So check it out, it’s kinda crazy how it shares a building with the best western. Even still this place is the kill for brunch or lunch, the menu is super modern American with a touch of brew house added. The food is great, you can get some killer sandwiches if your feelin froggy, or some kill salads with fresh dressing. I hella suggest the Ahi tuna, or chicken sandwich it’s fire. But be carful … The buena vista social club comes here for lunch along with operas book club. LETSGOTOGIBBSAFTER A HARDDAYOFPOLO.

We ordered CR Gibbs blackened chicken Caesar salad and it was delicious. The greens were fresh, the Caesar dressing tasted really good. The dressing was not too fatty and at the same time tasted not too slim or watered down, and the chicken, the chicken was spiced to perfection. CR Gibbs did it again. Five star perfect.

Great food and great service. But the ambiance(particularly the lighting) was more suitable to a Luby’s than fine dining.

A bit disappointed. Prices high, medium food, bad service. Host completely ignored me for 9 minutes while she is on the phone. Got the daily soup, was ok. Probably«leftover» soup but good. Main course was prime rib. I wanted a steak, I thought I’ll get one because the place has«grill» in his name. No, it was over priced rib roast. With cold mash and tasteless dressing thank god I had 2 beers which make it all nicer. Waiters was completely fine.

Every time we travel to the Bay area from Oregon, we always stay at the Best Western Hilltop and dine in CR Gibbs Grill. Each time, we really enjoy the dining experience. Great service, and good food. I had the French Onion Soup which was a bit too salty, a Jack on the rocks with an Oriental Salad and the misses had a lemon drop with Chicken Tenders and fried beans. Delicious! Their house red wine was not bad. The Best Western and CR Gibbs have teamed up so when you sign in, pay an extra $ 10 for a coupon worth $ 20 in the restaurant. Essentially that saves you $ 10. That was an extra bonus that we didn’t expect. We’ll be back.

Had dinner at C.R. Gibbs tonight and it was just okay. First of all the server {didn’t catch her name but she was a female} was really slow. She was also very pushy about the specials {more than the usual pushy«these are our specials”} and I found that really annoying. Daughter ordered the Chicken, Pepperoni and Bacon pizza and she loved it — but it’s honestly not a $ 15.00 pizza. She also ordered a side of ranch which the waitress brought out in a container way too small to dip the pizza in. Had to wait for her to come back to ask for something different that would work. I ordered the Grilled watermelon prawn salad and I use the word«prawn» very lightly. This salad was $ 18.00 and is 90% salad and 10% shrimp bowl sized cajun shrimp {not prawns — prawns are large!}. I wouldn’t have minded this if the salad was $ 12.00 or so but for $ 18.00 this salad just did not justify the price. We would return and hope for a different server and would definitely try different menu items.

So this restaurant is located at the Best Western here in Redding. It was included in the price of our lodging so I could either consider this meal free… or I could think of it as «the price of my stay is more expensive than what it could have been had I stayed at another Best Western». Hmmmm… Well this is no hotel lobby with individually-packaged, wholesale-bought danishes. This is a full-on restaurant with hot and continental breakfasts being served. Here are the selections, at least the ones that I tried a bit of: * Selection of cold cereals * Hot oatmeal * Eggs * Sausage * Bacon * Potatoes * Bread * MIlk * Juices * Coffee * Tea Chocolate * Pastries * Pancakes * Fresh Fruits * Some pastries

Dining dates: 9⁄291(breakfast) 9⁄30(breakfast/dinner) 10⁄1(dinner) My repeat visits to this space came due to a few day biz stay in the attached Hotel. The ambiance of the restaurant is okay. Very much what you get in a Hotel restaurant in most cities along the i-5 corridor. The staff is friendly enough, and good at un-forced smiling… which is important to me. The food. Breakfast: simple buffet line items: eggs meats breads cereals could try potato’s. Pros: –For a stay-included-meal, not terrible. –Orange Juice Cons: –The most diverse eater in my party got a bit ill all day from either eggs or bacon. –No tea variety –Lack of diverse selection for specialty diet considerations. Dinner: Do NOT expect the ingredients or quality level of the items on the menu to reflect the price point of these items. You will leave disappointed. Night 1: Me and three friends ordered three pizzas(10 inches each) to try, some onion rings, and some bread sticks. The pizzas, about $ 15 each, were unevenly topped, felt rushed, and honestly just had a pedestrian feel. Onion rings: decent, but slightly undercooked. 5 rings for what… $ 8? Breadsticks: $ 7 for 4 two-inch by one inch wet pieces. I’m no culinazi… but I was very tempted to send this item back. Including drinks, party of four ticket: $ 135. Dinner two: Local friend visiting. She insisted that she knew the trick here, and would hook it up. Me: Fish n Chips($ 17), ‘I’m yer Huckleberry hard Lemonade’($ 8). Her: Pasta of some sort.(~$ 20), red wine. Order arrived. Mine came with an extra order of onion rings which were never ordered. ‘Oh I can take those back if you didn’t order them’ says friendly waitress. ‘O.k.’ says I. Lemonade: Served to me with no alcohol. ‘Pardon, miss. This came with no alcohol’. Waitress: ‘You ordered it virgin right?‘ Me: ‘No. Why pay $ 8 for virgin lemonade?‘ Waitress: ‘I’m sure you did.‘ I shrugged, smiled, and drank it anyway(secretly out of spite, and a little bit to not ruin a meal with a friend.) Fish and chips: To save on verbosity: ‘meh’. Pasta: To quote my friend: ‘I had this dish two weeks ago, and it was completely different, AND was hot when I got it!‘ Check came. Onion rings still on ticket. ‘Hey these were neither ordered nor eaten.‘ Waitress: ‘You sure?‘ Me:(Laughing like a lunatic) ‘okay!’. Her: «well… I’m sorry. Let me go talk to the kitchen and see if they can take it off.‘ Me: ‘whaaaaaaat? Know what, keepem… And I’ll even pay. @#$% this place.‘ Wellllll… Needless to say, in my opinion there are far cheaper and superior options in Redding.

