The next two times that I went, the buffet wasn’t as consistent. I think this place is ok, if you have a craving for indian food in general.

Finally got a chance to check out their new location. Looks like they moved into the space formerly occupied by an excellent Peruvian restaurant named Si Señor, which later became a mediocre Mexican restaurant. The décor still looks like a Mexican restaurant, but with Indian touches. It’s nice enough. This isn’t some 5 star restaurant, I’m not too picky about the décor. The new space is larger than the old restaurant, but the tables in the middle are pretty close together. The buffet seems to be a little bigger than the old restaurant, but now people don’t seem to know which direction they are supposed to go, can get a little confusing. Sadly they’ve gotten rid of those metal trays. I loved those. The food is just as good as ever, and the service is just as inattentive and unfriendly as ever, perhaps more so since the servers now have more tables to cover. Don’t come here expecting 5 star service with a smile, you’ll leave exasperated. But the food is good and reasonably priced, especially the buffet. Only complaint about the food is it’s not hot enough. All the dishes are now lukewarm, at the old location they were kept piping hot. The lukewarm temperature mars the taste of the food somewhat.

I ate here for the first time tonight and absolutely loved it. The service was great and Sawmi went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed the food and had a nice time. She is such a hard worker. The food was delicious I would highly recommend the lollipop chicken, mango drink, butter chicken, and cauliflower appetizer. If you have never tried Indian food give them a try you will not be disappointed.

We have been going to Mayuri for years but recently their quality has gone down the drain. All the Naans were burnt and super crispy like papad. Chicken in Chicken Makhani was dry and chewy. Vegetables bondas were filled with oil. By the time food got home(10 minutes) the oil had come out in the box and bondas were floating in oil.(no kidding) Mayuri just lost a regular customer.

Ordered a lunch box to go and specifically stated I did not want butter chicken. She offered an alternative. However, when I got home, I got butter chicken in my lunch box. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager(name — Somi). I asked what could be done with the wrong order. She said nothing could be done. VERYPOORWAYTODEALWITH A CUSTOMER!!! I explained this to my credit card company and a dispute will be filed.

I can’t tell whether Mayuri is really as authentic as they claim to be, but the restaurant interior is very warm and smells strongly of Indian spices. That should say something about the place’s credibility. I did not know that the restaurant was a buffet at first, so I sat down like a clueless idiot for a few minutes. But discovering a buffet is sometimes a pleasant surprise because there’s almost always something you’d like, and you don’t have to worry about being left hungry. This buffet is pretty standard. Though their food is good, I have a problem with biting into one of their pungent spices or sharp chicken bones. The sweltering heat is also a bit of an issue, but maybe that was intended. On the plus side, they have lots of gulab jamun, a delicious dessert. I just can’t form a strong opinion one way or the other about Mayuri.

This is a review of Mayuri Indian Cuisine’s Sunday afternoon buffet. In summary, mediocre food, poor service and ambience at high price. Went on Sunday afternoon with my wife. The restaurant was packed with weekend lunch crowd. We were asked to wait few minutes for a booth to open. After some confusion and(mis) coordination, the staff found us a booth. Our booth was near the busy intersection where incoming guests, staff buzzing in and out of the kitchen and people struggling to get in buffet line all collided in a chaos. Mayuri serves Andhra style Indian food which is a bit different from the North Indian food commonly found in other Indian buffets. One look at the buffet and I overcame with a sense of unease. Nothing looked very appetizing. Food was spilling out and stands were messy. Normally I love Saag in any Indian restaurant. It’s a simple recipe with spinach and paneer. But this one was mixed with beans and other vegetables. There was a shredded cabbage curry which looked mushy. IMO, no Indian restaurant should serve shredded cabbage curry. It’s a recipe made at home that doesn’t deserve buffet menu prices. Shame on you Mayuri for using this one on your buffet menu. They have a separate station for non vegetarian menu. I tried few vegetarian curries and butter chicken. Nothing home to write about. The set dosa and sambar was little better than the curries. Mango lassi was good. But clearly they are scrimping by serving it in a smaller than usual glass. They were constantly running out of fresh plates causing guests to search all over and crowd the buffet stations. Overall, this is not where I’d go again whenever I’m craving for a nice Indian buffet.

