I decided to give this place another try this evening. Again, not very busy, but very poor customer service. I ordered the daily special, and was truly disappointed with the look, and taste of the food. The London Broil looked like dog food on the plate. The baked potato came with sour cream(I asked for bacon bits & chives) they forgot the butter. THEUPSIDETOTHISSTORYISTHIS: The waitress handed me the bill, and only charged me for 1 beer… My bill was 4.00, ordinarily I would have volunteered to correct the mistake. But After the poor service this time. I gladly took advantage of this opportunity. LMAO!!! Karma, is a bitch!

Update… they aren’t 24 hours anymore. Still one of my favorite go to restaurants in the area. Gotta love those hidden gems. I almost always see the owner do a walk through while I’m here, and their crayon holders are the BEST

I live a couple of miles away and find the Redford Grill a great place for a sit down family meal. Food is good and filling. Pretty standard sit down dinner, lunch or breakfast selections. Portions are generous, prices very reasonable and service is friendly and fast although if they are busy especially on Friday around dinner you will be seated quickly but may have to wait a bit for food. But the wait is worth it. I go for the fried mushrooms and barbeque chicken wings. Very tasty. Cabbage soup is delicious too. A great place to go if you are hungry and want very standard American fare. The Grill seems to be popular even a community gathering place. Definitely has a very warm and homey family atmosphere. Has a full bar and is wheelchair accessible. Plenty of parking too. I highly recommend it.

The Redford Grill is a hidden gem in Redford that is not to be missed. From the outside it might not look like much, just your run-of-the-mill general American family restaurant, but oh, do not judge a book by its cover! There are so many positive things about Redford Grill. They have a very diverse menu of items from great breakfast options served all day, to wonderful salads, sandwiches, and daily specials. The menu is so diverse that I’ve been able to try many different things and not once, seriously, not once have I ever not enjoyed my meal. The staff, Johnny the owner, and all the wait staff is always very attentive, remember your name and greet you with a smile and genuinely care about your experience. Whether carry out or dining in, they make the experience above the top. The inside of the restaurant isn’t much to look at, but what it might lack, they make up for in great food and great service. Plenty of booths and tables and they even have a little bar inside where you can drink(and drink cheaply!) They have a few TVs on the wall, and are open really late in the evening and early in the morning. This is a place that you can come any time of the day, with any one, and feel comfortable, relaxed and simply enjoy good conversation and a meal. I truly believe this is Redford’s gem. A few of my favorite highlights and things to know: — The Redford Grill salad is amazing! Great diverse ingredients, wonderful greek dressing, comes with a pita and everything you need in a great, filling salad. — The sliced turkey sandwich or club sandwich comes with REAL sliced turkey. This is not the kind you get at the deli, but rather sliced from roasted turkeys and boy are they good — thick slices that are juicy and delicious. — The tuna melt is great, a complete tuna melt sandwich on delicious rye bread, melted to perfection. — You can upgrade to deluxe on anything and get fries and coleslaw for a reasonable price. — They offer Pepsi products. — The soups are homemade and delicious, you can’t miss if you’re in the mood for soup. — They have a rotating dessert service when you walk in, so you can see all the homemade options up front. — The service is first rate, seriously nice and generous people who care about the community and making the guest feel at home and welcomed. There is no better place in the area for overall good food at really reasonable prices, I can’t stress that enough. This is a wonderful gem that you might not think to drop in by driving by, but that once you go in or order carry out, you’ll do so again and again. They’ve gotten me hooked as a lifer!

Love the Cinnamon French Toast and Veggie Skillet! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and everything you can pretty much think of. I have gone to this restaurant for years and never have I been disappointed. This family owned restaurant has stood the test of time with its great food, service, and atmosphere and has stepped it up now with a bar, TVs and service of alcohol with a later hrs on Fri and Sat. Catch GREAT breakfast deals till 11, just watch out on wknds for it gets crowded at breakfast REALLY fast, but wait for a moment PATIENTLY, you will be sat before you know it.

