Food is good. We come here at least 2x a week. I know its a busy day but being on hold for 20minutes and the manager denying he answered the phone saying it was the kitchen guy. Lame. He was told we were complaining, he looked towards our direction but didnt even bother to come up and apologize. We even have to ask if he was the one who took the call. Then he apologized. But still blaming the kitchen guy? Being the manager you should take the responsibility and not blame your staff. Lady cashier who was apologizing repeatedly took our order and made sure it was done fast but still messed up with our order. But she is very nice.

NOT better than Boiling Crab! Yeah place is clean and and the service is superb but the freshness of seafod is lacking, the lemon pepper tastes just the same with cajun sauce and waaay more expensive than boiling crab. For the price I paid, I had more food with boiling crab than here. I can’t help but compare because they serve the same food.

****** CLEANESTABLISHMENT + SPEEDYSERVICE****** You can make reservations here. I ordered a pound of shrimp with fries and a drink. The fries were Cajun and a little spicy but very good. With some lemon and salt and pepper mix. The shrimp I got was Cajun flavor medium spice. Not that spicy in my opinion, boiling crab was deff spicier but this flavor was real delicious. Buttery with a hint of sweet. It was a real nice flavor. I also used the seasoning from the bag to dip my fries in, that was good as well. The service was very fast and attentive. Prices are a little up there, 10 $ for a pound of shrimp, 4.25 for Cajun fries and 2.50 for a soda. Overall I had a fun dining experience and left satisfied. I would deff go back and express how great the staff was. Ps: the bathrooms were very clean. Three stalls in the bathrooms and smelled great!

Me and my boyfriend went last week and we have been here around 10 times prior and have always been super happy when we leave. We love their shrimp and crawfish. The Cajun and lemon pepper with medium spiciness is amazing. We always get seated right away and don’t have to wait the redic 1+ hour like the boiling crab(We usually go for lunch and get a table right away but we went for dinner once and had to wait around 30 min). Their calamari appetizer is our favorite here too. The half shell oysters are okay here. They had macaroons once when we came and they were good but it was really hard. I really like the music they play, sets a good happy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and service is really fast.

So close to home, finally. Delicious well educated staff to explain how to order. Had a perfect meal of shrimp lemon & garlic and crab with house sauce. Oh, and the Cajun French fries are a must. So tasty, full of flavor and crunchy too. You must try this place out!

I am thrilled that we get this type of food out this way. My husband and I got the Blue Claw and polished it! We got it «medium» so I can handle the heat, which got me hurting just slightly in the beginning. My husband got a little bit of the«911» and with a pitcher of beer all to himself he was in piggy heaven! Taste was great, very fresh, definitely worth the experience and a return trip!

This is my favorite seafood spot. The food is fantastic & the service is great very friendly and polite service. I recently celebrated my birthday there and my party was treated with the best costumer service anywhere. And we weren’t rushed we took our time and partied hard. I would recommend the Mad claw to everyone the prices are reasonable and affordable even to those on a beer budget. And the best thing is every time I come I never had to wait in a line. I was ushered right on in. Now that’s Great Service.

The food and service is great! Fast seating and fast service, can’t beat that. Especially with the competitors services. The shrimp bag is great! Make sure you are ready to get your hands dirty! They may smell a few days later if you get the garlic.

As far as the few Cajun crab boil Places in Rancho go, this was definitely the best we have had so far. I like that they give you like and salt to mix and dip the seafood in. We tried the grit sticks which were good. We also got snow crab(fresh and tummy) and shrimp. You do have to prey the shrimp yourself which I know is a problem for some people but it was good. We got mild, full house which was shockingly spicy for mild. Not too spicy but glad we didn’t get hotter(per our servers recommendation). The only downside is that the service was pretty slow but it was overall good and we would go back.

Delicious, Clean, Nice Atmosphere, Great Service, No long wait and Close to Home!!! Finally no need to drive to The Boiling Crab. The Mad Claw is 5 Stars all around in my opinion. Get your fix here and much more in this open family friend atmosphere. Now Open for Lunch. Had shrimp, crab, and sausage, full house and hot and it was delish. Also had the Calamari Appetizer which comes with fries also. Calamari is the bomb. Nice thick and tender, cooked perfectly. I love spicy and hot was the perfect heat for me. When you go see if Myra is working and sit in her section. She was outstanding, checked on us frequently and made sure we were never wanting for refills. She is a great server with a genuine concern to make sure your experience is great. Even the GM I believe his name was Marc stopped by our table a few times to see how we were doing, he introduced himself and asked our names. Superb experience, superb food. Better than The Boiling Crab. Thank you Mad Claw for moving into my neighborhood. Can’t wait to come back.

