmm. And they definitely get it right here! Thanks, Thaibodia for getting it right. — and for confusing my daughter about the name of the combined countries that you profess!
