El Cerrito Mexican Restaurant

This is one of my FAVORITE Mexican food Restaurants. Everyone is so nice and friendly. My husband and myself have been coming here for years and would drive from Beaumont just to eat the aqua chilies. Best around and the prices are fair. And now they have added more seafood to the menu. Even better :). I would recommend this Resturant a thousand times over. Can’t say enough just that it’s authentic and delicious.

Came here for mothers day… of course the wait was going to be long and well worth it… waited around 30 mins but that was because no matter where we were going to go there was gonna be a wait…
Service– despite them being real busy our waitress was AWESOME not only was she in a good mood but treated us as we were the only customers in the place…
FOOD– the food was delicious… being Mexican myself I’m quite the critique on Mexican food… some places can’t get it right but this place for it RIGHT! so I chose this place because my mom loves menudo and we were on our way to San Manuel’s so why not… my mom gave there menudo 2 thumbs up… you think I’m picky she’s like get out the way… the taste is very homemade… not watered down and it didn’t have that can taste to it either… delicious. I had the chilaquilles… these were delicious… rice and beans had a homemade taste to it as well and the meat was like butter melted in your mouth… Definitely going to come back to try other things…
Side note: they did have a buffet going but being that it was my first time trying this place out I opted for a la cart… now that I know there food is good I might just get the buffet next time…

The Unilocal reviews brought me here so I was expecting a great meal. The service was ok but the carne asada burrito had no flavor. The meat was dry and the beans were bland. Dissapointed.

This was our first time today We went solely on the good review of others. We were not disappointed. It’s was awesome! From beginning to end. The atmosphere was great! The chips and salsa were great! He ordered the fajitas which were delicious and I had the shrimp tostada which was amazing! Our waiter Fernando was also great! We will definitely be back!

I have been here a few times and I had both breakfast and lunch and I enjoyed both of my dishes. My breakfast was the huevos Ranchero with side of carnitas along with table made to order guacamole. The plate came with beans and home style potatoes, the eggs were serve on a corn tortilla and covered with salsa and grilled onions & peppers. .very tasty. My other Visit I had the three items which again was very filling and tasty. Overall I recommend this place as it was to me by a friend who found it on Unilocal.The staff is very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Enjoy your Meal. .the chips and salsa were on point!

We’ve always enjoyed El Cerrito since it first opened as the food is great and the owner Juan and his wife are great professionals. We had them cater my wife’s 30^th birthday and the food was ready on time for pickup and still hot. Everyone loved the taco bar, flautas, and sides. We will definitely use them for catering future events as the price was great and the food was excellent!

Went here with the moms for mother day the the food was got the Molcajete was Delicious enough for 2 people wow. Service was ok could have been better, I dont think they were that busy when we went.

This place is a find. My fav Mexican restaurant is Taqueria El Rey in Chino but it’s a little dumpy and doesn’t have table service or margaritas which my wife wanted.
The food was very reasonable. Tacos are huge and $ 2.75 each for asada, al pastor etc. Tableside guacamole was super but they don’t tell you there is a half order available. Tacos come with guac!
Great place that is very comfortable and super friendly. I love it.

Let me set the scene:
Me: jerkbag Customer that wants an oddly specific, complicated, burrito that isn’t remotely on the menu.
Them: angels that come bearing delicious burritos from the Tapatio Man version of Zeus.

Food was great BUT the service was horrible! The man that brought us to our table was very rude and definitely NOT FRIENDLY! The waiter didn’t speak any English!

Love this place! Always delicious! Always great service! Always great in general. Highly recommended.

I love this place as well as my family. We frequent this restaurant 2−4x monthly, more if we had time…
We have tried pretty much everything on the menuand always super satisfied. Especially, we love the homemade flour tortillas to take take home. You all makes us feel like FAMILY and you always remember who we are, THANK YOU! MUCHO GRANDE AMORE!

We went to this restaurant last night… there was a 25 min wait so we decided to have a beer at the bar. We stood at the bar for 10 minutes with absolutely NO acknowledgement what so ever from the bartender. A seat opened up at the bar so my friend and I sat down. I asked the bartender if we could order a beer… the disgusted look he gave me made my party and I walk out. I have been going there for 5 years now and I will NEVER go back there again. We went to Fonda Don Chon on Foothill which I HIGHLY recommend. The customer service was outstanding.

We actually eat here a lot but today I ordered a shrimp fajita quesadilla and the cooks decided to leave the tails on every piece of shrimp. It’s was very messy and I constantly had to spit of pieces of tail which was disgusting. Not exactly something you can pick apart being a quesadilla

A-​okay, I’ve had way better Chilaquiles elsewhere.
Their table side guacamole needed something more, it was a bit bland.
The Vegetarian burrito was okay, nothing special.
Oh and they don’t have black beans?!

Food was deLISH, guacamole freshly made at the table. Read the reviews before we went. So had to try the carnitas and The Molcajete. We were not disappointed.
The Service by Jose was just as good as the food. We will definitely come back.

I have to update the review. This last 2 times we got food from here the meat is under seasoned, the beans are undercooked and had a raw flavor and texture, and the rice was flavorless. The meat was still tender but maybe a few dashes of salt and some cumin could have really brought some flavor in.
I will still try again hopefully they read this review and make some adjustments.

Excellent food! I had one of their wet shrimp burritos and it was fantastic. The sauce was spicy and delicious. The burrito was massive and they didn’t skimp on the shrimp. The guacamole is very tasty and made for you table side. The chips are freshly made, as is their salsa and tortillas. Real quality food and a nice welcoming environment. The service was friendly and attentive.
Went again on ⁹⁄₃₀. Had the molcajete. What a tasty and bountiful meal. It had everything in it besides the kitchen sink. So much flavor and such a nice presentation. Best Mexican dish I’ve ever had!!!
Went again on ¹⁰⁄₂₁. Carnitas were very flavorful and moist. Cadillac margarita hit me like a Cadillac. Great stuff! Loved the service once again? Very nice people working here.

The food is really good and service is quick. I especially enjoy the guacamole, it’s made fresh at your table and if there’s something you don’t like you just ask them not to add it.

We came to El Cerrito after it was a hot topic on conversation on one of the Rancho Cucamonga Facebook pages. We were glad we went — its a great find! Terrific food, attentive staff and a comfortable, friendly atmosphere.
The tableside guacamole was a winner, as was the shrimp burrito. We will be back to try more food soon!
