My 8 year old son saved up almost 60 dollars and went to Hobby People to purchase a RC truck. After a day or two of play my son noticed the steering was not working to well. It just quit steering after that. We took the part(the servo) back to the store to get it replaced or exchanged or something. We were told that this supposed purchase is a «one and done«purchase! So, you can spend 60 some dollars on a purchase and if it breaks in a minute, an hour or a day or two… tough shit… your out that money, which to an 8 year old is devastating! I dont know who to go after, the store or the maker! Someone is pocketing money from little kids!.Do they think your going to come out of pocket to buy a new one? I guess if you dont spend hundreds of dollars on a toy, you dont mean anything to anybody! If you sell a product, then stand behind it! I am one pissed dad!

Lots of RC stuff, which is great for guys who are into it. If you’re into RC cars and whatnot, this is definitely a place to check out. If you’re more of a model kit person like me(specifically Gundam model kits) you’re better off elsewhere. Not that great of a Gundam selection(there were only about 7 kits on the shelf, all of which were older, uninteresting models) and prices were much higher than I’d be willing to spend at a local business. They have a good selection of modeling supplies, however, so that was nice — lots of paints and tools. I picked up an Xacto knife for a good price, which I’m happy about. Service is good all around. They ask you if you need help and are attentive to your needs even on a busy day, which I appreciate. My only gripe is their general knowledge on what they sell. The older workers seem to know what they’re doing, but none of the younger employees could answer a single question I had regarding certain products. The area itself isn’t the best, but it’s not the worst either. The Tri City area has been dying out over the years, so it may be tough finding the shop itself. Not a big hassle, though. Easy to find if you’re used to the area. All together, I’d give Hobby People a 3.5÷5. They definitely gear more towards other hobbies than others, but that’s understandable and I won’t mark them down for that. It’s mainly the fact that many of the workers aren’t knowledgeable in what they’re selling, which is a bit frustrating when you’re trying to figure out what and what not to buy. If you’re a modeler, maybe find a different place for kits, but if you’re an RC guy, this is definitely a place to stop by.

Worst experience ever! Bought an RC truck for Christmas, assembled it, charged it for 4 hours and headed outside for some fun. The truck didn’t even work for 5 minutes when it quit working. My son brought it in on the 26th and was rudely spoken to by an associate and the manager(Nancy). Told«they can not fix it or exchange it, or get our $ back or store credit», BECAUSEITSBEENOPENED!!” SERIOUSLY!!! Will be stopping payment on the credit card and ship the POS back to them.

You may not know what cyanoacrylate glue is, or that you spray an activator on it to make it set in a few seconds. I don’t even know how to pronounce cyanoacrylate. Everyone calls it CA glue. But let me tell you, it’s not easy to find. I called Lowes, Home Depot, and Michael’s and none of them carried it, much less knew what it was. I needed it to glue on bullnose corners of crown molding without using clamps. The staff at Hobby People are very helpful and friendly. Hobby People stock CA glue and while there I checked out the store. It’s a model hobbyists dream. You can build model cars, airplanes, trains, boats, or even the Battlestar Galactica. They have everything to remotely control your model to fly, drive, sail, or choo choo down the track.

Came in here this morning to pick up my first electric RC drift car, the staff was really nice and knowledgable on their products. They had a Black Friday sale today and had people waiting outside until they opened at 9am. I would defitnetly return for further purchases.

I don’t know what is up with the negative reviews in here. But at the same time It just might be understandable as the love of hobbies is usually emotion driven. Just because someone gives in to an impulse buy in some unbridled childish manner, doesn’t mean the hobby store had to be at fault. It’s ironic when a person who is satisfied with a place won’t have any particular reason to express publicly that they are satisfied. Yet when a full-grown man who has the slightest sense of discontent, and presumably the capacity to control himself, gets on Unilocal,in a rush of immaturity, and bashes a place. Childish rants aside, the Redlands Hobby People is an awesome hobby store, and the people who work there are cool and down to earth, and I believe it’s that strategy which makes them successful, and a multi-million dollar franchise as a matter of fact. Which is why I’ve been going here for years aside from it being conveniently close to where I live. They offer a wide variety for the RC car, airplane, helicopter as well plastic modeling enthusiasts and a lot more. From subtle to just about extreme you’ll find it covered there. Even if it’s a child’s school project they will have it. They can back up its products with support, something many of the mom-and-pop shops aren’t always willing to do. It’s been my go to hobby shop in the area hands-down for years. I won’t be surprised to find some of those negative e-reviewers still patronizing the shop despite their Unilocaling no pun intended, because everyone goes here, even the handful of haters evidently.

Just bought piper a week ago, got home and put it together. The instructions are a bit vague so I had to go online for more info. Got it together and went out to taxi it around, did so for 10 min or so, no problems handles good. Went to a park to fly for the first time and upon the very first take off the tail wheel brakes off just under take off speed and the thing spins out and noses into a grass and dirt burm. The cowl shatters, the prop shaft bent a little bit and the nose creased a little. Soooo needless to say I’m not happy. I spent $ 250 on the thing and it brakes the first day. Not to we’ll built, and to top it off HOBBYPEOPLE won’t exchange it even though they sold it to me and it had a defect out of the box. They tell me it’s not ther problem and that I have to go through the manufacturer, they didn’t even want to look at it. WHAT A LOADOFBS!!! Never buy from there again, these people are crooks. STAYAWAY!!!

Went there to buy a rc car and later found out that I was charged twice by them. When I got home to use the car the box didn’t include what I was told was in it by the manager. First five minutes of using the car a part broke. Had to make a big dispute to try and get my money back from being charged twice. Called the VP of the company to try and get a new car or just get my money back because it was such a hassle but the VP was unprofessional and not helpful what so ever and didn’t do much to help. They finally decided to «make things right» and give me the part that was broken but had to order it because it wasn’t in store and a month later still haven’t received anything. Would never recommend this store to anyone, go to any other hobby store but hobby people.
