Best Mexican food ever! I have tried many places, this is by far the best flavor ever, if you ever go to el DF, this is the flavor of food, you can try anything in their menu and you will not be disappointed, I went two days ago, they had run out of pambazos de Tinga(Chicken with chili chipotle flavor.) I asked instead for a pambazos with hongos and queso Oaxaca, It was amazing. We will follow them wherever the move along el Camino Real, currently Redwood City to San Carlos at all the places I have stopped people tell whom eve is at the cash register«we are looking for you.» I wish Redwood City will grant them a permit for a permanent place, this kind of food is hard to find. Keep up the flavor!

I thought a knew what a good taco tastes like, this taco truck has given me a new reason to get up in the morning: to taste everything on their menu; the cochinita de pibil, al pastor, lengua, suadero, the gordita de chicharron, and the platanos macho(dessert) are just amazing. I’m having the huaraches next time. Los carnalitos rule!

Pretty dang delicious. We had to call to find out where they were(across the street from the car wash right after 5th) but it was well worth it. We had… cemita poblana: thin sliced breaded fried steak, slightly tangy bbq sauce, loads of avocado in a crusty sandwich. Was a winner and large. and a chicharron gordita: the meat was a great mix of fatty meat and a little crunchy chewy skin, a nice spice, added avocado but could have used a little more. Need to go back and try the tacos and other meats like cabeza, but solid!

Luis & Alfredo are killing it @ Los Carnalitos, my Pambazo & Gordita con Chichacharron were on point. Their tacos are also amazing, the suadero & lengua are so tender, succulent and flavorful. You owe it to yourself to try what these boys are putting out there!

Los Carnalitos is a totally new experience for me. by reading the reviews, i know L.C. brings Mexico City cuisine to Redwood City. menu is mostly in spanish. pics of many entrees, some new to me. patrons ordering bags or 2 of food to go. eats: al pastor/lengua taco @2 –served with slice of cucumber and lime squeeze –al pastor spicy, not oily, meaty –lengua fresh, tender, not much, both on corn tortillas –served on plastic plates if «eat-in» –only 3 stools in front of food truck take outs: –literally didn’t see order window,(was at far left) had to ask amigo @pick up window. –takes time to prep orders –in auto parts parking lot, next to japanese eatery. –menu typical mexican plus the mexico city entrees(8+) –supermajority of patrons latin american.

This place is no ordinary taco truck. This place is a fresh take on many traditional dishes from Mexico City. I tried the platanos machos and they weren’t just the ordinary fried plaintains(which are already good), to my surprise they came with cookies, peaches, and sprinkles on top! I noticed when waiting for my food I saw the other orders and everything here looks good with a unique take on the traditional dish. I wish I hadn’t just had lunch before discovering this place but I’m so glad I stopped by for dessert!

Redwood City’s Los Carnalitos parks itself ABOVE every Mexican food truck I’ve ever tried because of their rare Mexico City menu that is as HIGHQUALITY as it is UNIQUE in these here Bay Area parts. My previous review faulted them for ‘mediocre’ tacos and burritos, but as they’ve continued to impress me again and again, I can’t take it anymore and I therefore must recategorize them as: * 5 S T A R S T R A N S C E N D E N T ! * * MEXICOCITYCOMESTOREDWOODCITY Los Carnalitos boldly offers cuisine specific to Mexico City that will likely be brand new to many of us non-Chilangos(‘Chilango’ means a native of Mexico City) … What the hell is a Huarache? A Panucho? Are the Gorditas like at Taco Bell? Food explorers, you will find the rare and delicious Chilango items they offer a Godsend that totally SETSTHEMAPART from other Mexican food trucks! * ##MUST-TRYCHILANGOCUISINE## : Gordita w/Chicharron — DABEST!!! Like a toasted pork panini – it’s their best seller. Fatty pork cuts from just below the skin, cotija cheese, and lettuce between 2 crispy corn-masa patties. Very good! : Quesadilla de Huitlacoche — DAVEGGIEBEST!!! Huitlacoche is a fungus that grows on corn — Crispy corn tortilla outside, lovely salt from the cotija cheese, deep, wet yum from the salsa, a little lettuce, and finishing with the earthy, mushroom-essence from the Huitlacoche — it’s flavor-magic! : Quesadilla Chicharron — ERMAHGERD! A piggy, spicy, soppy Mex-terpiece! Hot, wet, salsa, chopped lettuce, succulent pork, and crumbled cotija cheese inside a folded tender-crispy tortilla. : Torta w/steak, ham, & sausage — HUGE&WONDERFUL! Ask for the torta featured on the side of the truck – a meat lover’s delight! It tastes like a cross between an awesome hot dog and a steak sandwich. Bread texture is soft with a crisp crust. It’s even awesome cold! : Cemita Poblana — MEXTACY! Like a sweet & spicy bbq steak sandwich. Fried, breaded steak, smooth & delicate Oaxaca string cheese, mild-spice sun-dried red chilis, and just about an ENTIRE avocado sliced up! : Quesadilla con Tinga de Pollo — BOMB!!! My office agrees that this chicken marvel is a big WINNER. The spicy/tangy tomatillo salsa, the crisp and tender tortilla texture, the delicious cotija cheese, all combine beautifully with the chicken, so much so that you might need to hold in a hearty ‘HALLELUJA!!’, because who wants to spray food all over the place? : Huarache w/Nopales and Carne Asada — TASTY! Beef, cheese, and savory slices of cactus on a crispy-tender masa bed shaped like a slipper. Very tasty jalapeño salsa gives it extra character. : Alambres w/Al Pastor or Carne Asada — YUMMYANDSATISFYING! Kind of like Fajitas. Meat sauteed with bell peppers and cheese and eaten with warm corn tortillas — a winning feast! : Panucho — TASTY! It’s like a taco, but the tortilla is thicker and stuffed with beans like a papusa. The pork is cooked in kind of a sweet sauce and is topped with red onions and juicy tangerine wedges. The combo of meat and sweet almost tastes Asian! * BESTCABEZATACOEVER! This here taco finally compelled me to raise their star rating. Simply the most exquisite Taco de Cabeza that I’ve ever enjoyed — and only $ 2!!! Marbled beef HEAVEN. * VERYNICESTAFF Luis and his brother Alfredo, or Freddy, are super nice guys that will answer any questions and are quick with a good recommendation. The items served are all from their family’s recipes. I always get warm smiles from the other cooking staff as well. * FANCY-FANCYFOODTRUCK! They. Take. DEBIT/CREDIT! No need to bring cash – so far ahead of most other Mexican trucks. This brand new truck is painted with well designed graphics, and the workers look extra professional in all-black uniforms. For-here meals are served on pretty plastic plates, stools are laid out at the counter. Not sure if you can use the Napa Auto Parts bathroom or not. 1 M I N U S — BURRITOS: SOMEWHATMEDIOCRE The distribution of burrito fillings can be badly off balance(like all the rice or all the sour cream in 1 place). For now, I’d skip the burritos. … HOWEVER, I’m definitely on the look-out for improvements and will report back if things get better! B O N U S S T A R ! * PASSIONTOBETHEBEST Los Carnalitos’ passionate staff is even HUNGRIER than you are, placated only by ecstatically satisfied customers. They started off with a truck that’s a cut above the rest(Credit/Debit accepted), they differentiated by specializing in Chilango Cuisine(Woot!), improving weaknesses in their menu(My New Favorite Cabeza Taco Ever!!), and continuing to push the envelope by obtaining rare ingredients(Huitlacoche from Mexico). How lucky am I everyday that such a rare jewel is walking distance from my office?