I’ve lived in Redford for several years; 3 – 5 years ago I would have given this 1 star at best. However, in the last year the food has been a lot better and the service more consistent. I’m not sure if there was a change in management. For quick cheap dining it’s worth it.

Overall quality of food and especially service has gone down with change on ownership/management. Too difficult to get in and out of there on a lunch hour now.

First time eating here. My mom ordered the corn beef and cabbage. It came out the corn beef was very hard to cut. Asked if we could just picked something else out. The manager didn’t come to the table but told are waitress he would give my mom new corn beef that’s the best he would do. My mom then asked to speak to the manager and her wouldn’t come to the table. He told the waitress to go ahead and replace my mom meal. Then when we were cashing out the manger was doing all the check out. Once we got to the counter and saw my mom he dodged us like the plaque. He made the waitress come and cash is out. Have never had a manger avoid a customer like that. And I have worker in then food industry.

I have been searching for some place close to home for a good greek salad, I thought I found the spot at redford grill boy was I sadly mistaken! I got the greek salad twice here and it was great, well… today 10÷24÷14 was another story, I stopped in at 7:15pm and when I got home and opened my salad what a joke does anybody give a s##t about quality and freshness of food that they are serving to people who work hard for thier money and dont appreciate wasting it on incompetent idiots? Back to the salad which I forgot to mention was $ 7.25 of wasted cash, half of the lettuce was the white bottom of the core bitter lettuce yuck!, next was the wrinkled skinned rubbery green peppers, then the smooshie tomatoes and olives, someone needs to oversee the quality of your ingredients and make adjustments accordingly(throw away old produce) sorry to say but I dont like throwing my hard earned money away therefore you have lost another customer, but you probably don’t even care and thats part of the problem.

Stopped in here for the first time, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Its a diner first and foremost, but it has a bar in the middle of the dining room giving this place a unique feel. So it was sort of happy hour and they had a couple of drink specials listed(Long Island Iced Tea and Daiquiri), so I said ok ill try the long island. The odd thing is, it was served in a short glass as opposed to a tall glass you usually get a long island iced tea, which is kind of odd since it defeats the illusion of being an iced tea, something that is served in a tall cool glass. In any event, on to the food… a group of us ordered the fried fish, which comes with bread a potato and soup bar… there are a few variations to this such as salad and coleslaw. I opted out of the«chips» and took mac n cheese, which along with the fantastic fish was also really good. There were 4 soups to chose from the night we went, french onion, cabbage, chicken noodle, and clam chowder. The chowder was ok, the chicken noodle was amazing! The staff was all very friendly and attentive, and the food prices were unbelievable for how much you get. 3 people with 2 drinks from the bar, and it was just over $ 30, and we all had to-go boxes. I am giving this restaurant a 4, due to being very good in the class it is in. I’m not about blowing smoke up anyone’s kilt, and for what this place is, it is at th top of its game. The only reason i’m not giving them 5 stars, is the liquor prices and how the drink was prepared/served. I will certainly go back, and would recommend to anyone. Good job Redford Grill!

The Redford Grill is just A-OK in my book. It’s a great option for a quick lunch, and while the food is probably mostly pre-prepared, it’s good. The menu is HUGE and pretty good — albeit it’s full of GFS staples. The service is always great — very friendly and attentive. The Soup Bar is okay — doesn’t seem like homemade soup to me, but it’s decent. Daily specials up the wazoo. *DONOT eat the mac & cheese — it’s a big pile of day-glow orange imitation velveeta nonsense; they try to pass it off as homemade. *DOTRY the«hot hamburger sandwich.» If you like bread, hamburgers and gravy then you’ll be in heaven. If you’re feeling extra naughty, get fries with gravy instead of mashed. One thing that bothers me is the overly fake-friendly behavior of the owner/manager — it’s overflowing with«honeys» and«sweeties» to the point that you walk away feeling a little gross.

