The service here is horrible!!! The cashier, Lorena, was really rude!!! I ordered four tacos and it took them more than 45 minutes to get them out! I went to ask them like 3 times if they were ready and«Lorena» told me to wait in a really rude way. When she put my order out I noticed she was touching her face, especially her nose. I didn’t eat them anymore. My other 3 friends who were with me experienced the same thing. I’m not gonna lie, their food is excellent, but the service is horrible. Worst I’ve experienced! I do not recommend this place to anyone!!!

Best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. Large, spicy pieces of chorizo cooked with a medley of onions and spices. Evenly distributed throughout the burrito were eggs, chorizo, salsa, rice, and beans. As I walked in they were searing piles of Chile on the grill top. This is a great process that I have not seen done by any other taqueria. This gave the grill a great seasoning for the filling of my burrito. I had a great breakfast. If their day menu tastes like this I will definitely make this a regular spot.

I ordered three chicken tacos. My stomach started bubbling during the second taco. Shortly after I was on the toilet, 3 times in 30 minutes. No bueno.

Very good authentic Mexican food and prices are very reasonable. The minimum charge for credit card is $ 6, but 95% of time they only take cash$$.

I’ve grown up in redwood city. And would say hands down to this taco spot. Every time am in town I must come here. Out of all the grullenses around this one is the best to me.

Super spicy red salsa I couldn’t finish the tacos here because it was so spicy. The meat was flavorful without the salsa. Chips and salsa, but no salsa bar. This place seems to be popular among a lot of people in the area. Beware, might be easy to park your car on the street. A ton of people are pulling in and out of this parking lot.

This is my the joint my hubby and I hit up when we feel lazy and are craving Mexican comfort food. For some reason it’s a tad bit less expensive than the other handful of El Grullenses in the area, definitely cleaner too! I love to order the super burrito con carne asada, extra sour cream with the hot sauce on the side and guess what?! They actually serve my order super burrito con carne asada, extra sour cream with hot sauce on the side. For me that is a big deal bc any other Grullense or restaurant a like always get it wrong. I also appreciate their menu selections being simple making the food better quality. It has been and will continue to be my to go to «feeling-lazy-craving-Mexican-comfort-food» joint :)

I came here tonight for the first time, and it’s a great place for cheap eats. My boyfriend and I ordered 4 tacos and a quesadilla, and I think our bill came up to around $ 11. I tried the al pastor, carnitas, and asada, which were all nicely marinated and tasty. The salsa on top was a little spicy, but it added a welcome kick to the food. Carne Asada Quesadilla(3⁄5) — The fillings were great, but there was wayy too much tortilla for me. Tacos(3.5÷5) — Satisfying, but standard Note: They have a credit card machine($ 10 minimum), but they said it was broken… I have a feeling that the machine is «always broken» considering there is an ATM in the restaurant

Can’t understand why there’s a billion of these places in Redwood City. Two are within a quarter mile of each other on El Camino??? Anyway, I came here to talk about THIS El Grullense. Came here with co workers and one orders the tacos and the other a burrito. As for me, I ordered chicken burrito with Jamaica drink. The burrito was a good size, the chicken was crispy and really good. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the fact that the burrito was dry. I was lucky to have my drink because I would of died of thirst, but the burrito needs to have green/red sauce, guac, or sour cream or pico de gallo at least. I did not see a salsa bar. I was a bit disappointed with that. Service was great, no problem with that. Parking can be crazy here, but that’s not their fault. The burrito can be better if some sort of salsa was added to make it not so dry. Keep the meat fresh and crispy. That was the best part of the burrito. Prices are very cheap compared to other places. Overall: Good food, Great price, Great service.

Horrible service. Didn’t even make it through ordering my food. I ordered a few tacos with no substitutions, just wanted to add a extra condiment. Couldn’t figure it out. The food looked ok, but nothing special. Prices are great for this area. Went down the street and paid a little more at a place called LAESTRELLITA, service alone was 5 stars. Got the carnitas plate here and it was great.

