I’ve been going to this place since I was a kid. It’s the fancy in any way, but they have the best food I’ve ever had! It’s a total hole in the wall, but so worth it for a good meal. I try to stop by this place whenever I’m in the area. They’re menu is pretty simple and straightforward. No matter what you order, you can’t go wrong. Some of my favorites are the tacos, burritos, and quesadilla.

My mom wanted to get something for takeout so we thought of driving by this place to grab some food. My mom ordered some tacos and burritos for herself and my dad, while my sister and I had the quesadilla and the super burrito. As we waited, we sat on the tables and noticed how the employers don’t really check and clean the tables as some tables had lettuce shreds and a noticeable amount of crumbs on the table which wasn’t the best. My mom and I couldn’t find any napkins to clean the table up so we did our best to avoid the crumbs. When it was ready, my mom noticed that they gave out like a teaspoon of sour cream on this tiny container for this big quesadilla to which my mom asked if she could get more. The lady said it’ll be 50 cents extra with showing the same tiny container. If we were dining in, I’m sure they would’ve put in a lot more than that one teaspoon worth of sour cream, which I felt it was a little unfair. We passed on the extra sour cream and left home. The burrito itself though was really good! It definitely has flavor to it and I was pretty full once I had finished it. I tried some of my sister’s quesadilla as well and it was really good too! There was this light crunch to it and the cheese and chicken worked well together. Overall, this place is alright. They have good food here and I would come back to get some. However, from this experience, I would order to go and be sure to have some sour cream in your refrigerator if you like sour cream or any other sides because they will give you a small amount.

i have been coming to this taqueria for about 20 years and lately the cashiers have been very rude. When they see us coming in they laugh. They hate when we ask for extra sauce Or extra carrots. For anything they want to charge extra. I really like the food that is why I continue to come back.

Tacos el Grullense E & E looks like an old Taco Bell albeit with a small parking lot and a few tables for eat-ins. menu: tortas, tacos(1.35), burritos(4.75), quesadilla, sopes, aqua fresca, mex. chocolate, that’s it. eats: lengua burrito(4.75) –small size but filling, not much sauce, spiced by onions & jalepenos. burrito spicier than the usual –ingredients fresh, –food came out in 5 minutes… –no salsa bar frijoles refritos: –parking lot holds just 10 cars –line to order is informal. patrons who ordered already tell u they have. never want to go to counter first, may accidentally cut in i use caution in lining up *people usually cool, so it all works out… –cheap pricing, portions smaller too.

This is a d*mn good taco. Lots of flavor, a lot of punch. Crispy fried meat, delicious salsa(especially the hot one). We got the carnitas, pastor, asada — and they were all great. It’s not the cleanest places to eat, indoors is really stuffy and the outdoor seating is really dirty(gives me the willys just thinking about it). But REALLYREALLYREALLY good.

Dropped in because we were in the area and what a nice surprise! We all had chicken tacos. They’re street taco size with not much else inside, but the meat has so much flavor you don’t need anything else. We’ll be back!

Fancy taco place, this is not. There is basically no décor and it feels dingy but you can get cheap tacos here. Surprisingly this place is actually not cash only but there is a low credit card minimum. The tacos are very oily. The hot sauce they use is also extremely spicy. I didn’t get much of it but my mouth was on fire by the end of it. I thought it was okay but due to the extreme oil it actually made my stomach hurt quite a bit for the rest of the day. The shredded pork was good but a tiny bit dry I suppose. I thought the chicken wasn’t bad either.

Extremely greasy. With that out of the way, there are a ton of positives: great seating(indoor and outdoor), outstanding prices(two people ate for $ 10), good location, and excellent flavors. Not a healthy choice, and not the best-in-world taste, but good tacos at very good prices. Cash only. Not to be confused with the much larger tacqueria a couple blocks down.

The 4 stars Only for the quality of the food. It’s delicious and authentic! But my pet peeve is the cashiers could at least be friendly or say thank you or have a good day. At least a smile!

I am not fond of people handling money and food simultaneously. I went here to order 3 tacos with everything and cheese and they only gave me chicken and absolutely nothing else on it. If the young lady at the register wasn’t on her phone browsing Facebook the whole time, maybe she would have gotten my order correct. When I asked them to fix it the two women had an attitude about it and were not very empathetic.

My usual 3 tacos: asada, pastor and lengua. The meats are tender and the little tortillas are soft. Out of the three tacos, the lengua is my favorite. Squeeze some lime juice over the tacos and enjoy! Tacos are only $ 1.25 each plus tax. This is a great taco place if you are in Redwood City or if you live there, but not sure if it’s worth the trip from out of town. There is booth seating but I usually just get it to go. They put all the tacos on a paper plate like they would if you were eating in, but they wrap the plate with aluminum foil.

simple and delicious. My fav… carne asada tacos. everything. spicy. The chicken are good too, if that’s your thing. Normally I eat two tacos but here… I can eat four. Not because they are small but because they are hella good! And…the price is right. I crave you!

Average They were out of chicken so I had to settle for the beef tacos and my go couldn’t get the chicken tamales that she wanted. I have been told that California tacos are the best but this probably wasn’t the place to start at serviclable. Clean. Didn’t throw up.

Ah, Tacos El Grullense! This is our fifth year since we discovered your excellent restaurant. I know there are a few in Redwood a City, and we have tried them too. All are good, but this location is our favorite. The food is consistently good, super affordable, very fast, and a nice simple menu. We’ll be back many times over the next three weeks, while our circus is in town.

The menu choices are limited, however, they do offer a lot of meat choices. I had one asada taco. I do think that if I was in the area I would try someplace else. Not because the food wasn’t okay it was, but it was an average taco. I did not want to have another one.

We were going to an art show nearby and wanted to grab something first. Unilocal brought me here and I thank you. Simple menu which is the way to go. You order your food, take a seat and wait for your order. I got the quesadilla, I think I got carnitas. It was okay. The star is their tacos. I took a bite(ok more than a bite) from my husband’s and Mmmmm so good. It’s what I’m used to. The greasiness and flavor was yummmm. I was pretty surprised to have a good taco spot in this area. Definitely come here if you’re around the area!

Whoa nelly!!! Man can they make a mean carne asada chimichanga!!! I did not expect the chimichanga to come with beans and rice on the side, so, for 8.00 bucks, you get more than just the burrito. A salsa bar on the side with fresh salsa and on top of the beans and rice, chips are included!!! Mucho food, mucho grande deep fried burrito… could not finish it, and I eat a lot! I was so hungry for lunch/dinner, I did not eat anything else that day. A fourth of burrito was saved for lunch the next day. Clean place, nice servers, delicious food. No compliant here!
