4.5 stars rounded to 5 due to ***proceed with caution, trails are rocky and not easy to walk without proper shoes The Ocean Trails/Founders Park is owned and maintained by the City of Palos Verdes, and has a parking lot which is accessible from the drive onto the Trump National Golf Course. It is the second driveway you see when driving onto the property, just before getting to the Valet at the Trump Property. Parking is free. The location of the trails is adjacent and somewhat intertwined with the Trump National Golf Course Property. Once you park you will actually enter the walking trails by crossing over the Trump golf course and then onto the dirt trails. I wanted to check out the trails and was wearing flip flops, first mistake. Once leaving the concrete trails of the Trump property, the trails to the ocean are rocky and steep, so wear hiking or tennis shoes to make your walk more comfortable. I personally would not recommend this for young kids, or anyone with weak knees or ankles. This it is very rustic and can be dangerous at points, as one cliff path has no barrier between the cliff and a several ft drop onto the rocks, see pics. I believe I took one of several paths(Sunset Path ?) but they were unmarked as far as I could tell, so I don’t know the name of the one I took but I am guessing by looking on a map.

This is a lovely trail by Trump Golf course in palos verdes. I suggest you self park driving into the entrance for trump golf course prior to the valet parking area and walk in and follow the sign for trail. You do have to sometimes bypass some golfers, make sure to keep your etiquette by waiting till they tee off. LOL I didn’t realize and walked in front of a team of golfers ready to tee off on a short hole. Overall a very relaxing walk/hike by an awesome beach. Great way to break some sweat and relax on a weekend. Enjoy!

I absolutely love hiking/walking here! 1. The view is spectacular. 2. The breeze. 3. Access to restrooms(at the beginning, but still wonderful). 4. Choices of trails! Also some of these choices have signs with the level of difficulty. 5. Free and easy parking.

We came for Thurs. South Beach happy hour. Was a little far but worth the drive around Western Ave. The view as always is breath taking and the food+service awesome. We filled out tables with various dips, sliders, fried foods and our fav. was the tuna tar-tar tacos and the Thurs. nite special mojitos with all the berries.

This place is absolutely stunning! It’s a nice break from the usual crowded beaches in Southern California. The sand and the water are clean. The view from the top is breath taking. Being down on the sand is just as beautiful. There is a bit of a steep hike to get down to the sand. I walked it with my two year old daughter without difficulty. My daughter hiked back up on her own. I look forward to returning to this location.

Super food. Very nice waiters. Great menu choices. Views to die for. Only problem is that there’s not enough shade on the patio at lunch time, and the umbrellas are too clumsy to move around. Surprisingly reasonable prices for lunch for the ambiance of the place. Dinner is more costly and not as good a value.

this is located in the club house of Trump National Gold Club. yeah, it’s fancy but don’t worry about it too much. just read on. i love this place for nice Saturday lunch. very classy, yet not a bit pretentious. you can go in wearing a pair of shorts w/decent short sleeve collared shirt. this IS where you take your special someone once in a while. nice coastal drive w/a great view comes free. food and service are TOP notch here. believe me, i worked at a restaurant in Napa valley wearing black pants & long white apron as a waiter for 5 years. lunch menus are surprisingly affordable, and they usually have some creative but still tasty deserts to finish off your nice meal. you shouldn’t order anything except a double espresso for yourself, but you should order something for her. that way you get to share. reservation is not necessary for lunch on Saturday. i don’t recommend their Sunday brunch. it’s not really worth the set price. oh yeah, i love checking the exotic cars in the parking lot here, too.
