Waters Café at the Agua Caliente Casino and Resort, operated by the Cahuilla Band of Indians in Rancho Mirage, CA suffers from the worst service I’ve experienced in any restaraunt I’ve patronized… EVER. Case in point: after asking for a coffee refill it took a full 3 minutes to get cream even though my waitress knows I always take cream and saw that I had none when she poured the coffee while saying, «I’ll get you more cream». Why such crap service? Well for one thing there are no coffee makers, condiment bins, silverware trays and everything else that may be needed by diners anywhere in sight. And while this may look nice, aesthetically, it’s hardly conducive to good service when waiters must disappear into the kitchen and rummage around for any of that stuff. But that’s just part of the sucky service problem: Waters Café attempts to employ a method of service popular with many fine European restaraunts whereby the waiters only take orders and the food is served by «food runners» and they have adopted this practice very, VERY poorly. The idea is since the waiters aren’t serving the food, they have ample time to see to the needs of the patrons. However instead, once they take your order, they hide in the kitchen, rarely seen, until they bring the check. And if they are seen, just try to get their attention. Eye contact? Fuggitaboutit! Shouting, waving frantically or jumping up and down on the table, perhaps. The food is, well, how should I put this? «eh» says it pretty well I think. They offer fish tacos but no refried beans. Double cheeseburgers but only bread and butter pickle slices. Wheat, white or sourdough but no bagels even though the buffet, deli and coffee shop, also owned and run by the«Tribe», do. And get this: all the waffle and pancake dishes promise«whipped butter and maple syrup» on the menu but after tasting what I was sure was corn syrup and, upon request, I was shown the actual gallon jug of commercial restaraunt«pancake syrup», the principal ingredient being, you guessed it, «corn syrup» and not a trace of maple syrup and this for an order of «Robbie’s Buttermilk Pancakes»(that’s 3 pancakes, folks, blueberries, strawberries or bananas are $ 2.50 extra) at a whopping $ 8.75!!! How’s that for big whopping balls, not to mention FRAUD??? If the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians have no qualms about so blatantly cheating me out of maple syrup, what am I being cheated out of in their casinos??? Unless the casino is comping your meal at Waters Café, take the quick ride over the Ramon bridge to Denny’s where the food is half the price and the service is infinitely better!

I wanted a snack while taking a Gambling break. Since The Steakhouse is closed until 5pm, I decided to grab a little something here. They have a Happy Hour with drink specials and appetizers. I ordered togo, as I planned to take the food to the room. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Wonton Tacos $ 14 and Hummus served with the flat bread $ 7. I was impressed with the Tuna Tacos, it was a flavor explosion with lite lettuce and guacamole. I’m sure the Tuna is the same Ahi Poke with dressing, they serve at The steakhouse. The Hummus was a bit dry, not bad tasting, but more of a dry spread for bread, than traditional hummus. Still there is many items to choose from. I’m not a stuff-your-face buffet perdon, so if I’m craving a snack, I would still head out to Waters Café.

We sat here so long watching football on Sunday that our hangovers went away — and then we started re-ordering a second round of food after feeling better LOL. Saimin was not great — I should have done the won ton soup for the upset stomach. Four hours after I got my appetite back, we were able to order off the happy hour menu: P Wahoo! Chicken wings were tasty.

I’ve come to AC a lot, and many times I’ve come to this café, I must say every time I’ve had a different experience… Most of the time they seem over staffed but our servers take forever to get to us specially if u sit outside but they are not slacking because u see them running around all the time so I guess it’s a management and delegation issue … Other than that some dishes are lovely some not so much … I love the steak salad … Some of my friends didn’t care for the Asian food some did I guess it’s a personal preference …

The service and food were good the selection in the menu was just ok. It is a casino diner so I guess it is what it is. The chicken tenders were good and I would definitely suggest the home made potato chips with the chipotle sauce which is really good on the tenders.

The service here is great. I had a nice waitress in the afternoon and a nice waiter at night, which means overall niceness. The food is so so. I had the chicken tenders at first. Fries were ok but the chicken tasted a bit too fried. They also looked like slim cut chicken rather the chicken tenders you get at like Denny’s or some other restaurant. That night I got the Steak and Eggs. I asked for Medium Well but it was more like Well when I got it. One thing though, they’re not open 24 hours. They close around 11:00pm. Other casinos have restaurants like this café but they’re open 24 hours because of the players on floor. They do have this small café open but the food isn’t like they have here.

