Sushi was plain and not the freshest fish I’ve had. Our wait staff was inattentive on a slow evening. Hibachi Stone for grilling not hot enough. Have to get three stones to eat.

The food came up very fast and it was fresh, smelled great and tasted great. We had the cilantro albacore roll, Alaskan roll and the shrimp tempura roll. We enjoy coming here and their happy hour deals are great too.

I went durning happy hour and the service was ok. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, which was ok, I feel as if I could’ve made it better myself. Off the happy hour menu I ordered the dumplings which were average, nothing special. I also ordered the shrimp tempura roll, which was horrible. The batter on the shrimp was to thick and the rolls were so thin that I was unable to pick them up with chop sticks without it falling apart. Along with that, I ordered the alaskan roll which was not good either. They put way to much sauce and way to much mayo. The prices were average for a «fancy» Japanese place. I won’t be coming back

Kabuki changed their menu and not for the better. My favorite item has always been the Krab salad and the new version is Soooooo disgusting. Disappointed.

I’ve been to several other Kabuki locations and I wasn’t impressed with the Rancho Cucamonga one at all. The food was fine(not great, especially if you’ve eaten at an actually«great» sushi restaurant). Kabuki, as a whole, seems to rely on mayonnaise way too much, though. I’m not sure how this trend of fish and piles of mayo started but it needs to die quickly. Almost every roll they offer is filled with the stuff. The service, however, was not fine. It was terrible. The restaurant was full but there were at least a dozen staff members on the floor while we were there. We often saw them standing together by the server station talking. Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time and was nearly impossible to flag as she walked past ignoring us. We mentioned a specific food allergy to garlic and onions and our soft shell crab was brought out on a PILE of fried garlic slices and several other items needed to be returned due to scallion garnishes, and our child’s chicken teriyaki was finally brought out after we had asked about it multiple times and the adults had finished eating all of their food. No apologies were offered for the poor service when we complained, either. I will not be back.

After the reservation debacle across the street at Paul M.‘s, we were hot and hangry. We came over to Kabuki expecting yet another disappointment, and much to our surprise, they had open tables and open seats at the sushi bar inside the restaurant where the A/C was on full blast. Thank you invisible sushi angels! You rescued date night! We opted to sit at the sushi bar which was very spacious and comfortable. No need to fight for elbow room or fear the sneeze of a neighbor. Music was playin, TV news broadcasting, and with all that going on, my hubby hit date night jackpot because now he did not have to sit across from me and engage in delightful dinner conversation. So we ordered up some martinis and sushi and enjoyed our new dinner digs. The sushi chefs were attentive and fast – that’s the basis for most of the stars. Our waiter not so much. He was chatting a lot with friends/coworkers. Had to track him down for refills, etc. Other than that, this was a pleasant dinner. Definitely hope to return when we are in the area.

Celebrated Mothers Day here. No reservations allowed but we were seated right away and had good service. The miso was only warm, not hot, a disappointment but the rest of the meal was good. I did not like the way they presented the combination plates on the serving trays. They took up too much room on the table that we did not have. A bento box would have been easier to handle. It made the experience feel crammed together.

Honestly the only thing good about this place is the location. The service is always horrible… HORRIBLE!!! regardless whether they are busy or not. It takes awhile to even get someone to acknowledge you. Last time it was so bad that the manger had to take our order since our server was MIA for awhile(not that she even approached us). We couldn’t even get someone’s attention to get the check. It such a shame because being from LA area I’ve been to the other locations and never had this problem. Never coming back here again.

We’ve been coming here for years. Not so much that the food is great but because of its location. It’s part of an outdoor mall that is great for having a few drinks then walking around. We’ve been going to other places even though my girlfriend loves sushi because the service here has deteriorated a lot lately. Today a server brought out food and when we asked for more wasabi the answer was that she’d tell our waiter. That appears to be the policy here. The one bright spot is Awad. He has gotten to know us and brings things without asking. We’d come a lot more if we could count on him being our bartender each time. He’s the big guy(muscular) behind the bar so if you see him it’s safe to come inside. Otherwise head over to Brio for great service and great food.

