The lobby bar is a local bar for me and my husband. We are regulars here because the staff makes us feel very welcome. If you’re looking for exceptional service and incredible cocktails with the most cozy embiamce then The Lobby bar is perfect!!!

Nevermind… they revamped their menu this summer, and by revamp, I mean made everything more expensive and got rid of their Crispy Petaluma Chicken dish. Poo!

Terranea’s motto is «Discover a land not far away». Well, I live around the corner and after my last experience, I think they should reword it with«A customer service far far away» . I really like this resort: the location is incredible and on many evenings I have enjoyed the sunset at one of the restaurants or bars. Whenever I have visitors I take them to Terranea for lunch/dinner and drinks and also come here on my own during the week. Yesterday, on a busy Sunday afternoon, I went to the Lobby Bar with some friends and family members who were visiting from Europe. I had raved about the bar and the view and we were really looking forward to our drinks before having lunch at one of the restaurants. Unfortunately, and this is not the first time it happens at this bar, after 20 minutes of wait nobody acknowledged us. I decided to call a waitress who was passing by and she told me «I’ll be back» in a very rude tone. Needless to say, she did not come back. At this point, I was starting to feel very embarassed with my visitors but still tried to defend the staff saying that it was Sunday, busy etc. After 15 more minutes, of my guests decided to go inside and ask for a waiter to come to our table outside on the terrace so that they coudl take the order. They said they would send somebody. After 20 more minutes nobody had showed up. We decided to leave and needless to say, we were so soured by the experience that we decided to take our business elsewhere and did not visit one of the restaurants for lunch either. We ended up having a great meal at Trump, where we were warmly welcomed from the first moment. This experience costed Terranea $ 500 bucks we could have spent in this resort. I feel outraged that such a beautiful resort is so lacking in basic customer service. To sit at a bar for an hour without even being acknowledged is bad enough, to have to beg for a waiter to come to take your order is complely insane… As I mentioned in my opening, I live around the corner and have been a loyal customer. After yesterday’s experience and embarassment with my visitors, I will drive the extra miles and go to Trump instead.

Really good hotel bar with friendly, professional staff and terrific ocean views. Rating: For locals, this is a 5-star bar … because it really is «as good as it gets» in Palos Verdes. Off the Hill, this is probably a 4-star bar … still good, but there are a lot of amazing bars around. Drink: There is a fully stocked bar with good wines(even Silver Oak by the glass), good whiskeys(from your standard Macallan scotch to your hard-to-find Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, but not sure if there’s any Pappy left), and good craft-cocktails(I’m a fan of their barrel-aged version of a Vieux Carre). Food: The bar food is pretty good, especially the burger. Service: The staff in friendly and professional, especially the bartenders(Edens and Jeremy are GREAT). View: The inside bar is nice and cozy, with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The outside patio has great ocean views and fire pits which are terrific at nights. People: Interesting mix of hotel guests(mostly convention or meeting types during the week and wedding parties and vacationers during the weekend) and locals. More importantly, everyone is usually pretty friendly and relaxed.

Beautiful view, peaceful atmosphere. There is a lovely ocean view, but because of the wall you only see it if standing with your drink. I went for Monday happy hour and there were just a couple parties there, including a wedding party. There are comfy chairs, heat lamps, and a fireplace outside. Indoor seating is available as well.

We stayed in the Terranea Resort, and I LOVELOVELOVE the fact that we got champagne for checking into our hotel for the day! Why don’t more hotels do that??!

Pricey but good. The music is totally great and cocktails are great appetizers and drinks are okay but the music is the best part. I come here all the time it’s a lot of fun.

Well-appointed lounge with spectacular views of the Terranea community and the ocean. Service to the fire pits was a bit languid but I can’t dock them; it fits with the vibe :-) I was here with several coworkers and we just got a few beers, so I don’t have a lot to report other than this place was simply beautiful and I would love to visit again.

Such a beautiful lounge at Terranea resort! Classic and upscale yet still so cozy and comfy. A perfect place for a romantic quiet date, the outside seatings with fire pits are even more lovely. The views are gorgeous during the day, especially during sunset hours. The cocktails are creative and tasty, prices are fair for a luxury resort. Either you are staying at the resort, or just come here for some views and drinks, you will have a wonderful time for sure!

Great classy bar where they know how to make a drink. Sweet ocean view and people watching at a relaxing resort. Good top shelf alcohol selection. Our guy made some sweet Sazerac’s that I don’t think I could replicate at home. Skip Nelson’s and come here for a great place for a date night drink.

