Great food! Taste of home cooking and hospitality. Would highly recommend especially for breakfast!

Went in because we have been looking for a small café that has good food. Did not find it at Billie“s. The restaurant was not busy, but our food took forever. We ordered fruit cups for our kids, thinking it would be fresh fruit. It was a fruit cup that is filled with sugar water and you can buy at the grocery store. We have not been back and I will not be going.

Short order cook is a tough job. The Sunday morning shift at Billie’s should find their true calling. I ordered the diner special [two eggs, meat, and chipped beef(or sausage gravy)] without potatoes. It took a solid 15 minutes before serving and the meal wasn’t worth the wait. The bacon tasted like greasy heat-lamp protein; however, the eggs-over-easy were cooked well despite the fact that they were dripping with grease, not a big deal, just… different. The cream chipped beef was the biggest disappointment; served in what appeared to be a surplus, plastic, hospital-bowl the gravy was more like white craft-paste. It takes about one minute to cook a roux and eliminate the flavor of raw flour. Unfortunately during the quarter-hour it took to cook my breakfast, the chef didn’t have the chance to make a decent pan gravy. I am soo curious as to whether s/he labeled the offering from a vat, or prepared that travesty to order. The latter seems slightly-more excusable. I can’t imagine making a massive batch of gravy before-hand and doing such a terrible job. Despite the one(, and possibly, fluke) bad day for the food, the atmosphere is drab. Tall ceilings, pistachio paint, and expansive, barren walls make for a dry and unforgettably-morose dining experience. To compound the sentiment imparted from the food and general atmosphere, my waitress was less than welcoming. Hospitality really hinges on the staff. A run-down joint or even a clean restaurant, as Billies appears to be, is made or broken by the affect of the waitstaff. Everyone has bad days but making patrons feel like they’re an inconvenience is unacceptable. I would like to go back and give this café another chance; the only thing that might stem my return is the prospect of being greeted by the same uncaring, annoyed face of the waitress that served me on this last visit. The management can overcome the gloomy environment with decent food and could even overcome both the atmosphere and dismal food with bright, airy waiters/waitresses. The triple threat of gloom, off-tasting food, and miserable staff makes me never want to return short of a curiosity to see whether I was just unfortunate enough to visit on the café’s worst day. Sorry, this is bleak but breakfast isn’t that hard.

We come here often, my family and I. The food is comfort food, Something that reminds you of your mom’s cooking. Its nice, the atmosphere is good. The waitress are nice. One thing that really needs important is the time it takes for food

Nice little country café, good food and nice people. Great deserts and breakfast. Wife and I have eaten here on several occasions with no complaints
