I want my 滷肉飯 back, I want my Wontons back… Do they owe some rent, or they have legal issues? Renovation is not the real reason, alibi …

After the owner changed, I still tried to go there when I didn’t want to cook on my own. Few things I want to remind you … 1. They change the containers #5 to styrofoam. We will enjoy this world in a short time. 2. The Chinese girls who really hate to work … I understand… so can I get a different to get mr order? 3. The food size shrinks… the price goes up… the ingredients changed … I can’t even swallow the rice… I mean it!!! Don’t ask me why I knew it because we have a network and we want good food… I hope the current owner see it and improve it, so I can go back again…,

Wow this place has really gone downhill. I understand the original owners are primarily working at the hot pot place in the same plaza but the quality and service of this place really deteriorated. We used to come a couple times a month but the last two times the service was terrible and good quality just horrible. We are not coming back… so sad this was one of our favorite places in this area.

There’s definitely a shortage of Taiwanese establishments in Rancho Cucamonga. So when this place opened a few years back, it was a welcome sight. However, as the years passed, so too did everything else. To the review… Ambiance: It’s evident that the new owner is trying to make this a trendy spot with the dark red and black interior. Not for me, but if that’s what you’re into… knock yourself out. Food: Decent. Not the best that I’ve had, but it was good enough for me to go every now and then. Although, things tasted a lot better with the previous owner. Price: Now, here is where I have the biggest gripe. At first glance, you would say, «The prices aren’t bad.» However, considering the portions are half(at best), what you would get at an authentic Taiwanese place, you start to realize, you’re actually paying double! The last time I ordered popcorn chicken for my wife, the box was not even half full. WTF?! And it wasn’t a big box either. It was one of the small ones! Okay tasting Taiwanese food for double the price? PASS… Bottom line, if my family is ever in the mood for Taiwanese food, I’ll just drive to Diamond Bar and make a family road trip out of it. As far as this place is concerned, hopefully it was just a lazy, half-@%%, order I received. If so, you might last, but if my last order was a sign of things to come, I give you another year before you close or switch owners again. Sorry to say… That’s all for now. Until next time… Happy Unilocaling!

Like many of the other oldies from Rancho in the«Asian» scene; I agree after the ownership change it definitely is not as good. This time I ordered Lemon Honey Black Tea and 滷肉飯. Lemon Honey Black Tea — 3⁄5 It was sour enough to my liking, and maybe even had enough tea flavor, but was far too sweet. Order with half sweet, and I think it’ll be perfect.(Must note the guy did say he would make it again if I didn’t like it, but I not big on wasting things.) 滷肉飯 — 2⁄5 Having lived in Taiwan for a year, I think I have a decent idea of what it suppose to taste like. Yet, even if I had forgot, what I can say is that this was disappointingly bland. Their was not much taste, and for around $ 7 your portion size should be double.(You are paying double the price you would from any small Taiwanese joint in Rowland Heights or similar). The place altogether, I will go back, I have hope in this little place. Maybe that’s just cause I miss 臺灣…

Been here for ages already. It was pretty decent about year ago but ever since the owner changed everything went downhill. Last week I ordered almond milk tea and regular milk tea for me and my wife. I think we got food poison from lack of hygiene. Look closely in their working station where they make their milk tea. It looks very messy and they don’t wash their hand after handling at the cashier station. Save ur self time and go somewhere else if possible.

I love traditional authentic Asian food, and came here based on Unilocal reviews and pictures. They had a good variety of food, but their menus have no pictures. They only have the description of each meal. I asked if they have a pictured menu, and they said that they did not have any. So I just scrolled through the Unilocal pictures and decided to make my purchase. The food is awesome, a little pricey but definitely worth it!

Tucked into the corner of the 99 Ranch Market shopping center, Bobaland offers plenty of drinks and Taiwanese snacks to get you through your day. It’s a friendly little café with tables sprinkled throughout the modest space and pop music played at appropriate volume levels(no shouted conversations here). The ambiance is casual and relaxed, with terrific service. Order to-go at the counter or seat yourself and someone will bring a menu for your dine-in meal. So far, I’ve enjoyed their boba drinks such as the green peach tea, black lemon tea, Thai tea, and taro slush tea. I typically don’t think of boba joints as lunch or dinner spots, but based on others’ reviews and photos, it seems like the various rice, noodle, and soup dishes are quite good. I have shared the popcorn chicken a few times and it was tasty; each piece of chicken had crispy skin and tender meat, served hot and fresh. Although it seems pricey at $ 5.99, it’s enough for two people. There are a few options for boba in Rancho Cucamonga, but I find myself at Bobaland more often than not. As the current heatwave continues, I’m sure more people will stop by for a cold drink … and stay for the free wi-fi and air conditioning.