This place is perfect to relax at with a few cocktails. It has the most gorgeous outdoor balcony and patio and the inside décor was so inviting and comfortable. The service was FANTASTIC. All of the bartenders were so attentive and made wonderful drinks. AJ and the staff are 5 star and made everything happen for us.

A fun place to hang out, have some drinks and tasty appetizers and listen to live modern hits by a good lounge singer. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating where you can relax and enjoy the music, the ocean views or people watch. Definitely an older crowd.

As far as hotel lounges go, this is probably one of the best I’ve seen within the US. Just take a look at the picture(it’ll save me a thousands words!). The lobby is rarely crowded and always classy. The bartender is attentive and they have hosts/waiters walking around to tend to your every refill. The seating is plentiful and the cushions are plush. The outdoor patio is absolutely gorgeous and makes you feel like you are somewhere in Cannes or Amalfi. No smog in PV. Prices are consistent with the quality of the resort(but could naturally be lower ;)).

Best place to get a cocktail in Terranea! They have a Fig + Rosemary drink that is incredible. The pretzel with blue cheese is also wonderful. Here’s the thing: It’s less about the food/cocktails and more about the atmosphere. While the décor is rather bland, the sitting area is incredible comfortable and casual. As you walk in the main entrance, you’ll notice a room to the right with high ceilings, beige, well, everything, and 1960’s lamps. Have a seat and relax. You’re in the right place. Now the only comment that I have is that it is something difficult to get service in the living room-looking area. The servers are more likely to come to you in the bar area, but this seems logical as it’s a room many people sit in while waiting for others, their room, or a meeting. Get a hot tea, coffee, cocktail, snack or nothing. You don’t have to order anything to sit and relax. There is an outside area with small fire pits as well. If you want a full meal, walk down the hill to Nelson’s and sit right on the bluff. Last I was there I saw a whale passing by. In all, I love this resort. Parking is free, the view is unbelievable, the service is good, and you can stay all day without rush or concern.

Excellent service. Staff are friendly and professional. You have a option to sit inside in the actual bar area or outside by the heaters and fire. Both options are quit nice. The lobby area offers live music until 2300. This area seems more for families with children or older couples. I like the vibe and the cocktails are good quality.

I came here with my sister to get drinks for my family while we were lounging on the deck. We sat down at the bar and waited for 10 minutes, and were simply ignored by the 4 employees that were staffing the bar at the time. I’m not even sure why there would be 4 bartenders in the first place, but not one of them said a word to us while we sat and waited for 10 minutes. Half the seats at the bar were empty, and maybe only one table was occupied. In the end, we just left and decided to get Arnold Palmers at Sea Bean instead. Not a word while we were leaving, either.

The Lobby bar is located to the right of the check in counter at the Terranea Resort. There are other restaurants here that are marketed a bit better in my opinion so this is one of the hidden gems of the Terranea if you are looking to get some food and you don’t have reservations. The Lobby bar is spacious and has a big bar area, plenty of comfy seats and a tv in the corner. On the other side of the fireplace is a very luxurious sitting area that is connected to the main entrance and on the weekends they have live music which is pretty awesome. On this particular Sunday afternoon, I was served by Mina and Jillian was my mixologist. I came with my wife and we ordered the following three cocktails: 1. Pear Ginger Martini — Grey Goose L’Poire Vodka, Ginger Liqueur, Lemon Juice and Pear 2. Pineapple Express — Don Julio Anejo, Pineapple, Mint, Agave Nector 3. Midnight Sky — Grey Goose L’Orange, Blackberries, Rasberries, Blueberries, Champagne Float All three drinks were good but I liked the Midnight Sky the best. I had my dog with me so we sat out on the patio which is huge! The Terranea is a pet friendly hotel and it is nice to be able to chill out on the main patio with your pooch.

we ended up here because our planned happy hour spot before dinner, Nelson’s, had a private event going. we found this out, obviously, after walking the length of this entire resort! no worries though, it was a blessing in disguise. rolled in to the Lobby Bar expecting to drop a pretty penny. lo and behold, right on the table was a HH menu. Su-Th 3−6p. WHAT!!! it doesn’t say that online, the dude at Bashi didn’t know that. talk about pleasant surprise. $ 6 wines and $ 8 cocktails. no beers, but, some food. understandbly, there are numerous other HHs around the SouthBay that have better deals, but, none of them are here, at the lobby of Terranea. i ordered an Old Fashion and mama got a delicious house Chardonnay. we were thorougly impressed with the types of drinks as well as the prices. the ambiance was very«homey» with the fireplace and couches as well as the outstanding view of the sun setting from the balcony. had it not been so cold with the sun going down, we would’ve sat outside. nonetheless, great spot for a drink.