Decent restaurant for being inside a casino. The Asian chicken salad is fresh and light and the pad Thai is just OK. too mushy in my opinion. The bartender was cool but made me a piña colada when I ordered a strawberry mojito but it was good anyway…

Used to come here before, wasn’t a big fan. But since they revamped their menu and came up with better choices and even better flavor and presentation, I cant help but keep coming back. The menu carries breakfast items served all day, sandwiches, a pizza selection and Asian selection. We always get the Belgian Waffle Banana Split Sundae for dessert. It is nothing short of a bangin party in yo mouth!

The Waters Café is a good place to eat. I mean, if you want a big plate full of goodies, than this is it. May be the service is a bit slow, but let’s get real all you naggers out there, this is a resort! You shouldn’t hurry. And if you do, than get here sooner and place your order earlier. :) But I digress. I have been here on several occasions and tried bunch of stuff and everything is delicious. And big. And priced right. And you have to try the locally brewed beers. So go ahead, get in, order big and indulge. Bien apetito.

Fine if you’re in a bind, but really not that great. Ordered chicken strips which came overcooked like jerky. Kids’ mac and cheese is straght out of the Kraft mac n cheese box, and looks like something made a day ahead. I don’t expect a whole lot for boxed mac and cheese, but still! Service was only so-so. The waiter took back the chicken strips, gave me a menu to see if i wanted something different, then didn’t come back to take that order for 10 minutes. Everyone else was done eating by that point. Ordered pancakes with strawberries to go. When i tried to look in the bag to make sure they included syrup(the kitchen forgot last time) and the hostess said«don’t worry, it’s all in there» with an annoyed look. Well the syrup was in there but the strawberries were not.

I’ve been coming here few times a year. Since my first visit, there have been many improvements. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They also have updated the menu and I just LOVE some of the new items. The Ahi Taco has to be the best thing on the menu. I get that every time I’m here but other things are delicious here as well. The other one thing that’s a must is the Peach Cobbler. It’s baked in a bowl with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The combination is pure heaven. It may be too much for one person but great to share with your special someone. Great improvements on service and menu! Thanks to good management!!! Bravo!

A little café located inside the Agua Caliente casino right across the elevators. They have tons of different things on the menu, and it’s all pretty random. From breakfast foods, to American, to Hispanic, to Asian. They have everything. I got their: Open Face Hot Turkey Sandwich 10.25 with Mashed Potatoes or Fries, and Cranberry Sauce I got fries instead of taters. it just seemed like a better choice. It could have been way better. The bread was a little mushy, and the flavors were not there. Fries? Tasty. They also put some, what it seemed like country gravy on it as well. My dad ordered their homemade chips with chipotle ranch for the table, and those were just freakin’ addicting! I highly recommend! This place has happy hour at night, and their drink menu is awesome.

Good food the new menu is a bit weak but there are still some great entries. Stake flatbread fantastic, burger is real good, rub eye is good too. Service is fantastic except for Will, probably the laziest I have ever seen, he must be related to someone important. As everyone is amazed he still around Eat at the bar nice crowd.

Had a late lunch here this evening and had the Ahi Poke tuna tacos. They were GREAT! Definitely on the small side with 3 for $ 14, but they tasted amazing. Two other friends also enjoyed their meals, one was the open face turkey which looked and smelt soo good! Definitely a good price for your quality of food I’ll be back! :-)

After 8 hours of driving, I finally settled myself in at the hotel and needed a bite to eat. Unwilling to drive a single mile more for the day, I decided to try a restaurant within the hotel. This place is conveniently located right by the elevators and their menu seemed interesting. The dining area is pretty large and I can’t complain about the service. The appetizer was a very large portion that could honestly serve as a meal in itself. For my main course, I selected the orange chicken off of the Chinese food section. It was a bit too sweet for my tastes, but it filled me up just the same. If I come through again, I may try something domestic.

It’s a casino café that serves breakfast. Is a review necessary? We’ve all been to one somewhere. The bloody Mary’s at the bar were good. Mouth was on fire.

I was visiting Agua Caliente with my Mom and we wanted to try the Buffet since we heard great things about it but sadly it was closed on Tuesday and we were very disappointed. =l So we went to the Waters Café just right past the Player’s Club and ate there. In my opinion, this is nothing but an upscale looking Denny’s with mediocre food. What I liked was the ambiance with the use of bright colors and the tall glass windows that projects the desert sun and features patio seating next to the hotel pool. I ordered the hamburger(forgot the name) with a side of mashed potatoes and my Mom ordered the chicken quesada. The servings were huge and the prices were just right for the quality.
