I need to update my rating. I still love my salads here. However, this was my 2nd visit here, and the service was not the same. I got the eye roll and the food slapped around when I asked for my rice to be at the bottom of my salad. Really? Is it that big of a deal? This bad attitude ruined it for me by the time I got to the cashier. After talking to DH, he mentioned the same, so I’m not being persnickety. Which is why DH still prefers Chipotle. He says the al pastor here is fatty, and the carnitas is tough. Since I don’t choose these ingredients in my salad, I didn’t notice. Needless to say, I’ll be coming here on my own. Plus, I signed up for my Ocho frequent buyers card where you earn a free drink, etc, for each visit, but it was forgotten and when we inquired about it, the cashier reluctantly gave it to me as if I was a demanding customer asking for something for free. Ridiculous. Oh well. I hope this is just new business kinks that will eventually work themselves out.

Big fan of the Ocho. First try and they really knocked it of the park. Good customer service, they let us try everything, answered all questions, were totally patient, and threw in some chips for us to try too… couldn’t say enough about this place. The shredded beef and shredded chicken are awesome, and the amount of meat in the burrito I got was insane(probably 3x the meat as Chipotle, for less mind you!). I got a wheat wrap, half shredded chicken and half shredded beef, brown rice, fajita veggies, pico, avocado, tomatillo salsa, lettuce, and jalapeño burrito… it was about 4 pounds for $ 8.50 — ANDNOUPCHARGES… they DONOTNICKELANDDIMETHEIRCUSTOMERS. My lady got a burrito bowl with everything I got except the spicy parts. — Plenty of parking in the Whole Foods(Redondo) Shopping Plaza — Super nice staff — Cheaper Prices than Chipotle and larger portions — More healthy options and never anything GMO(which is NICE) — Seating area is not huge inside, but there’s «patio» tables too I cannot wait to go back! ENJOY!

We ordered three build your own burritos from Eat 24. I love that it’s super customizable. We ordered two with mahi mahi and one with tofu. All were outstanding! Definitely our new favorite burrito spot! The delivery was fast and friendly. We will definitely order again and often.

Fresh. Fast. Easy. Oh and the variety of food here is amazing. Reminds me of a little bit of Miami. Love the vegetarian options as well.

Super friendly staff and management! I walked in and told them it was my first time there, they said I was welcome to sample anything from their food bar. They will literally make any burrito or taco or whatever you order however you want it for no extra charge– chicken and beef in one burrito? 3 sauces? Doesn’t matter. Super awesome to be able to customize your order like that. And the choices are great– jicama and mango salsa? Delicious!

Tried this place out for the first time tonight when I was looking for a healthier delivery option than pizza. One thing I can agree on with the negative reviews: my food was COLD upon their 20 minute late arrival. That was the only negative thing I have to say about my experience with Ocho though. The pulled chicken bowl and chicken taquitos were great! I’ve always liked the idea of Chiptole but have never liked their food. I was stoked with how great the food was here! And the portion I got was HUGE. So much for being healthy — I ate the entire thing… and got sick to my stomach from being so stuffed! I’ll definitely eat here again, but since I love my food HOT, I will for sure do pick up next time!

The owners of this place did a great job with the ambiance, cleanliness and seating arrangement. Ocho Mex kind of reminds me of a high end chipotle. The menu is simple and to the point, and there are quite a few sauces and topping options that chipotle doesn’t have. I ordered the grilled steak tacos, and while I enjoyed the extra topping options, I did not enjoy the meat very much. It was overcooked and kind of chewy. The corn tortillas themselves were also not very good– served cold and they fell apart as soon as I picked up the taco to take a bite. For these two reasons I didn’t enjoy the meal as much as I could have. I’ll be giving this place another chance in the future, but right now, can’t give it better than 3 stars as the food just didn’t excite me.

Ocho was surprisingly good. Had a bowl with half chicken and half grilled tofu. It comes on a base of brown or white cilantro rice, just like that other burrito behemoth that dominates the burrito space, but the pinto beans at Ocho are vegan unlike the other guys. You walk through the line and build it just like said burrito behemoth, with the main difference being the salsa and vinaigrettes. Most were really very sweet. The agave one with chipotle was good, but very sweet. The habanero salsa was very hot and you could tell it had fresh habanero blended in, really tasty, but overpowers everything and leaves you unable to taste anything. My bad. Everything looked pretty fresh, I thought it was better than Chipotle over all.

Fresh, made-to-order food. Plenty of protein options(beef/chicken/carnitas/tofu/shrimp/fish). Good variety of salsas and sauces too. The pickled cabbage and jicama/mango blend are both tasty add-ons(free). A tad pricier than Chipotle but not even by $ 1. You can order off their menu or make your own burrito/bowl/salad/wrap/tacos! Their Tuesday deal is a chicken or pork chimichanga for $ 5. You only need to order one as it is the size of a normal burrito. They give a nice chunk of avocado on the side too.

Ocho is what Chipotle is trying to be. Or, maybe they aren’t even trying. This is one of those places where if you don’t like what you ordered, it’s your fault. You made it. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and comes in very reasonable portions. You can do burritos, bowls, tacos, whatever you fancy. They have organic brown rice, jica-mango slaw, pickled cabbage, all these fun things that you just have to keep piling on… They usually have a few agua frescas to choose from, so ask to try them. All the ones I’ve had have been pretty delicious. The staff is super friendly, and I haven’t had a poorly built meal yet. They even deliver through Eat24! We’ve even used them for catering at work. They started doing breakfast burritos, and I’m kicking myself that I haven’t tried one yet.