I love their beef noodles!!! It’s great!!! But the 滷味三拼 is so so. Must come if you like beef noodle soup.

Great go-to place for those who do not want to drive further out from this area to get some boba or food. I’ve never actually tried the food here, but I do enjoy the slushes. Conveniently located next to the Ranch Market :]

Me and my boyfriend tried this location after shopping at 99 ranch to grab a drink and we decided to sit down for a late lunch instead of driving around looking for another spot. Very very friendly service! They don’t speak English very well, a bit hard to understand sometimes but they make up for it with very friendly, quick service. The drinks honestly I have had better, but it’s not bad. So the drinks are just mediocre. The food however, are pretty good. I got the stir fry beef and flat noodle. Perfect amount of noodle, mix vegetable and beef! Perfectly, lightly seasoned. My boyfriend said his food was also satisfying. Definitely a cool spot to just grab a bite and just hang out.

Of all the boba places in the 909, this by far is the best one. My girlfriend said she would rather come here than 85 degrees. The staff is friendly and if the drink is too sweet or not sweet enough to your liking, they will adjust it. The three drinks that I’ve tried so far is the taro milk, green milk tea, and the honey green milk tea. I will have to say the green milk tea is my favorite. Good balance between green tea and milk. The boba texture was right on. Not too soft and chewy. I have yet to try the food but since I’m now a fan of this place, I plan on having dinner and a drink soon. If you’re craving boba and live in the surrounding area, save yourself a trip and gas to the land out west and come to bobaland.

Unilocal 365 Review Challenge 2014 — Los Angeles #83 — #365 My go-to place for boba! The ambiance of this restaurant reminds me of the small restaurants back in the Philippines. This little café serves delicious boba with Tarot Tea being my all time favorite and on hot days I would order the slush boba. The slush boba taste just like a smoothie, almost Jamba juice. Aside from the boba drinks, they serve hot and cold plates that are great if you’re on a budget. My favorite is the won ton soup and small plates like wonton and seaweed. It’s right in the Ranch 99 shopping center and next to Taco Bell.

I love boba. I would say I have drank more than my fair share over the years. My go to drink? Almond Milk Tea with Boba. It’s smooth, just slightly sweet, that amaretto/almond flavor gives it just a little something extra/exotic about it. So, when I go to a place for the first time this is always the drink I get to determine if I want to go back. Hands down the worst almond milk tea I’ve ever had. And it pains me to say. It was sooooo overly sweet, just pure amaretto flavoring, almost made me gag. The milk tea itself was too covered up by the syrupy nature of the sweetener I can’t really tell, but it was not very cold, what little ice was in it quickly melted. The boba itself… half of it was warm and fresh, while the other half was cool and hard on the inside. I drank about ¼ of it while driving home trying to figure out if I was actually really good and I just had some jacked up taste buds or if it was so bad that I was having trouble wrapping my head around it. Who makes bad almond milk tea?! I threw it away when I got home. I’ve never done that before. Maybe they just don’t do a lot of almond milk teas??? Maybe it was just a really weird confluence of events that led me to have this horrible drink experience? I don’t know. The place seemed nice and the staff were super nice. Sorry guys.

Everyone was pretty happy with what they ordered when we came here(meat dishes and noodles). The people working were quite accommodating(there were eight of us so we had to join two tables) and the portions were good for the price. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, which was okay. It was salted unevenly and the taste of the carrots and peas overwhelmed the rice. The shrimp also had a funny texture. But since they’re not known for their fried rice, that’s not so bad. I didn’t try any of the drinks, sadly. Maybe another time.

My Taiwanese co-worker suggested I come here for the noodles, not the boba. They have a few noodle and rice dishes, a couple of noodle soup dishes, and some snacks. I ordered the shrimp fried noodle($ 7.25) and egg scallion pancake($ 3.25). The noodles were very good. The shrimp was fresh and there was a fair amount in the dish for the price. In addition, the noodles were cooked nicely and were not greasy. The vegetables were crunchy and fresh. The pancake was also above average. There is a fine line of using too much, or not enough oil when making this dish. The cook did a pretty good job because there was no noticeable oil. The scallions were nice and fresh and the portion was big for the price: Both 4 Stars. The ambiance is basic. The place is tiny. There are six tables: 3 Stars. The service was very good. I was offered water by the cashier, the food came out quickly and she checked on me: 4 Stars. I have been to Taiwan before, and I have to say that this place is pretty good for a very casual place. Bobaland is definitely on my rotation of lunch places by my office. The food is above average, not greasy and very reasonably priced. Now that summer is coming, a maybe a boba after lunch will do wonders for the soaring heat in the IE!