The food is good, not spectacular, but definetily good. I got the baked meatloaf, salad, and veggie of the day(substituted the potato bc of my special diet) and it was just fine. The meatloaf was tender, juicy, very flavorful, but the veggies were those found in the freezer section. The biggest reason that I gave this place a 4-star rating is the customer service. I would choose a restaurant with high-CS over high-quality food and snobs. Also, the customers are all very friendly and seem like longtime consumers; this is a good sign. The management even made his rounds to the tables which I find to be incredibly enticing along with his kindness to my daughter(this always earns an extra star). Great job Redford Grill, you’ve created another repeat customer! :)

Being in the neighborhood after helping out my good friend Theresa S., she suggested we get an afternoon nosh at the Redford Grill(Redford Inn). Walking in you’re welcomed into a very average diner with alcohol by a friendly staff. The menu is pretty standard for a Coney Island type restaurant featuring breakfast all day, a variety of appetizers and sandwiches, four soups in a serve yourself fashion, and entrées if you’re feeling fancy. I was quick to appreciate that all in one moment I was listening to Ace of Base followed by Stevie Nicks while having the option of watching Judge Judy, the Tiger’s game, as well as the pie carousel – so much entertainment! Not being incredibly hungry, I ordered a bowl of cabbage soup, order of seasoned curly fries and a slice of lemon meringue pie and coffee – obviously the healthiest meal option ever. Theresa had the Farmer’s Omelet with hash browns and an english muffin. As previously stated, the soup was a serve yourself setup which I didn’t really oppose. The bowls were huge and there was a choice between small packs of oyster crackers or standard saltines. Beyond cabbage, they were also serving chicken noodle, broccoli cheese, and French onion. I think their cabbage soup may be better than Big Boy’s and definitely less salty than Ram’s Horn’s. The curly fries brought back immediate memories of high school cafeteria food and the pie was an after thought because pie just sounded amazing. I actually had a pretty big debate about dessert because they have these mid 1980’s dessert menus on the tables showcasing their offerings which all looked pretty great – think large sundaes in mugs built around a cookie, brownie, etc. Pie offerings included cherry, blueberry, chocolate silk, and lemon meringue. Despite not being made in house, it was delicious. Random tidbit: I posted a picture of this pie on Facebook and had over 50 likes. People obviously like pie. Another great thing was they have these wooden crayon holders shaped like dinosaurs and rabbits – what’s not to love about that? Theresa suggested that they are going for a more upscale look, hence the name change. I think anyway you color it, they’re a diner and that’s totally fine. Also, they’re open 24 hours in case someone needs a Bosco Stick, spinach pie, or Greek salad at 3:49 a.m.

I had breakfast here and it was just ok. Pancakes were a little rubbery, but the bacon and eggs were good. Nothing to write home about, really. Also, they need to throw some duct tape on some of the booths.

Even if you get the breakfast special the $ 1.46 cup of coffee will put your bill near $ 5 for one egg, 2 bacon and one slice toast. The bacon tasted off — could it have freezer burn. The butter didn’t even get melted on the toast. This owner took over the place two years ago with enthusiasm and it looked promising. Doesn’t deliver in the morning; evening pizza okay. But where can you get a great breakfast in northwest Wayne County? So far every place I’ve tried is mediocre eggs and too big 3 egg omelets. No nice veggie skillet dishes, or great fired potatoes, etc. Eat at home. Too many tv’s around the room — annoying.

As the very brilliant Julie’s review pointed out… what else can you get in Redford? This place works in a pinch for those«late nights,» and yes, there are just some things you’ll eat there that will sit… funny(although I’ve never gotten food poisoning there, and trust me… I have a weak stomach). The«high points» that put this place above a 1 or 2 star are the midnight specials(actually spicy buffalo tenders, 2.49 full breakfast, etc.) and the desserts(they have a huge selection, served in big mugs, and you can’t really mess up ice cream). This is really just a glorified coney(as Redford doesn’t have a 24 hour one, so this is it…), but it’s worth a short when you’re blearily coming back from an alcohol binge at 1 in the morning.
