For a leisurely brunch during the week(when it’s less crowded), I enjoy the vegetable quiche. My one complaint is that the water dispenser is usually empty and the water cups are too small.

Pros *Great coffee — vanilla honey latte. Stir it cuz the honey settles to the bottom. It is delightful! *Husband liked the Monte Cristo *location Cons *Chipped dish. I don’t even serve chipped dishes at home. This wasn’t 1 small chip. There were 2 bites. *Table kept rocking… need I say more? *Red velvet french toast lacked presentation and it wasn’t very eggy. In fact, I don’t think there was egg at all. Isn’t french toast suppose to be dipped in egg? *I ordered the salmon/spinach crêpe. It was salty. It could have been amazing but I used the spinach and greens to help balance out the salt of the salmon. *They need to update this place. Décor is starting to show its age. Shutters in the front is falling over or missing parts. Hung signs are tilted. The giant umbrella thats suspeneded overhead had a gross looking stain. I think this place has the ability to be GREAT. Especially because of it’s location. I feel like they have neglected the details that make a dining experience exceptional. You’re resting on your laurels Yellow Vase.

7 min wait to order, 20+ min wait for a parfait… are you kidding me. I’d have to be crazy to support a business that is run so poorly.

I am now hooked on lattes because of the excellent one I had while having breakfast at the Yellow Vase. The problem is that there aren’t any Yellow Vases in Pittsburgh. Located high above the ocean in a picturesque setting in Ranchos Palos Verdes, The Yellow Vase, which has several locations, is a unique little place with a fantastic breakfast menu. I was able to park directly in front of the restaurant and I believe street parking is free. The view is beyond amazing and they keep the front doors open to allow the cool ocean breeze in. Seating in front is great because the entire front has huge ceiling to floor glass so you can overlook the Southern California landscape. I had a delicious omelet and the folks I met with shared a nice breakfast and a big pastry. Again, FANTASTIC lattes are made here. Very friendly and attentive staff.

What makes the food here even better is if it’s eaten after a nice hike along the ocean. There are tons of trails in PV and this is on the way from redondo/hermosa/manhattan. It’s a cute café that you can go to wearing your best Sunday spandex and not feel underdressed. The food is great, I had their tomato basil soup and half turkey club panini. It was quite filling and tasty. They have nice outdoor seating with a view of the water and prices are typical of the area. Hopefully I’ll be swinging by here more often, the neighboring views are just beautiful.

Charming little restaurant with a French-café vibe. Worth the stop for lunch just for the delightful atmosphere and gorgeous ocean view! Only reason I docked a star was because the food took rather a long time coming out(and I’m typically a pretty patient customer), which seemed odd since the place looked pretty slow when we were there. Oh well, at least it was all yummy! Still recommend it as a great spot for a leisurely lunch, brunch, coffee-date… or whatever. ;)

First visit to the Yellow Vase on Palos Verdes Blvd. We stopped in Sunday afternoon. This is a nice spot, good casual vibe, buzzing place with ample room, good ocean views. Menu has many choices — the chicken-chorizo scramble and the red velvet french toast were both excellent. Price is around 12 dollars for entry. I could definitely see going back here on the regular as it is on the way home from church. If you are looking for a tasty brunch type me he, reasonable prices, great views, with casual and lively feel, try the Yellow Vase.

This is location of Yellow Vase is beautifully set on PCH with a view of the ocean. The food is the same as other locations. I ordered the Stacker, which is like a club sandwich panni. The difference is the meats are moist, especially the turkey. The bread has a crispy flaky outer crust and softness in the middle. All pannis are served with a spring mix green salad that adds a nice healthy touch to your lunch.

Great little establishment with great views. I had the chorizo chicken scramble with egg whites and a side salad. When my dish came to the table my eyes nearly jumped out of my head. The 3 egg scramble took up half of the 8″ diameter plate. There was just enough chorizo to give it that noticeable chorizo flavor. The chunks of chicken were large and just enough to get a piece in every bite. My friend raves about the paninis here. We looked at everyone else’s tables and ogled their plates. They did look pretty darn good! The parking lot is on the upper side, behind the building. You can walk down, along the drive way on the right or down the stairway to the left that empties you right to the café’s back door.(This one is a little grungy though.) Totally willing to stop here again!!!

