For my 25th birthday, my cousin decided that she would treat me to a new do. This was in October 2012. I was hesitant to do anything drastic to my hair since I haven’t done anything to my hair since I was 18. So what was growing on the head was long, black, silky, healthy, virgin hair. After finally deciding that I wanted a «highlighted gradient ombré», an appointment was finally made(November 2012). I was scared of course, but she ensured me that everything was going to be fine. One of the first things she told me is that she never EVER lets any of her clients walk out looking like a hot mess.(Thank goodness). What I love about Wilma is that she listens. Since I was scared of color, we opted for something natural(my first time). Since I didn’t want to use something with too many harsh chemicals, we opted for semi-permanent dye. Before starting the process, she makes sure that you are informed of what has to be done to maintain the color and health of your hair. She has all the products you need at her studio salon. I’ve been getting my shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and argon oil from her since my first appointment. She also doesn’t force you or pressure you to buy the product. As most know, it isn’t cheap to always look so good(lol). It takes time, effort, and pieces of paper with president’s faces on it. If you are low on that paper, she will recommend alternatives that will still help with the maintenance of your hair until you can get the name brand products that she carries(and are well worth the price tags). She also carries styling products and just recently started stocking Moroccan Oil. It has been about a year now and she is the only person I trust to handle these locks of mine(from cut to color). My hair is still long and healthy and I am not scared to do something ‘different’ with my hair since I trust Wilma’s skills and judgement. And another disclosure that I probably should have stated before this novel was that I work full-time and live in LA. The 2 hour drive in traffic is well worth it – and I get my hair retouched about every 5 – 6 weeks and have NEVER skipped an appointment. So all in all … PROS: + Her expertise in color is exceptional. + Hours are flexible and Wilma is very accommodating. + Private studio salon allows for a more personal experience.(So, new clients… don’t be nervous! She’s a great person!). + Wilma listens to what you want(or don’t want). + Variety of hair products and styling tools available. + ‘Educates’ you in maintaining the health and look of your hair. + Wilma has a vast knowledge of different styles, cuts, and color techniques. + She would NEVER let you walk out looking like a hot mess. CONS: + None. RECOMMENDATION: Make an appointment ASAP. She gets booked fast.

I have been getting my hair done by Wilma for 2 years now and it’s safe to say I will never have to look for a hair stylist ever again! She’s very professional and easy to talk to. Her coloring skills are AMAZING! I was a little reluctant to get my hair colored so much but with all of the products she uses and recommends, my hair is still as healthy as it was before I started coloring it. I also hired her to do my hair for my wedding and everything came out exactly how I wanted it. I found pictures of the hairstyles I wanted for myself and my bridesmaids and she was able to recreate them to a T. She provided all of us with at least 1 trial run to learn how to work with everyone’s hair so that everything would run smoothly the day of the wedding and it did. Every time I get my hair done I get so many complements. Her work always turns out awesome and spending time with her in the salon is so much fun. I highly recommend Wilma to anyone and everyone! :)

I absolutely love Wilma! I live in Walnut but she’s always been well worth the drive. She has flexible hours allowing someone who works a 40 hour week to see her. My appointments are usually around 6pm. I believe that if a hairstylist gives a great haircut, your hair still looks great after it’s grown out. Regardless of whether I’ve seen Wilma in a month or two, my cut holds well. She’s also very skilled in color, the ONLY person I trust to dye my hair. Not only is she amazing at dyeing hair, she makes sure your hair is silky, healthy and conditioned. She will never let my hair look fried or broken like other hairstylists. Wilma is phenomenal at what she does because she doesn’t tell you what you CAN’T do. She’ll gauge your personality and find what’ll make you look and feel great. I’ve actually let her decide what colors to dye my hair because I trust her THAT much. I’ve been seeing her for two years now and I’ll never go to anyone else. I’m one of her clients that changes hair color every 4 – 6 months. She also keeps me fully stocked with quality hair product for my home. My hair should be falling out, but thanks to Wilma it isn’t! My hair is colorful, alive, silky and healthy! Highly recommend her!

I’m a pretty loyal person — just ask anybody. And if there’s someone who knows everything about me aside from my family and SO, it’s my hairdresser. When mine left the state to pursue other endeavors, I was at a crossroads. Should I find a new hairdresser or drown my sorrows holding onto the last cut that she gave me? When my hair started looking like a full-on mullet, it was time for a change. I found Wilma Vie through recommendations and after following her on Instagram(@hairbywilmavie). Although I was as nervous as meeting someone on a blind date, I gave it a try. OMFG. Best decision ever. Not only did she listen to every instruction and detail, she really listened to what I had to say and made me feel at ease. She also asked me how it looked throughout the cut and asked for my input and gave her own suggestions, making me feel like I was part of the process. I’ve gotten countless compliments with this new cut. It was a really great experience and I’m glad I got my cut by her. Will be back! In the words of Mariah and Boyz II Men, Thank God I Found You!