Even after reading some of the reviews, I was a little surprised Ocho Mexican Grill was in a shopping center and looked like a Chipotle. With that being said, I still really enjoyed my food. Sometimes a fast food setup isn’t a bad thing, especially if the food is quality. It’s also kind of fun. There are guidelines of what you an order but you can essentially go down the line and make your dish. According to their website, there are over 800 combos you can make. Maybe that’s where part of the Ocho comes from? In any case, I had a good time with it. To be honest, I don’t even remember exactly what I loaded my burrito bowl up with. What I can tell you was that it hit the spot and I enjoyed myself. They were also pretty generous with the guacamole. I believe they have three locations at the time of this review. If they expand, I hope they keep up the good work and quality.

Yum. Husband was tired of Chipotle(which was my suggestion) so I suggested this place as we drove by, not knowing it was a similar concept. Food was MUCH better though, very flavorful. TCB bowl, carnitas tacos, and a kid’s steak quesadilla — all demolished. Aaaand they were playing Jimi Hendrix. We’ll be back.

I’ve been here a few times for dinner and the food is pretty good. Nothing really stands out, and the flavors can use more seasoning. However, I’ve recently been going for breakfast on weekends… and today I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito. Freaking delicious. Amazing. Perfectly flavored meat, eggs, and gooey cheese. This is my new favorite breakfast spot and I will always be getting the chorizo. Highly recommended.

Love this place! They do all the things right that Chipotle does wrong. They offer seafood options, specifically wild mahi mahi and shrimp! They have several salsa options which are all natural, no heavy salt like Chipotle. Their veggies are sautéed properly. Both the black bean and pinto are vegetarian friendly. Everything is full of flavor and I love that they have sauces you can add to change things up. It’s a good amount of food for the price and I just wish there was one closer to where I live. Kudos to the owners for coming up with a great, healthy menu with lots of options for everyone!

Ocho Mexican Grill is the new-ish addition to the Whole Food Shopping Center, next to Rita’s. It is the Chipotle concept but with far better quality ingredients, no nickel and diming up-charges, and much better service. The little eatery is not large — there are two 4-tops that are regular height(FYI: there are 2 highchairs), three counter height 2-tops and a communal table. There is also dining on the patio in front(about four 4-tops), but it was a rainy day so tat was not an option. The butcher block tables, orange chairs and stainless barstools give the pace a clean but happy look. You order at the building bar by starting with your choice of burrito, wrap, plate, salad, or tacos and then you pick your protein, fillers, toppings, salsa and salsas(they also have appetizers and snacks on the menu). DH went with the burrito with shredded beef($ 8.50) with brown rice, black beans, fajita veggies(basically caramelized onions), the corn-squash sauté, Ranchero sauce, diced onions and cilantro. Yummy! The tortilla is slightly warmed so it is soft and tender, the beef in pretty lean and super tender with a great blend of seasoning. The black beans and brown rice are the most interesting(better than the white rice and the pinto beans), and the veggies are perfectly cooked. The Ranchero sauce really seals the deal — really creamy with a hint of chipotle. I ordered the salad with shredded chicken($ 8.25 — pricing is based on protein). I started with the Romaine salad base(personally I skipped the rice and beans) with a load of well-seasoned and super tender shredded chicken that was largely white meat. Then, I added fajita veggies, the corn-squash mixture, the picked cabbage(absolutely my favorite topping — the red stuff is sooo good), tomatillo salsa(which is very mild), onions, and cilantro. It was delicious. The kids’ menu offers a choice of a plate, quesadillas or burrito with a side of rice and beans and a juice box for $ 5.99. We got quesadillas for the LO, which were two 9″ tortillas with your choice of protein(grilled chicken here) and cheese. They were perfect for her, and she devoured them. She also loved the white rice, and we ate her pinto beans. The best thing about Ocho is the AMAZING service. Seriously, Cameron was super knowledgeable about the product and even helped us get our tray to our table(two parents and two LOs can use some help sometimes). He also brought around samples of their beverages — the horchata(a little too sweet and not enough cinnamon for me) and the rosemary-cucumber-lemon agua fresca(awesome sweet and sour beverage with a little woodsy flair that was perfectly balanced). $ 24.74 for two adults and one child for a filling and fairly healthy dinner in a clean restaurant with lots of options and great service. That’s as good as it gets folks. It’s not gourmet, but it is fab fast food.

Insane, just loco, I tell you! This place is like Chipotle with its scoopable customizable fare, but better with more options, all healthy and flavorful, and all for dirt cheap with the best customer service in the history of fast food. Even though this is a fast food joint, I had the most amazing customer service on my visit last night. It was my first time at an Ocho and I was undecided on which protein to get. The young woman behind the counter offered to let me sample their meats and vegan tofu before I decided on one. She was also incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food there. When I was confused by all the sauces they offer, she had pairings to suggest based on the kind of meat I chose. They should promote her to management! This place claims there are 800 different ways to enjoy Ocho, mixing up the different toppings(pickled cabbage, pico de gallo, lettuce, etc), fillers(brown rice, two types of beans, etc), sauces and meats… and I believe it. There aim is healthy Mexican — they even have thin whole wheat tortillas and beans prepared without lard. The sauces are all delicious. I loved the ranchero, and also the chipotle, and the herbal vin. I got two bowls — the surf and turf with steak and shrimp and another with grilled mahi. The mahi was dry, and I wouldn’t recommend it, but the other meats were great. All in all, a hearty, healthy dinner for $ 8-$ 9. I even had plenty of leftovers. Tip: There’s currently a buy-one-get-one-free coupon in the local mailer if you live in the area, which is how I found out about this place.
