I just wanted to say that after a long search for an Optometrist during a freak accident I had, I can say that The Rancho Santa Margarita Optometry office was no short than Amazing! I can’t remember the last time I visited any place and felt so much love from everyone in that office. They make you feel important as you feel. They are friendly, kind, funny and most importantly a very smart group of people. I walked in scared and nervous because I had never had an eye injury. I walked out of there very satisfied. Give this place a chance. They do it all! Thank you Rancho Santa Margarita Optometry Team! You Rock!

The office staff here is amazing, very fast and efficient. Everyone is extremely friendly. It was my first visit with Dr. Liza Smith Koepke, and she was very knowledgable with dry eye and so sweet to talk to. When I order contacts, they are in within a day or two. The staff always calls to remind you of your appointment. I have been going to this practice for years and have no complaints. Highly recommend.

Love this office and everyone there! Dr. Liza Smith is such a bright light, cheerful, friendly and very knowledgeable. I’ve been seeing the same ophthalmologist for several years as he diagnosed me with early onset glaucoma and said that careful monitoring is required. He also told me that I had some eye damage from my Lasik 3 years ago.
Dr. Smith did a very thorough exam, checked for all my concerns and even pulled up a visual on the computer to show me what she was talking about. She saw no signs of glaucoma, my pressure was completely normal and my peripheral vision was good. She said the only thing in my eye from the Lasik is the surgery scar which is completely normal and eventually goes away with time. She listened to my concerns about my vision and agreed that glasses for driving and glasses for reading would be helpful but did not try to push me into making any purchase.
The optician was friendly and helpful. After looking up my health coverage she guided me to the options that would be covered fully or pretty close. She explained the lens recommendations and didn’t «sell» me on expensive options that I didn’t need.
I think I might actually look forward to my annual exam now! Thanks Dr. Liza!

I love this office because everyone is friendly and professional. I specially like Dr. Fadavi. She’s extremely knowledgeable, and makes me feel very comfortable. She is extremely thorough, and spends a lot of time with me. Both my children and husband also see her. My children look forward to going for an eye exams just because of her!!!

Great office, and very easy to make appointment. Never wait very long and Dr Fadavi is very nice and easy to talk to. She is very thorough and takes her time.

I’ve been coming to Rancho Santa Margarita Optometry for many years now. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I have been to 3 of the doctors and I like all of them. You would be in great hands with any of them. The opticians are very patient in working with me in selecting new frames. I have never had a bad experience here and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Friendly staff and Dr. Smith is very professional and personable. Have a very good selection of eyewear with reasonable prices especially when using insurance. Overall great visit and highly recommend.

Everything went by fast and smoothly. My Dr. Is a very nice lady and always patient and caring with my visits. On the other hand a front desk worker by the name of Amanda had an attitude as if she did not like her job or she didn’t care. She never once smiled or greeted me. I mentioned something about my contacts being blurry due to a reason and she said nothing and proceeded with her job.

