Here’s my story: I want everyone to know about the BAD way in which I was treated at Golden State Furniture today… For work, my colleague and I went to the GSF store in Redding and I said, «I am looking for a cherrywood desk to match the credenza that we already have; but, we are a newly formed non-profit and don’t have a lot of money, so we need to buy used.»(by the way, I went there because they advertise that they sell used) Just as the lady in this picture smiled and started to walk us into the show room, the man in the picture below – the OWNER of the business – said, «We are not the business for you.» Jenny and I looked at him with our eyes wide waiting for him to say, ‘Just kidding,’ but he didn’t. We said, «Are you serious?» and he said, «We do not give our furniture away.» He then extended his arm toward the door and pushed his hand back and forth at the wrist as if to push us out the door and said, «Bye, bye.» …I KNOW! For the first time in my life, I was speachless! This is not an exaggeration, this is verbatim what was said. I am now going to make it my mission to tell everyone I know about this experience. PLEASEDONOTBUYANYTHINGFROMGOLDENSTATEFURNITUREINREDDING. Please pass it on to all your friends. I would consider starting a boycot page on Facebook, but I barely have time to log on to my own Facebook page.

Mark and Karen(the owners) make a wonderful team for this furniture store. As with most furniture stores, they have the problem of selling a commodity. However, Mark & Karen have sold us on their service. Our office has been working with GSF for over a year now; they have been helping us design and install our desks and seating. The finished products are beautiful, and Mark and Karen do a meticulous job of installing everything, and making sure that we are happy(and continue to be happy) with our purchases. There have been issues with some of our desks(not liking the hinges, needing to swap out a piece, etc.) but they have been more than happy to resolve any problems. They also brought us a treat for the dog(our office pup), which is above and beyond what they are expected to do. And lastly, their pricing is VERY competitive. I go to them anytime I want quality furniture now. They are a bit out of the way, but if you’re looking for quality products with professional service, I say: make the trip.