Two cod tacos with undercooked black beans and rice, Spinach salad and 2 watered down ice tea over $ 40 plus tip. So two people almost $ 50 for LUNCH… ugh That said the food was very very decent, and we will go back for drinks and perhaps appetizers one day. Love the outdoor patio.

Breakfast Buffet: Decent selection of your normal breakfast fares, choice of carbs(pancakes, biscuits, french toast) rotates from a day to day basis. Not bad, not great. Lunch: Fish and chips are good. I would order again. Dinner: Pasta Carbonara: Not worth it. Small portions. Taste is not bad tho. I would not order again.

I would love to have given this place at least 4 stars, mostly because of the service we received from our waiter & busser. The hostess was neither friendly nor observant and my husband and I had to get her attention, so that we could be acknowledged and seated. Our waiter Brian was super fabulous. Brian was timely, attentive without being annoying, helpful and appropriately friendly. Also, the young man who bussed our table in between each course was super timely and polite. Wish I had gotten his name. That said, the food was just so so and there were a bit too many blunders beginning with the unfriendly hostess. Between my husband and I, we ordered the following: Fried Green Beans — Lightly battered, served with a jalapeño-ginger dipping sauce, Onion Rings — no description on-line, Spinach Salad with Roasted Chicken — Red onion, feta cheese and smoked bacon in honey-dijon dressing, with chicken, fresh beets, sliced egg, tomato & cucumbers(ordered w/no swine) and Shrimp Tacos — also no description on-line. Desert was so unmemorable for me it would be almost impossible for me to provide a description. Was a pavlova w/blueberries. Tasted store bought — Safeway, not Trader Joe’s. Honestly, the descriptions were the best thing about these items. The Green Been dipping sauce contained too much lemon. Onion rings were simply no good — tasteless. The Chicken on the Spinach Salad was bland & dry. Maybe it would have been better with the smoked bacon to flavor it up? Also the server, not Brian, forgot to ask me if I wanted fresh ground pepper on my salad, which Brian later asked if we was offered. Looked like possibly steak & alcohol(liqueur) were their specialty area, so maybe they would have received better ratings if I was one who appreciates either of them.

I’ve been slacking my Unilocal duties, so here goes! We were heading to Grant’s Pass for friends 80th birthday and bunked here at the Best Western in Redding, Ca and what’s great is they have this restaurant on site. My darling bride ordered the«Bubblin’ Crock Of Onion Soup» made with Sherry– Marsala– beef & chicken broth topped with a baked crostini– Provolone– Swiss– scallions, she also had the Spinach Salad with grilled chicken– red onion– Feta– bacon– beets– apples– tomato– cucumber– Honey Dijon dressing! I went for the«Grilled Ahi», served atop Cajun spice– mango avocado salsa– coconut rice, raspberry soy-chile & scallion infused oils! Everything tasted great, the Ahi was perfectly seared, rare in the middle! Perfect! We usually stay at the La Quinta for the Cattleman’s Steakhouse. I think we’ve a new destination on our travels north!

Phenomenal service, great meal. We were unaware of the 4p start time for the dinner menu, and the lunch menu had gluten in every item, but the kitchen staff prepared dinner items for us nearly an hour early. Very appreciative because my girlfriend is highly reactive to gluten. Also, the prime rib with blue cheese mushrooms, asparagus, and mashed potatoes was perfect. The protein was prepared just to my liking, and the flavors all popped. Her filet mignon with zucchini ‘noodles’ and potatoes were just as well done. The wait staff were very helpful and attentive. Totally worth it.

There’s just something about fish tacos. I try them just about everywhere that offers this dish, and C.R. Gibbs’ fish tacos(as shown in Mike C.‘s photo) look tasty! It’s a 5-star dish indeed because it has a wonderful blend of eclectic flavors. Here’s what the dish is comprised of: Grilled cod lightly floured, seasoned with secret spice then folded into two grilled corn tortillas, with purple cabbage, grated provolone cheese and cool ranch. Served with salsa, cuban style black beans and rice — the rice being more like«rice pilaf» style. Until now, I never had fish tacos with provolone cheese and cool ranch but this is a nice twist and makes C.R. Gibbs fish tacos stand out — and this is a huge deal coming from someone who’s eaten loads of fish tacos!

We had a very nice dinner here with our three small children. The staff was very accommodating with seating us where we requested(outside) and they also let my daughter order off the menu(plain noodles with butter of course!) the high chair and booster seats were clean and in good condition which is not the case at most restaurants! Our dinners and drinks were very good. We had fish tacos and steak salad with beer and wine. They have a lot of beers on tap and a good, affordable wine list. I’m always impressed when a waiter can handle our rambunctious bunch and he did a great job. We will eat here again!

This is a great restaurant, very consistent quality food. I travel for business to Redding 4 times a year. I always stay at the Beat Western. C.R. Gibbs American Grill is attached to the hotel. Every time great food, exceptional service,(Thank you Bartender Jeff.) Chef specials change every night. Menu favorite, the Seared Ahi Tuna. So good!