First let me say that I am a nearby business owner and my business has over 175 reviews so I don’t take providing a negative review on Unilocal lightly. I have a very good understanding of what poor Unilocal reviews can do to a business reputation and realize that sometimes you cannot please everyone. Also, I am not one to complain (as you can see by the # of my Unilocal reviews) about much, but in this case I feel it’s very appropriate.
I obtained an exam for eyeglasses AND CONTACT LENSES on July 24, 2015. I found Dr. Fadavi to very pleasant, professional, and qualified and have no grievance with her directly. I obtained my prescription and was given some contacts to try which I removed before leaving the office as they were not comfortable. I rarely wear contact lenses but 2 – 4 times a month when I surf and decided not to order any at that point as I still had a couple of pairs at the time. It was NEVER suggested to me that I still owed any money for my exam as I was given a prescription for contact lenses and would presume ALL COSTS would have been charged when I received the exam. Now 11 months later I realized that my VSP benefits were about to expire and decided I should use those dollars towards six months of toric lenses and ordered them online late last week through the VSP website retailer using the prescription from RSM Optometry as I needed o move quickly and had no time to go to the optometrist. I received a call this afternoon (⁵⁄₃₀) at noon where a young lady from RSM Optometry notified me that a request for Rx verification had been submitted to them from an online retailer and that they would not be able to verify my Rx until I paid another $ 70 for my contact lens exam. Excuse me??? It was explained to me that these charges were standard and would have been charged against my lens benefits when I purchased my contact lenses THROUGH RSM OPTOMETRY. When I asked why I was NEVER advised of this and why I would be expected to pay for an exam after already leaving the facility and being provided a full paper contact lens Rx?, I was told this was done as a courtesy to clients so billing could be completed at the end of the transaction WHEN LENSES ARE PURCHASED FROM THEM. I was never advised of any of this and felt like I was being extorted at the last possible second (they close at 1:30pm on Sat and closed on Sun ⁵⁄₃₁ which meant I would now lose my VSP lens benefits for this year!). I was told that if I did not agree to pay during the phone call that my lens order would be cancelled which I refused to do. I went to the competing optometrist in town (Dove Canyon) and they said they charge $ 155 which includes the contact lens exam, and not $ 70 additional contact lens exam fee that RSM Optometry is suggesting they charge proactively. Moreover, Dove Cyn stated that they ALWAYS require exam fees be paid up front to avoid this very situation. I refused to pay the additional $ 70 and have had my lens order cancelled and lost my benefits for the year. I feel that I was not properly advised and was unfairly punished for not buying my lenses from RSM Optometry. I was very busy when they called and could not have even given them a credit card had I wanted to. However, it became a matter of principal as there was no compromise offered, the communication was poor, and I felt rather extorted from — especially after finding that other optometrists do not charge such excessive (and hidden fees). Had they offered to waive or reduce the fee for purchasing through them I probably would have done it as I had no requirement to purchase online it was just easy as I had no time to come in before my benefits expired. Rather than offer any compromise, they felt it was better to just lose a good client. I will never use RSM Optometry again and would certainly never recommend them which is unfortunate as I believe they have good doctors and a nice facility — but this policy is just unfair and uncalled for. Shame on you RSM Optometry!

Dr. Meghdadi is the best optometrist I have ever seen. She takes her time in obtaining a thorough history and her detailed attention during the examination also attest to the quality of the care. Dr. Meghdadi and her assistant show utmost professionalism and kindness throughout the visit. The front desk staff and opticians were helpful as well. It was even easy to get an appointment without any delay. I cannot recommend this office highly enough.

I’ve coming to this office for nearly 10 years. Dr. Smith is not only an incredible optometrist, but an all-​around great guy. Coming from someone whose eyes are at the bottom of the spectrum (about –11), I guarantee Rancho Optometry will work for you. Dr. Smith and his staff are patient, supportive, and always make the experience smooth. Highly recommended.

Dr. Smith is excellent! I have been seeing him for about 15 years. I started with glasses, then contacts, & have been using mono-​vision contacts for at least 10 years.
My husband also sees Dr. Smith. About two years ago he transitioned from glasses to contacts. Dr. Smith was very skilled & patient working with my husband who hated putting anything in his eye. He now loves his contacts, & is also able to wear mono-​vision contacts (not everyone can). Dr. Smith fine tuned his contacts so perfectly that he has a separate pair of contacts to wear when he is playing golf. Great sight & an improved golf game makes one happy man! (I can’t guarantee the improved golf game, but I can guarantee you’ll be very satisfied with Dr. Smith)

I’ve been seeing Dr. Pantea for about 3 years. She is excellent, extremely sweet, gentle, patient, and honest. The entire staff here is great. After years of problems with my contacts, Dr. Pantea suggested lasik. It was the best decision I ever made! They have a great selection of glasses here too!