Almost there but not there yet:( What I liked about this place is that it was not crowded at all, and it was dinner time. I had wings with Cajun fries and it was good but was not what I expected. Fries were just salty, with very little Cajun flavor. Wings were only salty as well, not much flavor to it. The only thing I was actually pleased with was the shrimp sauce. They’re so much closer to boiling crab compared to other places. Yes I’m comparing it to boiling crab because these restaurants are basically a rip off of boiling crab. I had trouble finding this place at night because the restaurant was so dark, the area itself was really dark as well… I’ll still be back though:)

This place is good… like really really good. It’s clean… clean meaning there’s no graffiti on the walls whether it’s intentional or not. Since its newer it’s kinda a hidden jem, there’s no huge lines or waiting times for a seat which is an added treat. The sauce… I opted for mild since this old belly of mine can’t handle too much spice… it had a kick… not enough to reach for the antacid but enough to give it a beat flavor. The seafood tasted fresh and the prices were consistent with other Cajun crab type places. The service was spot on and attentive… no waiting for long periods of time for drink refills or extra napkins. The location is nearby and I really hope this place stays in business . Highly…highly recommended

Pretty good! I was impressed with the sauce. The gumbo left a lot to be desired, but otherwise I enjoyed everything else we ordered. They have wine YAY so I liked that — they also have beers on tap. Garlic in the full house sauce is pureed into the spicy oil which makes it extra delicious. Douglas, our server, was awesome. VERY friendly and talkative, we had great conversation with him. Cajun fries are perfectly crispy! Clams were all open — I think the whole 2 lb bag included just a small handful of closed clams. Shrimp was also good, not mushy. Overall, pleased! Happy there’s a place now open in the IE that exceeds boiling crab IMO.

I was at ‘LA Crab House’ in the Terra Vista Town Center with two of my girlfriends on Wednesday and felt bad my husband didn’t get a chance to try some shrimp so 3 days later(on Saturday), my husband and I came to try ‘Star Crab’. In case you’re wondering, they are the same Star Crab that recently closed in Covina and they also have a location in Riverside. The Rancho Cucamonga Star Crab is located in the plaza by Etiwanda and Foothill Blvd.(same plaza where the new ‘Tilted Kilt’ pub is). There is plenty of parking. They are open at 12:00PM on the weekends(no lunch menu) and open for dinner only on the weekdays. The interior has a nice nautical décor and they have flat screen TVs all over. There are also large windows with a nice view. Unlike, LA Crab, there’s no customer graffiti all over the walls. I personally like the cleaner look. During each experience, we were the only customers in the entire restaurant so both establishments should be on the«A» game with service, right? My husband and I ordered the following: $ 2.25 — Coke $ 2.25 — Diet Coke $ 10.95 — 1 lb of shrimp with Full House seasoning $ 2.00 — Add Sausage to shrimp bag $ 8.50 — Breaded Cat Fish(comes with Cajun fries) $ 9.25 — Breaded Shrimp(comes with Cajun fries) $ 2.82 Tax ======================= TOTAL $ 38.02 Star Crab’s Full House seasoning is comparable to LA Crab House’s House Medley seasoning. The main difference I noticed right away is that Star Crab chops their garlic much finer(instead of large chunks) and they also have thin slices on lime in the bag as well. My husband isn’t really a fan of shrimp, but the seasoning really changed his mind. I absolutely loved their fried breaded shrimp, especially the texture of it. It goes well with the cocktail sauce. My husband likes catfish and liked Star Crab’s catfish better than the one he had at The Supreme Plate(also located in Rancho Cucamonga). CUSTOMERSERVICE: Okay, compared to my experience at ‘LA Crab House’ on Wednesday, Star Crab’s customer service was superior. There were 3 gentlemen attending to us. At the other place, I felt like we were neglected for the most part and our server was a young girl and very awkward when interacting with us. They only checked on us one time to see if we wanted refills. At Star Crab, they really tried to make conversation and were genuinely nice. The owner/manager? was also there(he wasn’t wearing a uniform) and also gave us more sauce and refills. My friend also went to Star Crab over the weekend and also stated that she received better service & preferred Star Crab over LA Crab as well. Yup, will be back!
