I haven’t had many of the baked goods, but there’s a huge selection and I believe they’re all very good. I’ve had an eggplant stromboli there and the ricotta cheese cake. Both I would recommend(though you should note the ricotta cheese cake will be much less moist and have more of a lemon-y taste than your average new York style cheese cake).

My absolute favorite place in the world for subs. Quality meats, incredible bread. I always get the same thing. Prosciutto, provolone, sundried tomato and balsamic. I know I should try something else, but it is soooo good. The bread is just incredible!

well I didn’t like that they don’t wear plastic gloves and same person who handled money took peppers that had fallen off onto the counter and with bare hands stuffed them back into the sandwhich. and swiped his nose on his sleeve while wrapping my sandwhich. they need to clean up their act. I’m actually afraid now to eat my hot sandwhich I just bought for $ 7.49!

I ordered catering for a doctor’s office from Randazzo’s and asked for the finger sandwiches tray, which was an assortment of deli sandwiches that came with a side of pasta salad. I also got tomato and mozzarella salad and Caesar salad. When the food arrived, everyone commented on how to sandwiches look absolutely disgusting. They were soggy, smashed down, and just really gross looking. The description on the menu says with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses. I’m not sure if they’re aware but Kraft single cheese slices do not fit that description and that’s exactly what was in them. None of these sandwiches was good or barely edible. The pasta salad was very dry and absolutely tasteless. The doctor came in and said, «I’ll be honest, I’m not even touching that! You should get your money back. I’ll never order from Randazzo’s again.» There were a total of three doctors there and none should eat the food and had to order out lunch from somewhere else! He called Randazzo’s and spoke with the same woman I spoke with who has a heavy accent and is very hard to understand. All she said was«sorry about that.» The food must be pretty bad if a doctor takes time out of his day to complain about the free food he received. After I left, I called and was told by this woman, who is apparently the manager(though a poor excuse for one) that the owner just left and to call back tomorrow. Seriously? I just spent $ 150 on food there and that’s what she tells me?! The other owner refused to come to the phone because«he only handles bakery catering.» Right, great service you have there, especially when a customer has a problem. The other kicker is that the guy who initially took my order over the phone was a rude jerk. He acted like I was inconvenicing him to place the order. Never said thank you either. I order from restaurants all the time for catering and will never go back there, not for the food or terrible service.

Im a casual customer to their other location on Somerset St in Raritan, aka The Raritan Bakery. This must be the equivalent to the«day old bread section» at a supermarket. Each time ive purchased donuts/pastries here from the minimal selection, they were noticeably stale. Save yourself the bad review next time and just donate this crap to a soup kitchen and take the tax write off.

First and foremost one of the worst ran place, perhaps because it’s a family owned business that customer satisfaction or loyalty isn’t a culture or priority here. This place is not the best, I suggest going to Brooklyn to get real authentic Italian with deserving owners that go above and beyond for their customers. Distasteful experience all around! Rude snarky people behind the counter. Lady behind the counter seems to have a choice on the folks she served, when faced with a question she seemed like you’re inconveniencing her! the way she spoke to my friend was a bit condescending, a little racist I’d say based on the fact she very well know we were standing there waiting for service as she looked over us and skipped to the next person in line. Well let’s just say our business was well deserved elsewhere. This one I’ll add to my shit pile! Thanks but no thanks!

One of the best Italian bakeries in NJ. From hot and cold subs, to breads, desserts, and fresh pasta, this should be your go to for Italian gourmet foods. Randazzo’s is a finely tuned machine as the service is fast even when long lines are apparent. Parking is a little difficult as it is located at a jug-handle in Raritain on Route 202. That being said, I have never not gotten a spot since people area always coming and going pretty fast. As I said, you can really find anything you are looking for at Randazzo’s and it will be fresh and delicious.

We ordered this to be delivered to the office. The food arrived about 15 minutes late. I tried the turkey wrap, grilled chicken wrap, garden salad, and the tomato and mozzarella salad. The turkey wrap was not bad. The turkey was a little dry, but not terrible. The grilled chicken wrap was very solid. The chicken was of good quality and had a good flavor. The garden salad was just normal. There were no complaints there. The tomato and mozzarella was the best item I tasted. Both appeared to be fresh and had plenty of olive oil, but not too much. Will I go back? Yes.