This review is for angeles(name on the receipt), every time I go in to this place there is a lady with a clown face(a lot of make up, blonde hair, and dark brown eyebrows) giving you an attitude and rolling her eyes. I don’t know if the manager doesn’t know or he just doesn’t care about the service the employees are providing the customers. She acts like she owns the place. On the other hand, the food is good and the chicken quesadilla is great, that’s the only reason I force myself to go back to this place. If you go there and she is at the register, dont expect to feel welcomed.

Really really good al pastor burritos. Don’t get the super tho it’s inexpensive at $ 5.35. Stick with the basic at $ 4.85(I think). The pork is cooked perfected with just enough crunchiness. And the flavor is delightful. The balance of beans and rice is perfect. I got it extra spicy but it was not at all overwhelming — delicious.

Tacos… Who doesn’t love tacos? And sopes! Especially the awesome tacos and sopes from El Grullense?! This place is not fancy, not decorated in any special way… Just a simple no-frills taqueria. It’s loud, there are kids running around, juke box jamming the corridos & banda with the occasional mariachi singing for you table side and can’t forget the guy standing outside selling lanyards and rosaries… And it’s just plain awesome! Despite the lack of parking, messy dining area and restrooms that really need to be cleaned, I love this place and always find any reason to drive over and get my taco-fest on. It’s that good! The menu is super basic and simple but that’s all you really need when the food is that good! Tacos are nice and doraditos, extremely fresh and tasty! Sopes are always on point too… Except sometimes they sell out of them(which is never a bad thing if you think about it). Their asada and carnitas are perfect every time. nice, delicious and tender. And their horchata is a must too! The hours here can be tricky… Sometimes they’re open, sometimes they’re not. I always call just to check because there have been quite a few times where I had gone and they’re closed. Heads up… The red salsa is HOTHOTHOT! Extremely delicious but very hot, so if you’re sensitive to heat maybe ask for it on the side. The green is spicy too but no where near the heat level of the red. Gotta love it though! Overall El Grullense has the best tacos and sopes outside SF or Oakland… Five stars no doubt. If you don’t know… Now you know. And now I want tacos!

To keep it short and sweet this is where you go to find real authentic Mexican tacos. Just really good home made food all around, the meats are marinated perfectly and the sopes are super fresh and delish! Living in Mexico for six months kind of made me a taco hor lol sorry. Only thing I wish is that they would hire a janitor or Someone to clean them restrooms… ASAP!

The only reason for the one star deduction is because of the lack of parking. Other than that, this place is perfect for authentic street tacos. The meat is fresh and so are all the toppings. We walked in today and they were hand cutting the carrots and peppers.(You know, the condiments they give.) We also go in for large orders(30 – 50 small tacos) and they make them and have them ready for us in less than 15 minutes. They do serve Coke products in bottles.(Yay!) the salsa is just the right amount of spicy! We celebrate Taco Tuesday here regularly! Nice find!

Hands down to the best Taco on Middlefield Road! I swear every week I’m here! What can I say, I’m addicted ;) The cook here makes the tacos SO good! Food is flavorful and leaves you wanting more. Right across the street from Costco! They have there own parking lot but be aware that it gets crowded. Lots of seating inside and of course the workers are always nice and friendly. You can’t go wrong eating here. Tacos are $ 1.35 and they are the . They also have a music box so you can play music while you eat :-) if you’re looking for a good taco spot this is definitely the place to come you won’t be disappointed and you’ll leave full and happy!

Viva Meh-hico! LOL, this is some really good Mexican food. You know it’s good when the menu is practically all in spanish and missing all the ingredients that you can choose from like hello… salsa. The lady told me they serve a vegetarian burritos, sold! It was hella good. I don’t eat meat, but am aware going into any authentic restaurant, that they may use lard. I just deal, for the sake of my addiction. I don’t know how the rest of you vegetarians scale your strictness? My fiancé ordered 2 chicken &2 al pastor tacos at $ 1.35 each. He said they were bomb. So to all you meat eaters out there, hit this place up. I want to try the arroz con leche next time, translation, rice pudding. It was eying me from behind the counter. ;^{) Warnings: Ca$h only, there is a semi long wait time, small parking lot.