What a wonderful location for Breakfast in Palos Verdes. My friend and I had above exceptional customer service. The restaurant has a calm ambiance to it which is nice for a café. Our waitress was fast, friendly, and welcoming. I think the Red Velvet French Toast is one of the restaurant’s signature dishes. It is very good. I would recommend this place for Breakfast. What place you know has a fantastic ocean view? Now that is huge plus. :)

Too expensive for what you get. Just go to Trumps has better view or Ports of call buffet.

So I earned my «regular» status here on Unilocal! My husband and I love this cozy little spot. Always an amazing view and great food. It has a pet friendly patio, so our little fur baby always gets to come. The food has always been good. The staff always friendly. Obviously we keep coming back for more. The lattes are so good and they always make little hearts and illustrations in the foam. The french c toasts(all different ones, especially the red velvet) are very tasty and beautifully presented. We love it ps… park in the back so the ocean view isn’t blocked lol

Yellow Vase on Hawthorne by the ocean. Great view. A bit warm inside when I was there last week. You buy at the counter, they bring the food to your table here. Same as San Pedro Yellow Vase. Don’t remember seeing Yellow Vase, though big Yellow Rose was on every table. Kinda busy place.

They definitely should get 6 stars for their killer view of the PV. But their food was meh, so I averaged a 4. They have a good parking lot. Located right on the cliff, on a good sunny day, having a cup of Joe can take all your worries away. It is a great relaxing spot for brunch or coffee. The cookie and dessert selection looks quite good. I had the tomato soup with half sandwich. The soup was overly salty. Outdoor sitting is quiet and simple, couple of patio tables and chairs, a larger bench with wooden table for larger groups. Seems slight under-staffed, takes them a little while to clean the tables when customers leave.

Felt like I had to warn people of this meal. I ordered a fairly new item from the menu– the sunshine panini. It is a panini with eggs, cheese, and avocado. Sounds good right? Nope it tastes like air… completely flavorless. No salt, Pepper, spices of any kind and a flavorless cheese also. Now normally I love this place but this meal was just chocked full of nothingness. On another note– apparently you have to order before you grab a table which is not posted anywhere in the restaurant and quite frankly on a busy Saturday afternoon, sucks a lot. I was kicked out of my table when my boyfriend was next in line because I didn’t have a number yet. This consequently made us have to sit outside when it was freezing because someone else had taken my cozy table. Overall, not impressed with the food or the hospitality.

My girl and I had a Memorial Day brunch here yesterday. We parked in the back and it was obscure and hard to find at first. Much easier from the front but it’s situated at the bottom of the hill so you ultimately have to park out back. Had a very European authentic flavor and feel to it. The service was good, you order first then it comes served to you. We ate outside where you have a beautiful view of Palos Verdes boulevard and the ocean. However it was a little dirtier than I would have liked it. They played Spanish flamenco music which I enjoyed but seemed to stick out oddly. The food was delicious. My girl ordered a lemon quiche and I had the Persian salad with gluten free bread. It was wonderful. A bit on the pricey side and I was disappointed that the juice bar wasn’t open until this summer. I was really looking forward to that. Well go back again to the other location and see how we fair there.

I love this location! I definitely like this one better than the Yellow Vase in Redondo Beach. If you want to enjoy a light, simple, casual brunch in PV with a beautiful view of the ocean, this is the spot for you! I came here with 4 of my friends on a Saturday morning for a late brunch. There was a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. We chose to sit in the outdoor patio to enjoy the ocean view and breeze. I got the Quinoa Salad which is one of the newer items on the menu. It was light and delicious! I really enjoyed it but I wished there was more quinoa… I could have done without that huge wedge of lettuce. Parking: easy and free in the private lot(inside the same plaza as Trader Joes and Starbucks)

I will say that they had me with a great sandwich(Stacked Sandwich) and the black tea is really good as well, but hey had one of my favorite deserts(Lemon Bundt Cake) but it was no ordinary Lemon Bundt Cake, it had Blueberries in it with a thick lemony icing on top. Oh yeah, food coma! The place is cute and very comfortable, we sat outside where we could see the ocean and enjoy the free cool air. They have what loked to be tasty breakfast offering as well as sandwiches, salads and pastries. It is a bit of a drive unless you are in the area, but if you’re close it is worth visitng.
