This is a review purely for a box lunch I received at a conference, yes I had to review the vendor because it was that scrumptious! First of all, I’ve never been to the café in person, or heard of it before this event. We were given choices of roast beef, veggie, and turkey– I chose veggie. The sandwich was delicious and inside the box were a few surprises. A few condiments, a fork and knife, an apple, a bag of chips, and the most delicious cookie I’ve eaten in a while. All in all, if I hold a conference in the future and they ask for sandwiches, I know where I’m ordering from! If you stop in the café(as I was told by a fellow colleague) the cookies are fresh and worth every penny!

So, for the second time I received under-cooked baked goods. First time was when they just opened and a cookie. Today it was a cranberry scone that I was looking forward to for breakfast. It was all gooey and cold inside, horrible! Otherwise it is just ok, sandwiches are good if high in calories, salads are boring. There are better places, but if you work at the seaport center then it’s convenient. They just need to learn how to cook things through

I’ve ordered online to pick up & have gone in with my toddler in the mornings. Staff is friendly, they made sure they didn’t completly steam my daugthers hot chocolate so she could drink it right away.

other than being rediculously hard to find, I’m glad there’s a specialtys now in the redwood city area. NOTE — it’s in redwood shores on the left when you turn into the main street. If you’re using google maps. they will notoriously point you in the wrong direction smh. got the usual — turkey pesto w/o mayo or muenster. order ahead of time so you don’t have to wait(it does take a while during the lunch rush).

The new Specialty’s in RWC has been open for approx. 1 month. They have this great feature where you can order food on line and they will have it ready for pick up at whatever time you want. I’ve used the feature twice and twice they have made my sandwiches wrong. Don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon. Maybe just stick to the yummy selection of pastries, cookies and coffees.

Ever need a caffeine boost in the afternoon? If so, DONOT go to Specialty’s in Redwood City. They were all out of coffee… at a coffee shop!!! Having tried them once before, and having enjoyed a decent muffin plus easy parking, I thought I would do well again. They have LOTS of choices of day old bakery items and quickly point out they are closing soon(the sign says open until 4:30) it was only 3:20! The place brews Peet’s coffee, but I guess not all day. You’ll need to get your coffee fix elsewhere.

Looks like there’s a new Specialty’s in the neighborhood! After just recently switching jobs(yay no more long commutes to SF), I’m so glad there’s a Specialty’s near my new office! There’s a patio right outside with about 15 seats for a beautiful sunny day. Friendly staff, awesome salads as always! And who could forget their cookies. =)