We’ve stopped in several times; initially, things looked really good, but after several so-so experiences we’ve learned to just keep driving. Yes they have lots of cookies and pastries, but unfortunately they seem to have too many pastries that have been sitting around too long so they aren’t as fresh as we’d like. The biscotti and cookies are alright, but when we ask for a mixed pound we actually mean for the server to give us several of each type, not just grab big handfuls from the two bins of the varieties directly in front of him without reaching any further! They also have a full deli counter with custom sandwiches(which we haven’t tried) although we have tried some of their savory breads, stuffed and otherwise, and maybe it was the time of day, but they again just didn’t have that fresh-baked quality you expect from a real bakery, Italian-American or otherwise. They have a few tables, although most folks take their stuff to go; their few parking spots outside do get crowded, but don’t blame us for blocking your way, we’ve moved on!

Been going here for the past 20 years and they were great — always fresh pastries and cakes, my family absolutely loved this place for such a long time. However, the past 2 years have been one disappointment after another, and I can easily observe some turnover on the employees(no more familiar faces). The freshness of the pastries is the biggest issue, we gave it several«tries» as we thought it may have been a bad day, but there have been too many bad days(we give up). The cakes aren’t as good as they used to be either. Not sure about the deli side, but their bread is not that good lately. I honestly hope they improve as they were such a big part of our family celebrations for so long.

Two, three years ago I would have given this place 5 stars… As it stands today, there is really nothing extraordinary about this place. What really irks me about this place though was my experience on Christmas Eve. Before entering, an employee handed us a number(understandably since it was a holiday and assumably very busy for them) but then he blocks us from walking in. After blocking us, questioning why we can’t at least go inside and look at the pastry and cake displays(we did not preorder… how do I know if I want to buy something yet?) he lets us in seconds later. It was an awkward interaction! So awkward that I walked right out and drove straight to Wegmans!

Ehhh… Most cakes are over priced, the do have a lot of premade cakes that it makes me question how fresh these cakes are. Might be better to preorder or get disappointed with a lame mess that i got. Got the chocolate mouuse cake, and was underwhelmed. Cheap flavoring, tacky decorating, and chaulky chocolate flavor. Maybe i just didnt get a good batch –but staff is pretty rude nonetheless.

This place is perfect ! There isn’t too many authentic Italian places in the area but the one takes the cake or the cannoli I should say.

Quintessential Italian bakery in the heart of NJ’s ultra Italian Raritan. It has everything you’d expect — cannoli, eclairs and all the Italian cookies — all done with traditional perfection. Great, friendly, familial customer service as well. Their parking lot is small and difficult when it’s crowded, so watch out!

This is consistently the best deli around. Everything is cut and made to order. I always go for the broccoli rabe and grilled chicken. My wife goes for the Classic Italian. A half is all you need so you save room for the best dam cookies in jersey. This place is always busy. Tip: the deli line is to the left, the bakery is to the right, once you get inside.

You can skip over this place and not feel guilty. The sandwiches are not that good, they seem to always have trouble properly slicing the prosciutto, and the bread has been stale at times. Must be something going on with the staff morale because almost everyone there looks annoyed when you’re placing your order. Unfortunately there aren’t a ton of Italian delis/bakeries to choose from in the area, but if you work your way further east of NJ you’ll find most other places blow this one out of the water.

What gives? Unilocal raved about the bakery part of this establishment. My friend raved about the bakery. My coworkers raved about the bakery. So the other day I had a craving for some Italian cookies and cheated on Monteleones. The rainbow cookies and pignolis were not TASTY. The pignolis were too soft and did not have enough butter. Any Italian cookie consumer knows a good pignoli has a little crunch to it. Rainbow cookies, well you can either make a good rainbow cookie or you cannot. Randazzos failed. They were just too moist and tasted very bland. I regret not going to Wegmans. However, I like the bread here. And sandwiches. I will return to you, Randazzos. But not for your cookies. :( Note: This is an Italian cookie review only. The sandwiches here are great.