Quick service, very family friendly and yummy food. After waiting at a nearby thai resturant for long without getting a table, we came here with a very hungry toddler. They seated us right away, entertained my kid while we looked through the menu and got the food out very quick. Thank you !

I’m here for some curry & they have a buffet. I love the fact vegetarian & vegan section is main & totally separated from meat dishes. Their eggplant was really good heavy on cardamon but watch out for seeds. Amazing flavors on all their vegetarian dishes. Fast cleaning, & busy at 2pm Sunday. They have more parking behind the restaurant.

Ordered veg biryani and found an egg shell half way through the rice. Seriously? All vegetarians out there, think twice before getting any food from this place. Also recently the service has been worst and the food quality is degrading. Before the egg shell episode, on few occasions found out the rice was few days old, spoiled veggies etc but the egg shell in biryani crossed the limit. This is on togo box. I don’t know what kind of service or quality people get while eating at the restaurant, but togo box quality is worst. Not ordering from this restaurant again.

I have been going to Mayuri for some years now. Most places sort of get worse as times goes by. Thankfully Mayuri is the exception. Always delicious and the staff is very nice. Sometimes they don’t communicate all that well, but that is a minor thing, I have not had it be a problem really. I always get the Lamb dishes, they are excellent and the lamb is always cooked right, it is tender and flavorful. Mayuri gets my vote as one of the best Indian restaurants on the east side.

I went to dinner here with my husband and the dinner was subpar. I ordered buttered chicken and there was almost no flavor and the color was off. It looked more like chicken curry. They had daily specials and the Sunday special was if you buy a tandoori meal you get a free draft beer or glass of wine. My husband was asking about a draft beer under the draft section and picked one while asking about a beer. When the server brought it, it was a glass of wine. My husband tried to get a beer instead and she wouldn’t replace it without us paying for the wine. It also took us asking us 3 times to get her to make sure the wine was free because of the Sunday special. The service was also slow.

May be good for certain items that to if it’s a week day with very few customers. Buffet is below average and the service is just plain pathetic — They won’t refill items /water — don’t check on you even once, Bill won’t come so better to just walk up to the register and Pay. Much better places like OH India, Kanishka exist May be give it a try once — or if you like a specific item just order to go.

Best Indian cuisine I’ve been to since moving from New York. Our first time to visit Mayuri tonight and so worth it! The food and service is excellent. Staff are courteous and attentive. I highly recommend this place to dine for an authentic Indian cuisine and pleasant experience!

Used to be my favorite Indian buffet. Food is good. However, prices have gone up too much. Also, you have to go down two sides of the buffet table at the new location which is inconvenient.

Yesterday, my friend suggested we try this place. We were greeted immediately as we entered. It was lunch buffet and very impressive. There were MANY choices to choose from and all of it tasted soooo fresh! There was a lamb stew, lentils, butter chicken, desserts, etc. There was even some chicken for those who don’t care for spicy foods. I am in LOVE with this place! Next time I visit, I’m bringing my family with me.

Our go-to Indian restaurant for the past 20+ years. We’ve been to many Indian restaurants on the east side, but always end up back at Mayuri. Hands down the best chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and lunch buffet. We also love their spinach pakora, naan and goat vindaloo. Knocking 1 star off for the dinner service. The service can be inconsistent, inattentive and slow. Also it’s a good thing they moved because the old kitchen was getting a little gross. Can’t wait to check out the new place. Hopefully nothing changes except a cleaner new kitchen and better service. Food wise, Mayuri just can’t be beat.

This place is a total hit and miss. Sometimes the food is very good and some times it is average at place. I am giving three stars for their lack of consistency. When the food is good, you get to taste some authentic Indian food and probably one of the very few Indian restaurants on the east side that can deliver authentic Indian food. They moved to a newer location which is pretty cool. It has a bit more space to accommodate more people.

Your average Indian spot. Nothing great imo. Went here with my parents for dinner, we were seated right away so no issues there. We got the paneer pakora, garlic naan, kabuli naan, paneer tikka masala and jalfrezi. Everything was fine, I wasn’t amazed — probably everything we ordered could easily be made at home and taste the same if not better. This used to be a Mexican restaurant so the interior still has that same type of design, the restaurant itself is kind of loud but it’s Indian people so that’s to be expected. Prices are decent, I think the food is worth the price and the portions are pretty big. Our server pretty much forgot we existed after he brought our food out so we had to wait a while to get our bill. I would probably come back here again but not for a while and honestly there are better Indian restaurants in the area.

