I came here today to get some fruit and the strawberries were moldy, soft, and disgusting. I know they are having a lot of corporate problems but this is not the way to complain. The isles are bare, but I really didn’t think the employees would stoop to such a low level. Or they just have really bad produce.

It was a shame this Albertson’s closed. It was a big, bright and clean store with a spacious parking lot on PCH, a great stop before you continued south to PV. Then it turned into a Haggen, an overpriced gourmet wannabe. This Haggen location will be closing November 2015. Haggen will be closing all of its stores as part of their bankruptcy proceedings. What a sore Thanksgiving for the ex-Albertson’s employees. Today, shelves were starting to empty. The bakery stopped making their highly addictive cinnamon rolls. :(((Large signs in the store front and throughout the store advertised 10−40% off. Yet no one was here. Cause 40% off ridiculously expensive is still expensive. I could get the same exact Pampers diapers at Von’s for less. I just hope something comes to fill this void. Whatever it is.

Shopped there… it really made me miss the Albertson’s that used to be at that location :(

If I could give zero stars I would. I used to shop here, but never again. In advance of the store closing they have stopped stocking their shelves of many items. What a sad waste of money and more sad for the employees. Just close and be done with it if you care so little about any remaining good will.

I like the organic produce. Unfortunately, that’s about the only positive thing I can say. They stopped carrying a lot of things I buy, and what they do carry is overpriced. I think their days are numbered. Maybe we’ll get a Fresh & Easy or a Sprouts instead. I think the neighborhood would better support those grocery stores. Update: apparently, Haggen has filed chapter 11 bankruptcy to reorganize. This store is not currently scheduled to close, but I don’t know how much longer they’ll survive.

Too expensive compared to other chain grocery stores. I used to shop here when it was Albertson’s. Recently I’ve stopped into various Haggen stores and find them empty of customers and the prices higher than competitive chains but under the level of quality you’d get at Whole Foods or Gelsons for the price. Went to this location tonight and picked up two navel oranges which cost me $ 3.00($ 1.50 per orange). This will conclude my shopping with Haggen.

This new Haggens, replacing my Albertsons two blocks from home, will not be where I shop anymore. Their flyers have nothing on them that I buy. Albertsons always did have them. Too bad… so sad. I am off right now to Ralph’s, two miles farther. Whole foods will get a visit by me on the way. Big disappointment, but things change. Too bad Haggens doesn’t want to though.

All I can say is … Ugh! One star for their logo being appealing. This store is way over priced and for nothing special. For people who get off on over paying, there is Whole Foods. Isn’t that enough? I want Albertson’s back!

Meh. Two stars for the friendly staff that are still there from Albertsons. Unfortunately I am not impressed with the Haggen’s brand or price point. Eggs, meat and dairy are all significantly higher than several other area stores. It’s a shame really, because I really do like a lot of their employees and I would see them on a regular basis. This place truly was a great little neighborhood store when it was Albertsons’s. However shopping here for a large family? Forget it. I’ll stop in for a few things I may have missed during the week and to say hi, that’s about it. Haggen’s should’ve stayed where ever they’re originally from. Oh and there’s no pharmacy here lest you believe the business title for this location.

So far, I don’t like the Haggen chain, for reasons mentioned in my review of the other Redondo location. I wonder if, when they bought out Albertsons, the buyout may have included the existing store inventory. With this theory in mind, I stopped in today to stock up on EcoSmart bug spray(works great on ants & also keeps the neighborhood skunk away from my back yard). Can’t remember what I paid for the stuff at Albertsons, so don’t know if Haggen raised the price. But figured I’d better get it now just in case it won’t be there in the future. I also picked up some Fancy Feast Appetizers for my cat(1.49 each at Haggen &1.25 at Ralphs, today). I chose to pay more because the manufacturer changed the formula on the chicken flavor & my cat won’t eat the new product, but loves the previous one. Haggen had the old batch(aha) & I snapped up every one on the shelf. Damn picky cat. Here’s where I think Haggen went wrong, generally: I see no indication that they’re an «upscale» grocery. Which means they have, so far, over-promised & under-delivered. Not good for any business. The two Haggen locations I’ve visited look just like Albertsons but with higher prices. Although this store appears clean, it also looks more like a warehouse than a welcoming grocery. No colorful displays for the Fourth of July, for example. Some people like the uncluttered aisles but I’m not one of these people. I think the place looks bare and depressing, almost like no extra effort was made to brighten up the store for the holiday. I recognized a few former Albertsons employees, like the checker who didn’t ask if I wanted plastic or paper bags. Everything went into plastic while I was busy paying with my credit card. I asked if they had paper bags & was told, sure… & I could’ve had them if I’d asked. Would’ve been nice if she’d asked me. Here’s the good news: I did score one paper bag… and it had handles! I guess there’s one tiny indication of an upscale grocery, after all…

Great local place with good employees. The change was smooth from what I saw. Prices are ok.

It’s good to see a lot of familiar faces from Albertson’s still work here and at the other PCH Redondo store… Hopefully corporate will start matching the price point of the area. People make your shopping experience…

We come here because it is convenient, however, the prices are a little high. I can find many of the same items at Von’s for cheaper. But overall, clean, have a pretty good selection for groceries. I’ll be keeping tabs on their prices in the coming weeks…

I was told this would be more upscale and expensive than the Albertsons it replaced. I also heard it would be a store as if Whole Foods and Ralph’s had had a baby. Both true! The floral section doubled in size, much nicer selection, and the meat department expanded to offer choice cuts of meat and fish. Kobe style New York steak, lobster tail and king crab, as well as crab cakes and Ahi Poki are available. Produce is fresher as well. Gone however is the 30% off six bottles of wine, now offered is 10% off 4. As nice as it is, I will be switching over to Ralph’s as my main store. I already spend a small fortune on groceries as it is!

I came here to buy a loaf of French bread, which should be easy enough, right? Well, the bread offerings were awful. The baguettes were all stale, hard and misshapen and the rolls weren’t much better. I didn’t want to go anywhere else, so I picked up a French bread baguette and decided to take the risk. While checking out, a man in front of me asked to talk to the manager. Imagine my surprised when he proceeded to let the manager know that the bread sold in the store was lousy and that he could bake better bread himself! Later that evening, when we cut into the stale bread, which had random widths along it’s length ranging from 3″ to 10″(!), we found it tasteless and mushy/undercooked in the middle. If a store can’t get it’s bread right, it won’t get my business.

Been shopping here forever when it was Albertsons. Great new options at this Haggens. Love the new variety of the meat counter. Huge improvement on fresh seafood options and organic produce. Glad to see they didn’t completely revamp the layout as I’m comfortable and familiar with it. Tried a few things from the deli– a tad salty in my humble opinion. Overall it’s a nice improvement and update.

New market in the neighborhood. Took over the site where Albertsons used to be. Fresh and cool look! Great addition to the area.
