Ten Thousand Villages is such a wonderful little store! I continue to be very surprised, seeing what products have been recycled from, eliminating waste in our environment. The employees have always been very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the merchandise. They will even print out a small card that describes the product… what it is made from, where it was made, and which village made it. It is the best gift shop in the South Bay! I could spend a VERY long there just looking at and falling in love with the merchandise. It’s a dangerous little shop… :-)

Great store for treating yourself or for gifts if you want to get a start. Lots of beautiful things. TTV will partner with local non-profits and donate 15% of sales. Being in this store makes me feel so good… Come taste their fair trade chocolate and dried fruit or have some coffee and listen to music and dream of all the women that can now send their children to school.

I feel great when I shop at 10,000 villages. And you might ask why? They are a fair trade and non-profit organization. They have a variety of gifts from kids games to Jewlery, it is so easy to find a gift for somebody’s dinner party or any other occasions. The prices are extremely reasonable. Most of the people that work there are volunteers, so they’re extremely helpful and professional and also knowledgeable. This is the best gift store in Southbay. And they do a great job wrapping your gift too. So what else can you ask for? Well I’ll tell you : also love their chocolate and coffee’s it’s best I have ever tried. The best part is that there is always coffee and chocolate to sample so you know what you’re getting. I love going to 10,000 villages. I will highly recommend this business. If you’re looking for a gift this is the place to go.

This is my go-to store for finding unique, meaningful and beautiful gifts both for friends and myself! I love to stop in and see what’s new. My current favorite item has to be the Hope Necklace. It’s made from recycled bullet casing from Ethiopian war… the color is neutral enough to wear with just about anything and can really dress up a simple jeans and tee shirt outfit. Then to know how it helps the women who make it me honored to wear it. I’ll be doing my holiday shopping there for sure.

LOVE! Fair Trade and filled with amazing treasures from all over the world. This place is a gem. The customer service is a amazing even though all workers are volunteers. I loved everything about this shop and had a tough time deciding on what to buy because I wanted everything. And I was super surprised to find out that every item comes with the story about the artisan. Highly recommended!

Fair Trade, non-profit, great and engaging customer service. This location is very new and such a delight. I love all of the volunteers here. You receive good information about the items origins and background. I bought a very pretty sterling silver ring from Peru with a jasper stone(less than $ 20) and a long chain necklace from Kenya. The volunteers make you feel welcome and remind you that your purchase is for a good cause. I absolutely love this shop. Also, my meter was running out and one of the volunteers offered for me to take a quarter– i thought that was really sweet of her! (watch out for very pretty home décor items… IE: woven baskets, textiles, ceramics) A+

This beautiful non-profit, fair trade shop has been open for just 2 weeks in Redondo’s Riviera Village. Their mission is to «create opportunities for artisans in developing countries.». A worthy cause, indeed. I was told that 70% of the artisans represented in the shop are women, from some 40 countries. And all the staff members are volunteers except for the manager. I could have spent the entire day in this store, there was so much to see. Every product has a story… like the exquisite necklace made from bullet casings, perhaps the only material available for the artisan to work with, in that part of the world. And the other necklace that caught my eye, of rainforest tagua, from Ecuador. On the label it was explained that, as tagua becomes more popular its value increases, discouraging deforestation. That’s a big deal. In addition to jewelry I saw soaps, wall art, sculptures, baskets, home furnishings… even lamps. And cards — of course I bought one. The story behind my $ 5 card: It’s from the Philippines, with a center created of delicate dried flowers. The card’s paper is made from cogon grass, which is a weed that interferes with local farming. Did I mention that the artisans actually grow the flowers(to be dried) in their own gardens? I got all that for 5 bucks. Obviously, prices at this shop are very reasonable. I’m thinking that I may have found a whole new way to shop, especially for any gifts I need. Because if this isn’t guilt-free shopping, I don’t know what is…