I love Indian food, I stopped in here today for the first time… it was ok. I never received the chai, and at $ 12 for lunch, fairly expensive. I may give it another try at some point.

Checked in on a Sunday noon for the buffet. Really ordinary selection, in fact they had 3 varieties of Sambar which was strange — ordinary taste. They can definitely improve on the selection for vegetarians especially starters, papads and variety rice. Again nothing was bad but nothing which would attract me one more time !

The lunch buffet is solid. Good tasting food, good variety, good service. The entrees and breads at dinner are excellent — tasting better than their lunch equivalents. Appetizers and soup sometimes taste heated from frozen. This place sends mixed messages on the casual dining. The lighting is not bright like a family restaurant. The noisy clinking from them preparing silverware for the buffet in the dining room during dinner and the casual service doesn’t really make it a date place.

Had dinner here last night. We ordered garlic naan, chicken Tikka masala and vegetable biryani. I was slightly perturbed when I got my food and realized that during the ordering process they never asked us how spicy we wanted our entrees. I ended up with a dish spicier than I prefer but it was still good. The service seemed a little sluggish, I was downing my water pretty quickly due to the burning in my mouth and the waiter didn’t come by to refill it very often. I even had a chuckle when a lady who seemed like a manager came by and scolded the slow waiter for leaving us with empty water glasses. The garlic naan was exceptional I would recommend getting this every time you come! It was deliciously seasoned and perfect for pairing with our other food. Anyway, I think things will get better here as the kinks of being a new restaurant get worked out.

Had a severe pregnancy craving for Indian and stopped here on a whim! Overall, very good. We were quite early for the dinner rush so service was a touch slow, but I think that had more to do with shift changes than anything. Staff was very welcoming and friendly and the food was hot, fresh, and flavorful as one would hope. Hubby was very happy with his chicken vindaloo– stating that it had a nice building heat. My paneer tikki masala was also quite tasty, though I would have loved a bit more heat/spice. Perfectly seasoned and well prepared otherwise :)(If you’re afraid of spicy hot… Go for this and you’ll be stoked. The creamy tomato broth makes it a complete comfort food.) Throw in a side of garlic naan and craving satiated! Perk on leaving– one of the staff(perhaps family member?) was working on a traditional rangoli at the front entrance… simply beautiful. May it bring them much luck and many happy customers!(See pic)

Last night our family had visited to this so called new and renovated restaurant hoping something good but we had very very bad experience, especially the female server with long hair, who doesn’t know to behave with costumers. NOHOSPITALITY, they were not even cultured with general serving manners. The most highlighted part was THEYWERERUNNINGOUTOFTOMATOKETCHUP on Saturday evening dinner. This was even funny to here that they don’t have basic ketchup. And most observed part is these guys behave different with Americans and Indians. Being a Indian cuisine, they treat in a bad and careless way with Indians. This kind of racism was not expected from these guys. I wish this survey would reach owner and take action against female server with long hair.

This place is so good. They definitely know about flavor and really good customer service. We came early at 11:30am. The food was hot and fresh. I had the chicken Marsala, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, a squash dish, some salad. Everything was delicious. The naan and rice were heavenly. We will definitely be back.

It has moved to a new location, and I have not tried it yet. As testament to its general deliciousness I have forgotten that it was moving and gone to the old location twice accidentally(prior to it opening at the new location). It was sad. I recommend Okra Tikka Masala and everything else on the menu. My favorite desert is probably carrot halwa, really wonderful. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience.

This was an amazing lunch buffet, I am sorry I forgot to place a review on the day I ate there. Many vegetarian options to choose from. The Naan was cooked perfectly but not individually served to the table. Mint chutney is as hoped not too runny not too spicy. They have these vegetable dumplings, not quite like pakora but amazing. I Also liked the flat white pancake thing, not sure what it is called, bit it was yummy. They have the best galub jamun I have ever eatten… except for today when I went to Oh India! In Bellevue. Between the two you can’t go wrong especially if you are a vegetarian who loves Indian foods.