I love how they greet everyone as they are seated. The staff is really attentive and it is always clean. Everything from the lunch specials to the sushi is beautifully presented and very tasty. I recommend the Sushi Moriawase or the Rock shrimp tempura roll.

We ordered Shrimp and Vegetables Tempura Lunch special, Tonkutsu Ramen(sorry ifnI mess up on that) and Sushi Moriwase. We got here before 3pm and still packed yet we were seated right away. There’s a free appetizer — bead which is cold. Wasabi and onion has been prepared before our orders arrived. All food is good. Fast service especially the wait, well it was 3pm by still thumbs up.

Kabuki is thus far my favorite place for sushi! I am a vegetarian and occasionally I do eat an all vegan diet aswell and kabuki is just spot on with their rolls. If you want to have a great vegetarian or vegan roll I highly recommend their asparagus rolls. They also have a HUGE bowl of veggie ramen! It’s so good! A little bit spicy but overall amazing. If you’re ever around town town and want sushi don’t eat sushi anywhere else but here! Also, their deserts are pretty good. One thing to keep in mind though– FRIDAY-SUNDAY nights are usually packed so go early to get a table. Overall, the wait isn’t too bad. If anything you might wait 30 minutes max. But trust me it is worth the wait.

Super fast service and excellent sushi! We got right in and were in a hurry but we didnt even need to tell them and were extremely pleased with everything. Sit at the bar and you can have your own personal sushi chef!

I ordered the Jidori Chicken Ramen after an internal battle about whether or not I should go for the Spicy Miso Ramen. I was worried about being the white person who complains of the spiciness of food clearly labeled spicy. I regret not getting the Spicy Miso Ramen. The Jidori Chicken ramen looks beautiful but it doesn’t go much beyond that. It is easily the blandest food I’ve ever tasted. I’m no expert on ramen but tasteless bad ramen is easy to spot. I poured a lot of soy sauce into the bowl to make it taste even passable. If you get this dish, I recommend asking for some unagi sauce. They were happy to bring me some and it greatly increased the flavor of this dish… By creating flavor. I give this place 4 stars despite my food because the other members of my party were very pleased with their food and the service was excellent.

Loved my experience here. My waitress was super funny. She didn’t know anything tho lol. Everytime I asked her, is this good, she was like«I don’t know» it was funny! I got the vegetarian spicy noodle ramen bowl which came with salad. The food quality is really good. I also got the vegan Japanese sorbet and I really liked it. The garlic edamame was a nice appetizer too. Will be back.

Came here on a Friday night. Wasn’t too crazy busy. Got a seat right away for a party of 5. The ambiance was nice, a tad too dark though to be able to view the menu well. Our waitress was really nice, personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Had the garlic beef yaki. The meat was good, tender and flaverful. But it seemed like it was in way too much soy sauce. It was very salty. The rolls are good as well. But I don’t know… maybe I’m a simple guy who likes quantity a little bit more than quality. Because they were freakishly expensive. For 2 plates of roll I could’ve gone to a nice AYCE place. Then finished dinner with their Macha fried ice cream which is always a treat. Warm and crunchy outside with that cold green tea flavor on the inside. Overall it was good. Would come here again for a special occasion to try something else on the menu(but most likely not sushi).

There’s something special about this place. When I can’t handle AYCE, my friends and I find ourselves here. The décor is great and very welcoming and the staff is always friendly. I’ve been to many Kabukis, and most are very similar, but the vibes at this Kabuki is what brings me back(when I couldn’t handle AYCE). The workers seem to enjoy themselves and seem very experienced in customer service. If they would offer AYCE, I am almost 100% sure, I would be here every time I’m craving sushi! Overall, great environment, great service, and awesome food!

I have been going to Kabuki for several years, the original in Pasadena, and all the various locations in SoCal. Personally, the Victoria Gardens Kabuki to me, is sub-par. The restaurant is always dirty – with food on the floors/chairs, and the tables are always sticky. The menus are never wiped down, and always have food residue. The service is also hit and miss. The sushi quality is mediocre, and the presentation is not very aesthetically pleasing, as other locations. Overall, this location needs some help.
