I started going here for dragon boat practice with Project Floaters this year. This place always seem to be busy with dragon boat, crew, and outrigger-canoers. There’s more than enough water for everyone though. The facility is pretty nice compared to some others that I’ve been to. The equipment seems to be in better conditions than other places in the bay *cough cough*(Lake Merced). The water is mostly calm and definitely a lot cleaner than other places. *cough cough*(Again Lake Merced). There are a bunch of weights and craptons of ERGs inside the facility. Upstairs is a locker room for both guys and another for the ladies. There is a lot of room for parking all along the street and to the side of the aquatic center. Overall 4⁄5. Great place to go paddle, but kinda tucked away in the heart of Redwood City.

I’ve been a BIAC rower(sweep and scull) for four years, 3 – 4 times a week. Great group of people, great coaches, great waters. Ergs for land workouts, plenty of free parking, easy launching for all manner of human-powered watercraft.

I don’t usually paddle here, but I would have to say that the facility is nicer than where I usually paddle, but that’s not saying too much. It has a nice atmosphere though, and parking is generally easy to find. Oh, and there are tons of ERGs inside, but I’m not too sure if you can use those on a regular basis.

Having paddled in Southern California and now NorCal, I have to say Bair Island’s facilities are above average. The water is way better than Long Beach’s, and they do a pretty good job of keeping the place tidy and clean.

Great facilities for a non-profit aquatic centre! I am a dragon boat paddler and am here 2 – 3 times a week. The facilities are used by various teams and individuals, ranging from elementary school kids to the seniors, Crew to Outrigger Canoe-rs. It does get busy around 6pm(when Mom Taxis arrive to pick up kids), and can get a little crazy with parking… but other than that, I love it. The Redwood City waterways are relatively clean. I know of other dragon boat teams who practice on waterways that are severely polluted and that is not the case here. We’ve seen seals during practice, not to mention the countless bird life. Even though training might be tough, and I may be tired after work… there hasn’t been an afternoon that I don’t look forward to coming here to get my water time!

I joined a dragon boat team and we practice here. There’s not much to it but they have everything we need except for a snack machine.