Great first impression! Walked up to the truck to a bright greeting. I ordered four tacos: 2 Suadero, 1 cabeza and 1 cochinita pibil. Man, each bite was better than the rest. I never had suadero, but man, that was good. Next time, if they have some, I’ll try out their tripa(my favorite). I’m not sure if you can park in the Napa Auto lot, but I found plenty of street parking around the corner.

Hands down the best taco truck… EVER!!! There most recent location is on El Camino next to Napa Auto Parts. The food tastes straight from Mexico City. Those who know not all Mexican food is created equally, each region of the country has their own taste and style. The food is fresh with the right amount of pizzazz! I highly recommend calling your order ahead, which is a huge convenience –especially when they get busy(which is quite often). Didn’t order ahead don’t frett they get orders done quickly but trust me it’s worth the wait!

OMG! The best cabeza tacos ever! And the Quesadilla Chicharron is out of this world. The food is not your typical Mexican variety and the selection is quite interesting, items I’ve not heard of before. Their green salsa is muy sabor! My boyfriend and I make it a point to visit the truck on a weekly basis and we are fast becoming«regulars». If you’re in the neighborhood make it a point to stop and order a taco or other selection. You won’t be sorry! Definitely 5 stars!

For a while this truck moved around and was hard to find! As of 1÷14÷16, the truck is at 560 El Camino Real, Redwood City, in the parking lot of Napa Auto parts. I love how this truck doesn’t just have the typical tacos and burritos only. I am versed in Mexican food, but man, there were a several items that I had to Google to figure out what they were! Al Pastor — 5⁄5 —(BBQ Pork) Shaved from a spindle with pineapple, I feel like their al pastor really shines. It is flavorful and moist without being oily, like how most places are. Tacos — 3⁄5 — $ 2 each — While I love the al pastor here, I feel like the tacos are the most basic thing you can order on this truck. Served on corn tortillas, they just tasted typical. Huaraches — 4⁄5 — $ 7 — This is a long flatbread looking item, with its base made of corn and a very thin amount of beans in the middle of it. I suspect that they have some beans and wrap it with masa. Then they roll it out flat and thin so the beans are between the masa. It is grilled and then topped with meat(I picked al pastor) and topped with cheese, and cactus. In the picture it doesn’t look very big, but it actually filled the whole to-go container. It is not super crispy. It was like the flatbread/pizza of Mexican food. Gorditas — 5⁄5 — $ 5 — I love this! It is made like a round crispy deep-fried corn pocket of meat(I picked al pastor, see a trend?), hot sauce and cheese. The flavor is great and I love the crispiness of the gordita outside. Note — one end can get a bit soggy if you wait too long to eat it. Alambres — 4⁄5 — $ 10 — A whole lot of meat, served with bell peppers and tortillas on the side, so you can make your own tacos. Standard includes carne asada, chorizo and ham together. They are able to substitute carne asada with al pastor(surprise, surprise!). It comes with a spicy green sauce on the side. There are more items that I have try, so I really wish the truck would define the item better so I didn’t have to Google it or ask a lot of questions each time. Beware: While the food is well worth it, it does take time for them to make it(~10 mins). I would call ahead if you are in a rush, though sometimes it is hard to understand if you have questions about your order. Oddly the person who answers the phone isn’t the same one who takes the orders at the truck.
